Abstract

This research aims to explain the political recruitment process of the Perindo Party in endorsing legislative candidates with the family backgrounds of its general chairman. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The results showed that the Perindo Party normatively implemented a more innovative political recruitment process for the 2024 legislative elections by involving public participation and technology. However, in this idealized process, a phenomenon of family politics occurs. The family of the chairman of the Perindo Party did not go through the entire recruitment process because they have strong ties to the party elite who have decision-making power. The chairman's family jumped straight to the nomination stage to be nominated by the Perindo Party. The mechanism is also directly through appointment rather than e-voting as cadres and the general public must go through the title of the people's convention. Therefore, the political recruitment of the Perindo party for the 2024 legislative elections has a gap in the process for the chairman's family because it does not apply the principles of openness and fairness. This has implications for the lousy party institutionalization trend in political recruitment.

Abstract

It is recorded that around 80% of DIY MSMEs have no right platform to market their products digitally. DIY MSMEs still lack in terms of innovation and the desire to improve quality through digital. Through the Provincial Cooperative & SME Service, the DIY government collaborates with PT JogjaKita Multi Andalan to deal with these problems. Therefore, this research aims to discover the collaboration model between the DIY Government and entrepreneurs through the JogjaKita application in the revitalization of digital-based MSMEs in the digital era 4.0. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach and analyzed using an interactive model assisted by Nvivo 12 Plus. The research results show that the established collaboration is relatively successful. The collaboration model begins with a face-to-face dialog, and then building trust which takes a long time, around two years due to an internal conflict within the JogjaKita Company. This collaboration is quite helpful for several MSMEs in increasing the capacity and sales transactions. However, some obstacles still need to be faced, such as the small number of MSME actors who use the SiBakul free shipping service on the JogjaKita application, as well as the uneven distribution of infrastructure network in DIY.

Abstract

The case of the Pertamina refinery that caught fire again in 2023 became a trending topic on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the incident occurred. From this topic, researchers aimed to measure and analyze the communication network that was formed, the topics discussed, and the actors involved. Due to the limited research on social media communication networks related to the issue identification process for companies, this study also focused on analyzing the results of mapping the communication network that formed on social media platform X and its connection to the concept of reputation when a company faces a negative issue. Data collection was done using the Netlytic application, which was then processed using the Gephi application. From the data collection results, the research showed a diameter value of 9, indicating a relatively loose network of actors. The density, with a value of 0.001445, and the reciprocity, with a value of 0.0001443, indicated very low interaction density. From the actor's perspective, there were three main actors with the highest degree of centrality connecting other actors, but the topics discussed tended to be negative. These findings indicate that the actor @detikcom is dominant, with many other actors connected to the account to discuss topics related to Pertamina. The second dominant actors are @geiszchalifah and @giginpraginanto, who, upon further investigation, are active figures on social media providing information and commenting on political issues.

Abstract

One detrimental consequence of the automotive industry's excessive production is the accumulation of end-of-life vehicles (ELV). ELV ought to be disposed of via a waste recycling system. As a result, the automotive sector bears a substantial obligation with regard to ELV. Hyundai is one of the automotive industries that has managed ELV effectively. The YouTube advertisement for the Hyundai Re:Style Presents 2020 model illustrates this. Hyundai's collaboration with fashion designers to recycle automobile byproducts including leather, airbags, seat belts, and glass is featured in the advertisement. They create fashion items from waste, including jewelry, denim jumpsuits, work vests, corsets, and tote bags. Researchers are intrigued by the pursuit of investigating the significance of the sign representation, the object, and the interpretant, as well as the implications of advertising within the framework of green marketing theory. To achieve this aim, the semiotic theory of Charles Sanders Peirce was employed by featuring a triadic model comprising an object, representation, and interpretant. Additionally, Sinh's green marketing framework was incorporated, comprising a green place, green product, green price, and green promotion. Consequently, A qualitative research based on Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics was used. The results shows that the signs, objects, and interpretants in Hyundai advertisements show the meaning of green marketing.

Abstract

The increase in illegal Indonesian workers (TKI) every year is a polemic in itself; the opportunity to become an illegal TKI can be detrimental to the state and individual TKI because they will not get their rights and are vulnerable to problems with inappropriate labor administration. The Indonesian government must immediately resolve this problem to ensure that there are no more illegal Indonesian migrant workers coming to Malaysia. This research uses a qualitative method by collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation from three sources on the survival of illegal migrant workers working in Malaysia. The analysis uses spatial and narrative analysis. This is a novelty in this research and direct observations in the field by the author. The research results show that the main factors for illegal migrant workers going to Malaysia are the availability of jobs, high wages, and the lure of families working there. The workers chose to be illegal because they did not have a valid visa, did not want to renew their advanced visa or a tourist visa, and switched to becoming workers in Malaysia. As for surviving as an illegal worker, the survival strategy for surviving as an illegal worker is to carry out economic, social, legal, and political survival strategies. This research is important to follow up on because many Indonesian citizens are still interested in working abroad illegally and not complying with established regulations, which can harm various parties.
