Abstract

Pulau Ay is an island located west of the Banda Islands, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province. Nearly 85% of the soil structure on Ay Island is filled with coral reefs, so it is very difficult to get clean water and the people of Ay Island only rely on rainwater to get clean water. The purpose of this research is to innovate to purify seawater into drinking water in the village of Pulau Ay and test the quality of the water produced. This research was conducted by designing a seawater purification device called Tampayang (Ay Island's drinking water station) consisting of a water storage barrel, a simple filter, a seawater distillation apparatus and a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane machine. The water produced from the purification of seawater is then analyzed in a laboratory according to Indonesian national standard and the regulation of the Minister of Health of 2010 concerning drinking water quality requirements. The results showed that the Tampayang tool produces 2 types of water, namely clean water and drinking water. After being tested both types of water meet the water quality requirements for consumption based on physical, chemical and biological parameters. The clean water and drinking water produced can be useful and consumed by the people of Ay Island as a solution to seawater utilization

Abstract

Breast cancer is among the diseases with the highest mortality rate in women in the world. The triple negative cancer subtype with aggressiveness and metastatic ability causes the sufferer to be difficult to treat. Targeted treatment efforts of natural ingredients such as limonene and its derivatives are more profitable due to their easy excretion process. Screening the activity of compounds through docking specifically provides convenience in the synthesis process in the laboratory. Limonene compounds and their derivatives will be interpreted against the enzymes MMP-2 (PDB ID: 3AYU), MMP-9 (PDB ID: 4H1Q) and Cyclin A2 (PDB ID: 2V22) involved in the cellular function of triple-negative breast cancer using PyRx 9.0 software. The docking results showed that the limonelyl salicylate compound provided the best binding affinity value against the enzymes MMP-2, MMP-9, and Cyclin A2 with successive values of -7.7, -8.8, and -6.7 kcal/mol.

Abstract

Learning is now gradually recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic with the start of limited face-to-face learning. This makes educators need to innovate so that students still have independent learning. Less than optimal online learning causes students to be too passive when learning offline. To overcome this, research was carried out through the development of science module based on flipbook about physics in the respiratory system. This study aims to determine the feasibility level of the module, to determine the responses of students, and to find out whether the module can increase students' independence in science learning. This study uses the Thiagarajan 4D (Four-D Model) development model, consisting of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The dissemination stage was not carried out, this research was only limited to product feasibility testing. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The sample in this study is class VIII A totaling 10 people. The collection technique used is a questionnaire and documentation. The results showed that: (1) science module based on flipbook was feasible, judging from the percentage of the feasibility of the module 96.73% (very feasible), (2) student responses to the module were in the very good category, seen from the percentage of interest in the module 90.00% (very interested), and the students' independence in learning science using flipbook-assisted science modules were included in the high category, with a percentage of 86.25% (high science learning independence).

Abstract

Experimental activities are part of physics learning process with the aim of gaining knowledge and having good understanding of physics concepts. Sound and organ pipes are the main subjects discussed in physics and engineering lessons. These materials contain facts accompanied by actualization in everyday life in social life. However, the fact in high school (SMA) physics learning is that experimental activities in supporting students’ learning and understanding have not been widely carried out. This is due to the lack of practical support tools. The purposes of this research are to design a sound experimentation tool design of an open and closed organ pipes and to determine the value of the speed of sound which propagates through air medium using a data acquisition technique assisted by sound analysis oscilloscope software. This type of research is a Research and Development research with five stages referring to the ADDIE model. The first stage was analysis, that was done by conducting a study of the problems of physics learning at senior high school level, especially in sound chapter. The second stage was design, namely designing experimentation tools. The third stage was development, that was done by providing materials that were used in the experiment. The fourth stage was implementation, that was testing the tool which had been made combined with sound analysis oscilloscope software, and the fifth was conducting an evaluation and feasibility test based on the validity of the experimental data. The data analysis technique used average and linear regression by utilizing the results of data from frequency analysis using sound analysis oscilloscope software. The results showed that the experimentation tool in this study was able to be used as learning media for the sound and open and closed organ pipes materials. The experimental results obtained that the speed of the sound waves propagation in air for an open organ pipe was v = 332.19 m/s with an accuracy rate of 97.70%. While the value of the speed of the sound waves in air for a closed organ pipe was v = 334.69 m/s with an accuracy rate of 98.44%.

Abstract

The literacy ability of Indonesian students is still relatively low, there are several factors that cause it, one of which is an error in selecting learning resources, especially the teaching materials used by schools are not based on local wisdom and do not meet valid categories to measure literacy skills. For this reason, the development of module-based teaching materials is needed. local wisdom in supporting the achievement of competencies and goals in learning. This study aims to obtain a product through a process of testing the effectiveness to measure scientific, data and environmental literacy abilities. This research is development research (R&D) using 4-D type (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The population of this study was class X students with a total of 141 consisting of small and large-scale tests. The results showed that the students' literacy skills were 71.86% (high), the results of the n-gain analysis for the experimental class were 0.70 and for the control class 0.55 (moderate). The results of the inferential analysis were obtained using a different test (t-test) showing that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, so it can be concluded that teaching materials based on local wisdom in the Takalar area provide a significant difference in increasing the literacy skills of class X students.

Abstract

Clothesline Model (CM) has been built. This model tries to explain the strange pattern of variations in the acceleration of Earth's gravity when a total solar eclipse or total lunar eclipse occurs. This model is built on the principle of a usual clothesline. In the CM, the concept of clothesline curvature is introduced due to an object that is hung on it and the ability of the object to reduce or affect the clothesline curvature of other objects that are also hung on the clothesline. In natural phenomena, the curvature of the clothesline in an object is interpreted as the curvature of spacetime which is a manifestation of the acceleration of gravity on the object. The influence or disturbance of an object on the clothesline curvature of another object is interpreted as the gravitational attraction of that object to another object. Based on the results of the CM analysis, the variation pattern of the earth's gravitational acceleration during a total solar eclipse is influenced by the damping factor by the moon against the disturbances from the sun and the earth. Meanwhile, the pattern of variations in the acceleration of Earth's gravity during a total lunar eclipse is influenced by the damping factor by the earth itself against disturbances from the sun and moon. From this damping effect, the moon and the earth act as gravitational shields
