Abstract

The perception of back pain is a common discomfort experienced by women in the third trimester of pregnancy. This pain occurs due to the release of the hormones progesterone and relaxin, which loosen the pelvic ligaments, and due to changes in body posture adapting to fetal development. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of reducing pain before and after implementing prenatal exercises and effleurage massage in third-trimester pregnant women. This research used a quasi-experimental design with only one experimental group and no control group. The study population consisted of all third-trimester pregnant women experiencing back pain, with sampling conducted using accidental sampling. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the SPSS program, employing both univariate and bivariate tests. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test values, with a significance value (2-tailed) of p = 0.000, < 0.05. The null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, indicating a notable difference between the effects of prenatal exercise and effleurage massage before and after treatment in 180 third-trimester pregnant. There is a significant impact of prenatal exercise and effleurage massage on reducing back pain.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health includes physical, mental and social aspects. Apart from being related to physical conditions such as diseases or disorders of the reproductive organs, reproductive health also involves psychological and social well-being which has an impact on the quality of life of teenagers. Factors that influence adolescent reproductive health include individual knowledge and attitudes as internal factors, as well as the family environment, the role of teachers, peers, and access to information as external factors. This research aims to analyze the influence of biological literacy and attitudes of adolescents regarding reproductive health in the PIK-KRR (Adolescent Reproductive Health Information and Counseling Center) program on healthy reproductive behavior in adolescents. This research uses an analytical observational design with a case-control method. The sample was taken proportionally with a 1:1 ratio, consisting of 250 teenagers with non-risky reproductive behavior and 250 teenagers with risky reproductive behavior. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-square test. The results showed that biological literacy (p=0.000) and attitudes (p=0.000) had a significant effect on healthy reproductive behavior in adolescents. These findings emphasize the importance of knowledge and attitudes obtained from the PIK-KRR program in shaping healthy reproductive behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the learning obstacles experienced by preservice chemistry teachers in studying the biodiesel topic in the energy section. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive, with the instrument is interview guide sheet. Participants in this study were students of the program study of Chemistry Education. The result of the interviews with prospective chemistry teachers reveals that the primary learning obstacle related to the biodiesel topic are epistemological learning obstacle, with many students struggling to understand and apply concepts in depth. While students generally grasp the basic differences between renewable and non-renewable energy and the benefits of biodiesel, they lack detailed knowledge about biodiesel production processes and potential feedstocks. Additionally, there is a reliance on provided materials and insufficient initiative in seeking additional information. To address these challenges, it is essential to design more structured in learning experiences

Abstract

The results of PISA 2022 show that Indonesian students are still weak in science literacy, mathematics, and technology-based problem solving, which are the basis for developing computational thinking (CT) skills. CT includes four primary indicators: decomposition to break down significant problems into smaller parts, pattern recognition to find similarities in data, abstraction to filter out irrelevant information, and algorithms to design systematic steps in solving problems. There are many ways to train CT, so this study uses block programming and the Quarky robot. This approach was chosen because it is visual and interactive and makes it easier to apply CT concepts practically, making it suitable for building 21st-century skills. The study was conducted in two high schools in Banda Aceh, involving 20 students from school A and 26 students from school B. Students were divided into two study groups in each school. Learning activities were designed based on STEMC in the form of Student Worksheets (LKPD), which include interactive learning scenarios, block programming challenges, and exploration of the Quarky robot's functions to solve real problems. The activities were arranged in stages, from a basic introduction to applying CT concepts in solving complex problems. The results showed a significant increase in students' CT abilities, especially in the algorithm indicator. Although both schools progressed, school B recorded higher growth, with better pre-test and post-test results than school A. This shows that block programming-based learning and Quarky robots effectively improve CT skills, which is essential in 21st-century education

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding rates are often low due to suboptimal breast milk production, which impedes infants' nutritional needs. This issue is frequently attributed to poor maternal nutrition, unbalanced diets, and irregular food consumption. Breast milk production relies on hormonal changes, notably the dominance of prolactin over progesterone and estrogen during childbirth. To address this, a study was conducted to evaluate the impact of specific foods boiled papaya leaves, almond milk, green beans, moringa leaves, ajwa dates, soy milk, and fennel leaves—on breast milk production. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, the study involved 56 postpartum mothers whose milk production was substandard. These participants were selected in March 2023 using purposive non-probability sampling. A paired t-test was performed for bivariate analysis. Results indicated a significant improvement in milk production, with a p-value of 0.000, demonstrating that the consumption of these foods positively affects lactation. Consequently, it is recommended that breastfeeding mothers incorporate these foods into their diet to enhance milk production and support exclusive breastfeeding. Regular consumption of these specific foods can help meet infants' nutritional needs more effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to measure and analyze the level of STEM literacy among prospective physics educators using Rasch measurement theory. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design was employed. The research instrument consisted of a STEM literacy test comprising multiple-choice questions and essays, and the data were analyzed using Winstep software version 5.7.1 to assess the validity and reliability of the measurement instrument. The results reveal that only a small number of prospective physics educators exhibit very high STEM literacy, while the majority demonstrate moderate to low levels of competencies and attitudes toward STEM literacy. The measurement instrument was confirmed to be valid and reliable according to Rasch parameters. These findings highlight the need for targeted interventions to enhance digital literacy, multidisciplinary skills, technology integration, and scientific competence among aspiring educators. Educational institutions are thereby urged to better prepare future educators to teach and promote STEM literacy effectively among students.

Abstract

Weight gain is one of the side effects that birth control acceptors often worry about, especially users of hormonal methods such as progestin injections and implants. This concern is reasonable because several studies show that the use of hormonal contraception can increase the risk of weight gain. This study aims to compare the use of progestin injections and implants on weight gain based on Body Mass Index (BMI) in family planning acceptors in Muara Enim Regency in 2024. The research sample consists of 266 respondents who are acceptors of birth control injections and implants, with an observational analytical research design using a case control design. The sample size was determined using the G-Power Software application Version 3.1.6 with correlation and regression tests. The results of the analysis show that family planning acceptors with progestin injectable contraceptives have a 1.68 times greater chance of experiencing abnormal weight gain (obesity) compared to family planning acceptors who use implants (95% CI 1.021-2.752). It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as a reference for midwives to provide education regarding the negative impact of weight gain on family planning acceptors, so that they can inform more appropriate hormonal contraceptive choices.
