Abstract

Bungkul Park as one of the green open spaces in Surabaya is known as the best city park locally and internationally. The implementation and management of the park's environment has improved and developed over time. The aim of this paper was to determine whether Bungkul Park Surabaya has been effective in the ecological function of city parks and the application of SDGs to Bungkul Park facilities. The research method used in this study is qualitative by observing the activities of Bungkul Park visitors and conducting literature studies. The results of this paper indicate that Bungkul Park Surabaya needs to apply the concept of a green park to the waste system, structuring street vendors, and landscaping to support the Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract

Architectural design through the concept of wayfinding for mental health facilities can support the patient's healing process, by providing designs that can influence cognitive behavior. The main problem is how to solve the spatial disorientation in the building. The healing architecture theories observe and harness the environmental elements as a factor in the design of a building. This information is applied to help the occupants in the process identifying their environment. The statement provides a basis for ideas of ideas regarding the architecture that provides information on the occupant, and it presents a hypothesis about architecture as a guide the user inside the building (wayfinding). The design proposal aims is to produce proposed structures designed as facilities to deal with mental health disorders according to the needs of the patient, and knowing what architectural elements can be used in using the concept of wayfinding as a result of research.

Abstract

The SDG's primary target of providing an inclusive environment has a lot to do with the quality of public services. However, in terms of infrastructure, there are still various shortcomings, especially in implementing designs based on inclusive design.  Malang City, one of the cities with new public service facilities, chose an existing building to become a public service mall. Issues that occur include unfriendly circulation, inappropriate space functions and not adequately accommodated mobility of users with special needs, elders and children because there is only one access. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation and interviews as a method and the principle of inclusive design as a research tool. The result of the study from this research is that the Mal Pelayanan Publik Merdeka Kota Malang has not yet become an inclusive public facility.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the extent to which the Covid-19 pandemic with all kinds of restrictions that occur affects the soundscape experience, and explores the extent to which an audial study was created at Taman Dewi Sartika Bandung as a thematic city park in the center of Bandung City. This is deemed necessary so that practical and theoretical contributions are not only limited to visual goals but also give meaning to audial experience. The soundscape approach has not been widely applied in the architectural design process, especially in urban parks in the city center in Indonesia, particurarly in Bandung. This research was conducted by using observations at Dewi Sartika Park, and used a qualitative and quantitative approach, accompanied by an exploratory literature review on soundscapes, city parks as part of public space, and human perception. Through this research, it was found that the presence of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the soundscape experience and shifted the existence of the park from being very cultural, namely domination in aspects of activity and place, to being very natural which is "sacred".

Abstract

The research has a background of various housing development problems that require solutions, because housing is a basic human need. Development should be able to realize decent and sustainable housing, especially in developing countries including Indonesia. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with literature study or content analysis. The results of the study conclude that the problems of housing procurement include the high level of energy consumption of residential buildings, the low level of comfort of residential buildings, low levels of building health, building level considerations that are often ignored. security and also the level of respect for human dignity in the provision of housing need to be considered.

Abstract

Box-shaped buildings covered by glass and minimal shading elements are increasingly common, then causes more large building energy consumption. This research aims to analyze the selection of the most optimal glass material for the Undip Integrated Laboratory Building, so that the Overall Thermal Transfer Value (OTTV) of the building is expected to meet the SNI 6389:2020 standard. The research was conducted with an experimental quantitative approach using a spreadsheet calculator OTTV Microsoft Excel of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The simulation is divided into three treatment variations, namely variations in BNFL glass thickness; variations in the color of Panasap's glass; and various types of glass. The results show that glass materials with good thermal properties have low shading coefficient (SC), solar factor (SF), and U-value. In addition, the brighter and thicker the glass material, the better the thermal performance. The Undip Integrated Laboratory Building has a total OTTV that meets SNI 6389:2020 standards. However, if viewed partially, the OTTV of the east facade of the building needs to be retrofitted.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to formulate criteria and indicators for buildings that have resistance to covid-19, then study the physical aspects of the Pedawa Village traditional house building. This study is a mixed method study that integrates qualitative and quantitative methods. Interpretive criticism were used to formulate the criteria. Measurements with a 1-3 scale and JMP statistical analysis tool were used to formulate the conditions of physical aspects of the Pedawa Village traditional house. The result shows that there are three main criteria for Covid-19 responsive buildings, including utility, layout, and materials. The evaluation of the Pedawa Village traditional houses show that the house meets 12 of the 18 indicators of the covid-19 response house. These indicators include water supply, drainage, building orientation, ventilation direction, distance between buildings, site area, open space, building massing composition, and choice of materials and materials.

Abstract

Ecological architecture is the harmony between structural function and environmental function through the efficient usage of natural potential and adherence to eco-friendly principles. The purpose of this study is to see how ecological architecture is applied in the design of museum buildings. The object of this research is the Museum Gunungapi Merapi. The building is located in Yogyakarta, near Mount Merapi, a humid tropical area. This qualitative descriptive research illustrates the factual conditions of the museum, which later on will be associated with theories found in literatures. A building will be regarded as ecological if its design has met ecological architectural principles in the sense of having incorporated environmental consideration in its physical structure, harmonized its system with nature, used sustainable natural resources and energy efficiency, and applied spatial planning according to ecological values. The results have led to a conclusion that the museum has been built by considering the ecological architectural aspects of its structural arrangement, landscape utilization, and material usage.

Abstract

Umah kantur in the Gayo highlands is located in the Bukit Barisan section which is crossed by the Sumatran fault line, making this area prone to earthquakes. These vernacular houses were designed by local people using natural materials found in their environment, forming a hazard-responsive system of wooden construction. However, the current generation tends to forget this knowledge from their ancestors, why this construction was used and what is the logic of the structure in the building. This qualitative research observes to identify the construction process of the elements and joint systems of the umah kantur in the Pegasing-Gayo area. The results of the study concluded that the home construction system contains sustainability to be applied to the current simple wooden house construction. The use of nails in the construction of walls, zinc material for roof, and cast concrete for bases, is still capable of producing a construction that is rigid elastic, lightweight, and able to reduce earthquake forces. Evidenced by the occurrence of uniform swaying movements of the legs, body and head construction during an earthquake, so that the house is still sturdy today.
