Abstract

This study aims to produce explorative mathlet learning media based on adobe flash CS6 with Islamic nuances on the linear equation system with three variables material and to determine the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the media. The type of research used is research and development concerning the development model of Alessi and Trollip. The stages of multimedia development consist of: (1) the planning stage, (2) the design stage, and (3) the development stage. The test subjects in this study were students of class X MA Madani Alauddin Pao-Pao. The instruments in this study were expert validation sheets, observation sheets on the implementation of the device, student response questionnaires, student activity observation sheets, and learning achievement tests. The results showed that the explorative mathlet learning media based on adobe flash CS6 with Islamic nuances on the linear equation system with three variables material met the valid, practical, and effective criteria. Thus, the results of this study imply that learning media can be used as an alternative to improving students learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the effect applying the think pair share learning method has on the reasoning and mathematical abstraction abilities of class X students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. This study used a quantitative approach with the type of experimental research using a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all 290 class X students of SMAN 9 Makassar. The sample in this research was an experimental class of 36 people and a control class of 36 people. The instrument in this study was a test to measure reasoning abilities and mathematical abstraction in the form of a pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis, namely the multivariate analysis of variance (manova) test. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The average results of students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the experimental class and the control class increased. (2) The average results of students' mathematical abstraction abilities in the experimental class and the control class increased. (3) There is an influence of the TPS type cooperative learning model's application on the reasoning and mathematical abstraction abilities of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar class X students. (4) There is an effect of applying the TPS type cooperative learning model to the mathematical reasoning abilities of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar class X students. (5) There is an effect of applying the TPS type cooperative learning model to the mathematical abstraction abilities of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar class X students.

Abstract

This study aims to produce mathematics teaching material based on literacy. This teaching material is purposively developed and designated for all students, both students with low, medium, and high levels of literacy. Consequently, teachers could easily apply it classically in various learning environments in the class. The design uses the Plomp development model. The research subjects were class VII students of MTsN 3 Central Aceh with instruments in the form of expert validation sheets, practicality assessment sheets, and effectiveness assessments. This study describes the process of developing good-quality textbooks that have fulfilled the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results of expert validation on the material indicator, the average V index score was 0.81, the mathematical literacy indicator was 0.77, the illustration indicator was 0.74, the layout/format indicator was 0.8, and the language indicator was 0.8. Based on these results, it is known that the developed textbooks have fulfilled the valid category. The results of the recapitulation of the practicality questionnaire by the rater have a total score of 137 and a mean score of 45.66. Therefore, the teaching materials are categorized as Very Practical based on the categories used. The tests carried out in the test group showed that the mastery of learning after using textbooks was above 85%, which means that it fulfilled the excellent category, and indicates that the teaching materials developed are effective.

Abstract

The development of the covid-19 vaccine and the impact of online learning enable the government in Indonesia to remove some restrictions caused by the pandemic and our situation now is called the new normal. In the sector of education, some schools already implemented PTMT (Pembelajaran Tatap Muka Terbatas) by fully implementing face-to-face learning with some restrictions recommended by the government. One of the learnings that most teachers used was direct instruction. This study employed a sequential explanatory design to investigate the implementation of direct instruction in mathematics classrooms during the new normal. Firstly, we measured the effectiveness of direct instruction. Secondly, we investigated the factors affecting the results of our measurement of learning effectiveness. Two classes of the eleventh grade in one of the high schools in Makassar were chosen as the sample of our study. The findings of our study imply that the implementation of direct instruction in the mathematics classroom is not effective during the new normal based on the mathematics test results of the students. However, students and teachers respond positively to the implementation of direct instruction in mathematics lessons during the new normal. Our interview results reveal several factors causing the ineffectiveness, which were lesson duration, the number of tasks, and the short deadline of tasks from other subjects. Thus, the students cannot focus and overlook mathematics because they shift their focus to other subjects.

Abstract

Media yang efektif merupakan media yang mampu mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dengan cepat dan tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis Benime dan Edmodo pada materi Trigonometri untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan yang mengacu pada model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MA Unggulan Bandung Tulungagung sebanyak 19 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan tes. Dari angket diperoleh hasil uji validitas ahli materi yaitu skor 3,60 (kriteria baik) dan skor dari ahli media 4,22 (kriteria sangat baik), sehingga media yang dikembangkan berada pada kriteria valid. Hasil uji kepraktisan siswa diperoleh rata-rata 87,36 (kriteria sangat praktis). Hasil nilai keefektifan siswa sebesar 88,42 (kriteria sangat baik). Nilai uji-Gain 0,69 yang tergolong sedang berdasarkan kriteria uji-Gain untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan minat belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, media audio visual berbasis aplikasi Benime dan Edmodo materi Trigonometri, praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

