Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk  menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan motivasi dari 35 orang mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi di salah satu perguruan tinggi di Kota Pekanbaru dalam pembelajaran Biologi Molekuler pada Tahun Akademik 2016/2017.Pembelajaran Biologi Molekuler berlangsung dengan metode ceramah dan tanya-jawab.  Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik angket. Angket yang digunakan adalah angket yang diadaptasi dari Science Motivation Questionnaire II (SMQ-II) yang dikembangkan oleh Glynn, dkk., (2011). Angket motivasi ini terdiri dari lima komponen motivasi, yaitu intrinsic motivation (motivasi intrinsik), career motivation (motivasi karir),self-determination (keteguhan diri), self-efficacy (percaya diri), dan grade motivation (motivasi nilai) dengan 25 pernyataan dan mempunyai 4 skala Likert, yaitu Sangat Setuju (4), Setuju (3), Kurang Setuju (2), dan Tidak Setuju (1). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa 45,7% mahasiswa motivasinya sangat baik dan 54,3% mahasiswa memiliki motivasi yang baik. Intrinsic motivation merupakan motivasi yang lebih dominan bagi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran Biologi Molekuler, diikuti oleh grade motivation, self-determination, self-efficacy dan career motivation.

Abstract

In order to meet the educational goals, teachers have to prepare the tools of learning. Those tools have the roles as the instrument of teaching and learning activities Teaching and learning activities have to be supported by interesting stages activities, so students have more focus and have the active roles in learning. The objectives of learning can be achieved if teachers can adapt the learning activities into the changing policies, one of them are, the 2013 curricula. This research aims to see the implementation of 2013 curicula in the learning activities of biology teachers in government highschool of Aceh Tamiang. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative. The samples are 10 biology teachers. The location of research are in government highschool in Aceh Tamiang, including SMA Negeri 1 Manyak Payed, SMA Negeri 2 Percontohan, SMA Negeri 1 Kejuruan Muda, SMA Negeri 2 patra Nusa dan SMA Negeri 2 Kejuruan Muda. The instruments of the research are 1) Observation 2) Interview. Result of  this research shows that schools are implementing the 2013 curricula.However, the research shows that the implementation of 2013 curricula is not fully completed. This shows that socialization and the training are not fully implemented, the ineffective of the training of 2013 Curricula. Teachers are not in maximum effort in implementing the 2013 curricula because the limited of the organizing system, the resources are not sufficient, and the assessment that seems so difficult. The result of analysis above shows the teachers preparedness in implementing of 2013 curricula is categorized as not sufficient.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of inquiry based learning modelon students’learning outcome of the environmental pollutiontopic at SMA Swasta PAB 8 Saentis. The research method used is quasi experimentwith sample as much as 3 classes, those are takenby using the technic of cluster random sampling.Guided inquiry based learning model is taught in class X2, modified free inquiry based learning modelis taughtin classX5, and traditional based learning model is taughtin class X3. The instrument is used in this study islearning outcome test in form multiple choice. The techniqueof data analysis used in this study isanalysis covariatbyusingthe program of SPSS 21.0 for Windows. The study result showed that there was effect ofinquiry based learning modelon students’ learning outcome (F=6.58 ; P=0.002). Students’ learning outcome that were taught by guided inquiry based learning model(73.36±11.443) was highestthanmodified free inquiry based learning model(67.27±12.050) was higherthan traditional based learning model (64.00±13.561).

Abstract

This research aimed to increase teacher’s competition and students’ echievements in study with applied study based on ICT (information and communication technology) as a multimedia tool in learning process. This reseaarch used descriftive  method. The sample in this research were four teachers and and fourty four students. The technique to collect the data was observation, interview, and students’ score achievments. The result of this study that teachers’ statement in IPA subject said that activity by used ICT (information and communication technology) made students more interest and active in studying, than conventional study , but there were shortage in the activity especially to the facility that did not suitable so the study activity used ICT media ) information and communication technology) did not effective done. The score of students’ prestige in SMPN 1 Manyak Payed as 76,18% and SMPN 2 Karang Baru as 68,45% at Aceh Tamiang dthatistrict. It could be conclude that teachers had be done ICT media in learning process but not all the teachers used ICT because the facility did not complete meanwhile the student’s prestige in SMPN 1 Manyak Payed higher than students’ prestige in SMPN 2 Karang Baru.

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine: (1) the effect of inquiry learning strategies to students' critical thinking skills; (2) the effect of inquiry learning strategies to student learning outcomes; (3) the effect of discovery learning strategies to students' critical thinking skills; (4) the effect of discovery learning strategies to student learning outcomes; and (5) the relationship with the critical thinking skills of student learning outcomes. This research was conducted in MAN I Padangsidimpuan, in class XII IPA second semester of the school year 2013/2014 in the matter of Biotechnology. Samples taken consisted of three experimental class. Sample was conducted by cluster random sampling method. This research method was a quasi-experimental techniques Anacova analysis (analysis of covariance) at significance level α = 0.05. The results of this study showed that: (1) there are significant inquiry learning strategies to students' critical thinking skills (F-count = 4.621; Sig. = 0.036); (2) there are significant inquiry learning strategy on learning outcomes of students (F-count = 2.860; Sig. = 0.018); (3) there are significant discovery learning strategy toward critical thinking ability of students (F-count = 48.709; Sig. = 0,000); (4) there are significant discovery learning strategies students (F-count = 4.034; Sig. = 0,049); and (5) there is a relationship with the critical thinking skills of student learning outcomes using a strategy of inquiry learning, discovery and conventional (F-count = 50.956; Sig. = 0.000).

