Abstract

There are many dental nurses with vocational high school or one year diploma degree. The aim of this study was to analyze various factors that influence the decision of dental nurses with a vocational high school or one year diploma degree to continue three years diploma through the RPL program. The sample of this study was 100 dental nurses in the East Java who worked at hospital or primary health care (PUSKESMAS). This was a cross-sectional study. We used logistic Regression to analyze the data, first step was characteristic and external factor influence on decision to join RPL, second step was the effect characteristic and external factor influence on decision to join RPL amplified by psychological factors. The results showed that 1) there was an influence of characteristics on dental nurses’ decision 2) There was no influence of external factors on dental nurses’ decision. 3) Psychological factors strengthen the influence of characteristics on dental nurses’ decision and 4) Psychological factors do not strengthen the influence of external factors on dental nurses’ decision. Further research is needed to develop characteristic and psychological among dental nurse to continue three years diploma through RPL.   Keywords: Dental nurses, Education, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Abstract

The aim of this study was to optimize the use of Ca-Alginates beads as a drug reservoir in the patch system with and without freeze-drying process. Meloxicam, an anti-inflammatory non-steroidal drug, was used as a drug model. Ca-alginate beads were prepared by ionic gelation method using polymer alginate and cross-linker CaCl2. The beads were evaluated for its melting temperature, FTIR spectra, and entrapment efficiency. The FTIR study showed the loss of guluronic peaks of alginate caused by a cross-linking process with Ca2+, characteristics peaks of meloxicam still appeared indicating the compatibility of the drug with the polymers used. The using Ca-alginate beads without freeze-drying process as a drug reservoir resulted in a very wet patch that was difficult to dry, cracked surface, and pharmaceutically not acceptable. Meanwhile, patch using Ca-alginate beads with the freeze-drying process as a drug reservoir demonstrated satisfactory characteristics with minimum weight variation among the patches that lead to giving uniformity in the drug content.

Abstract

The implementation of SIK in TB program uses Integrated TB Information System (SITT), which is an electronic web-based logging and reporting system and connected directly to SIK nationally. In practice, SIK P2TB in Health Office of Surabaya still needs development especially in analyzing some child TB indicators. The purpose of this research is to design the development of P2TB surveillance information system of children in Health Office of Surabaya to overcome the problem of current P2TB surveillance information system. The research used descriptive design which aims to describe the model of design development of tuberculosis surveillance information system of children in Health Office of Surabaya by indepth interview to 3 (three) managers of P2TB. Informants in this study as many as 3 people consisting of 2 TB vice supervisors and one contractor of P2TB. Data analysis was described in the form of DFD (Data Flow Diagram) and analyzed descriptively. the results of this study indicate that the type of information required on the output component is proportion of TB TB among all TB patients, case of TB case finding, success rate of TB treatment, coverage of children <5 years who received PP INH, and proportion of children who completed PP INH among all children receiving PP INH; The design of the components of the P2TB surveillance information system development process is the child TB analysis process and dissemination of the results of the analysis in accordance with the design of the DFD; and Data requirement on the input component is in accordance with the data in SITT 10.04 and recap PP INH. The development of surveillance information systems at P2TB is expected to assist in analyzing some of the child TB indicators that have not been processed so as to provide information for TB child reporting. Abstract

The relationship between student interest and learning achievement, until now has not been widely studied. This study aims to explain the relationship between interest and learning achievement of first semester students, Surabaya Ministry of Health Polytechnic, with a cross sectional design. The research subjects were 400 Semester I students of the Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya, 2016/2017 Academic Year, which were selected by simple random sampling technique. Data about student interest is obtained from the results of psychological tests at the time of the selection of new students, while data on student achievement is obtained from the Academic Information system. The collected data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. Students who have high interest tend to have a better semester achievement index.   Keywords: Interest, Learning achievement The relationship between student interest and learning achievement, until now has not been widely studied.