This research of development aims to develop an e-module based on Flip PDF with valid, practical, and effective integer and fraction material. This research conducted in R&D (Research and Development) design with ADDIE’s development model which included 5 stages, those are analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Respondents of the product development trial were grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Bulukumba with 64 students. The research instrument was a media assessment sheet by media experts and material experts to measure the validity and then questionnaires for teacher and student responses to measure the practicality of the mathematics e-module. The results showed that the mathematics e-module fulfilled the validity and practical criteria. The product meets the criteria of validity based on the assessment by the material expert with an average score of 3.88 and the assessment by the media expert with an average score of 3.33. The product meets the practicality criteria based on student responses with an average score of response at 3.72, categorized as practical, and teacher responses with an average score of response at 3.7, categorized as very practical. Based on the data criteria above, it can be concluded that the mathematics e-module can be used in learning activities. Further research can be done by developing learning media on specific abilities.

Abstract

This type of research and development aims to identify the need for digital math books, design digital math books, and measure the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of digital math books. The digital book development process refers to the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research was conducted at SMPN 5 Watansoppeng with the whole research subject to see the effectiveness of digital math books, 2 experts to get the validity of the digital math books developed, learning achievement tests in large group trials to see the effectiveness of digital books, and teacher response questionnaires to see the practicality of digital books. The results of the study show that the validation of material experts is in a good category and that media experts are in a very good category so that digital math books can be used in the learning process. The results of individual and small group trials by distributing questionnaires to each student's responses were in a good category, while in the large group trials by giving pretests and posttests, scores were in a significant category so that scores were obtained in the effective category. Then an analysis of the level of practicality was carried out by giving the value of the teacher's response to the mathematics subject teacher in the very good category so that a value was obtained in the practical category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dan kualitas modul berbasis STEM dalam matematika di SMP ditinjau dari tingkat validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitasnya. Model Borg and Gall dimodifikasi oleh Sugiyono. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan dalam penelitian terdiri dari (1) Potensi dan permasalahan, (2) Pengumpulan data, (3) Desain produk, (4) Validasi desain, (5) Revisi Desain Produk, (6) Pengujian produk, dan (7) Revisi produk. Instrumen penelitian adalah lembar validasi, mengamati kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, aktivitas siswa, angket respon guru dan siswa serta tes prestasi belajar. Validitas diperoleh 3,81 (valid). Kepraktisan dengan kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran adalah 3,82 (sangat baik) dan respon guru sangat positif dengan persentase rata-rata 91,6% dari kedua hasil analisis, sehingga modul memenuhi kriteria praktik. Sedangkan kriteria efektivitas diperoleh dari hasil analisis hasil observasi aktivitas siswa yaitu 89% dalam kategori sangat baik, respon siswa terhadap modul memberikan respon sangat positif dengan persentase 85%, dan tes prestasi belajar menunjukkan persentase 88% sehingga kriteria efektivitas terpenuhi.

Abstract

Positive thinking is one of the factors that influence student learning outcomes. This is because students' negative assumptions result in students not trying to solve the problem properly. Therefore, this research was conducted to see the contribution of positive thinking to student learning outcomes and how to grow it. This research was conducted at MAN 2 Soppeng involving 24 students of class XI. Data was collected by giving points and interview guidelines to measure students' positive thinking, while the learning outcomes data were obtained through student exam results. Interviews were conducted with 3 students who were considered to represent each category of positive thinking level. By using the regression analysis test it is known that positive thinking has a significant effect by contributing 35.3% so this also needs to be a concern in the learning process so that students can optimize their abilities. The ability to think positively can be improved in various ways, such as by creating a good environment, setting goals, applying appropriate learning models, and utilizing learning media. Therefore, each element plays an important role in optimizing students' abilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal and implement mathematics learning with community activities. This research focuses on the production process of charcoal handicrafts derived from coconut shells by communities in Kampung Kolam, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. This research uses qualitative research methods with an ethnographic approach. The method of data collection in this study is by observation, interviews, and documentation. This research instrument is the researcher himself who is supported by observation sheets, interview sheets, stationery, and documentation tools. Data analysis techniques used in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. While the data validity technique in this study uses triangulation techniques, namely by comparing data based on observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that there is a mathematical concept in the coconut shell charcoal production process, namely build a curved side space contained in a hollow hemispherical coconut shell and a tubular kiln used, build a flat side space contained in the block-shaped kiln used, a comparison of the value and reverse value contained in time and the number of coconut shells used.