Abstract

Bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan  tingkat keterampilan proses sains dasar siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dan penemuan bebas dengan siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA, di SMAN 1 Dewantara Kreung Geukuh Aceh Utara yang terdiri dari 8 kelas XI IPA, jumlah siswa kelas XI IPA sebanyak 240 siswa, sedangkan sampel penelitian yang berjumlah 90 siswa yang terbagi ke dalam 3 kelas paralel dengan jumlah siswa pada masing-masing kelas 30 siswa. Metode penelitian ini bersifat kuasi eksperimen dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji anakova. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa terdapat perbedaan tingkat keterampilan proses sains dasar siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dengan siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional (Fhitung = 34.488; P. = 0.000).

Abstract

This study was a mixed method sequential explanatory research. This study aimed to obtain information of a relationship between naturalist intelligence and students’ participation in maintaining environmental health and the other factors which influence it. This study was conducted from February to October 2017. The analysis unit was 169 students of one of public junior high school in South Bogor District. Quantitative research results showed that correlation coefficient (ry) between naturalist intelligence and students’ participation in maintaining environmental health was 0,407. This value showed that naturalist intelligence have quite a high contribution to students’ participation in maintaining environmental health. Qualitative research results showed that there are the other factors which can influence students’ participation in maintaining environmental health, such as social interaction with their friends in the home or school environment, students’ understanding of important functions of living things, students’ habit and self-awareness, and guidance from both parents and teachers. Keywords: participation, environmental health, intelligence, naturalist intelligence

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan; (1) Penuntun praktikum Ekologi Tumbuhan Berbasis Literasi Sains sebagai batang tubuh pengetahuan (a body of knowladge; (2) Penuntun praktikum Ekologi Tumbuhan Sains sebagai cara untuk menyelidiki  (way of investigating); (3) Penuntun praktikum Ekologi Tumbuhan Sains sebagai cara berfikir (way of thinking); (4) Penuntun praktikum Ekologi Tumbuhan Interaksi sains, teknologi dengan masyarakat (interaction of science, tecnology and society) menurut tim ahli materi, ahli desain dan mahasiswa biologi Universitas Negeri Medan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan produk model Borg and Gall, yang dimodifikasi sesuai kebutuhan. Model ini meliputi enam tahapan, yaitu  (1) Melakukan penelitian pendahuluan; (2) Perencanaan produk; (3) Pengumpulan bahan; (4) Pengembangan produk awal; (5) Validasi produk, (6) Revisi dan Uji Coba. Subjek uji coba terdiri dari tim ahli materi, tim ahli desain. Data dianalisis dengan tehnik deskriftif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian pengembangan penuntun praktikum berbasis literasi sains menurut tim ahli materi (dua) menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kelayakan Penuntun praktikum Ekologi Tumbuhan Berbasis Literasi Sains (1) Sebagai batang tubuh pengetahuan (a body of knowladge) “sangat baik” (91,07%); (2) Sebagai cara untuk menyelidiki  (way of investigating) “sangat baik” (100%); (3) Sebagai cara berfikir (way of thinking) “sangat baik” (92,18%); (4) Interaksi sains, teknologi dengan masyarakat (interaction of science, tecnology and society) dan refleksi diri “sangat baik” (96,87%); (5) menurut tim ahli desain “sangat baik” 92,10%. Berdasarkan data tersebut produk penuntun praktikum Ekologi Tumbuhan Berbasis Literasi Sains yang sudah dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk mahasiswa sebagai penuntun praktikum pada mata kuliah Ekologi Tumbuhan.

Abstract

The Effect of Inquiry and Cooperative Learning Model On Students Cognitive Skills in  Animalia Topic in SMA Negeri 11  Medan. A Thesis. Medan: Postgraduate Program State University of Medan, 2016.This research aims to determine the effect of the learning model on: (1) Students Cognitive Skills in SMA Negeri 11 Medan. The research applied experimental queasy method research with 3 classes which were choosing by using cluster random sampling technique. The class X7 learn with inquiry learning model, class X8 with cooperative (Group Investigation) learning model, and while class X9 (control) with conventional learning model. The research instrument were the test of cognitive skills in essay test. The data analysis technique used Covariat Analysis at the level of significance α = 0.005 by using SPSS 21.0. The results showed that: (1) there was significant effect of learning model on students’ cognitive skills (F= 15.916; P= 0.000). The cognitive skills learn by inquiry learning model (87.46±5.404) is significant higher than cooperative (Group Investigation) learning model (83.13 ± 6.509), and conventional learning model (79.73±6.329). The study imply that expected to the teachers to be able to conduct inquiry and cooperative (Group Investigation) learning in Animalia topic as the effort to improve the cognitive skills.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a Mini-Lab on ecology and environment topics based on scientific literacy and local potential of North Sumatera which is feasible empirically. Feasibility of learning material is obtained through validation of content experts, design expert, assessment from biology teacher and students' response to product that developed. This research and development used Borg and Gall model. However this study was limited to preliminary field testing only. Data validation and the questionnaire responses of teachers and students were analyzed descriptively qualitative. The result showed that according to content experts, the feasibility of product content was very good with average percentage score 93.32%. Feasibility of Mini-Lab’s design that has been developed based on design expert was also very good with a percentage score of 91.66%. Result of biology teacher assessment on Mini-Lab activity on ecology and environment topics for X grade of senior high school students was developed with 93.75% (very good). Students' response to the preliminary field testing individual testing is 80.35% (good), small group trial 84.52% (very good) and big group 91.38%.(very good).
