Abstract

MOL is an organic fertilizer made from fermented natural materials that contain carbohydrates and many macro and micro nutrients. This type of fertilizer also contains microorganisms that its contribute towards role as biofertilizer. One potential organic material for MOL that is easily available is bamboo shoots. Bamboo shoots contain important nutrients which can improve plant growth and development. The purpose of this study was to determine what bacteria are contained in bamboo shoot MOL and to determine its effect on growth in pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L). This research is an experimental study using RAL (Complete Randomized Design), including: isolation and characterization of bamboo shoot MOL, application of MOL to pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L) containing bacterial isolates from bamboo shoot MOL. The observed parameters include plant height, root length, number of leaves and wet weight of pakcoy plants followed by statistical analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and characterization results on isolates obtained based on Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology. From the research results obtained that the prediction of the genus of bacteria contained in bamboo shoots is Lactobacillus, Streptococcus Sp, Saccharococcus, Veillonella sp, Azotobacter, and Rhizobacter which play a role in accelerating decomposition so as to produce the best quality fertilizer and MOL contained in bamboo shoots has a significant effect on the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L). The best result for MOL bamboo shoots that are good for pakcoy plant growth is obtained at a concentration of 150ml / L so that MOL bamboo shoots have the potential for pakcoy plant growth.

Abstract

Each student in the class has different abilities, readiness, and interests in learning. As the provider of materials and as a facilitator, the teacher must be able to adapt to curriculum changes, including enhancing students' creative thinking skills through differentiated and integrated STEM learning in the subject of ecology for grade 7 in junior high school. This research aims to analyze the readiness of science teachers to implement differentiated and integrated STEM learning in the “merdeka” curriculum of junior high school. The analytical method used is quantitative descriptive, employing a semi-open questionnaire consisting of 16 questions. The research subjects are 15 science teachers of grade 7 in junior high schools in Besuki. The questionnaire analysis results show that 66.7% of the teachers have implemented differentiated learning under the principles of the merdeka curriculum. However, they face several constraints, such as time, learning resources, facilities, infrastructure, and lack of training and experience teaching differentiated learning. 33.3% of science teachers who have integrated STEM into the ecology subject also encounter constraints such as time, availability of electricity, availability of materials, internet connection, and lack of training. 0% of science teachers have not yet used differentiated STEM-integrated ecology modules. Thus, 100% of the teachers agree with the development of differentiated STEM-integrated ecology modules, as teachers need learning media that can assist in implementing differentiated STEM-integrated learning.

Abstract

Pteridophyta plants as plant communities in biodiversity have important ecological functions in rivers and human life. One of the habitats for ferns in the upper reaches of the river in Bengkulu is the Pasmah River. The Pasmah River is a source of water for the people of Bengkulu and its surroundings. To maximize the role of the river, it is necessary to make an inventory of plants around the river, one of which is ferns. This study aims to determine the diversity of types and variations of pteridophyta sorus. A sampling of ferns was carried out on the banks of the Pasmah River, Central Bengkulu. Purposive sampling was used in this study to pinpoint the location, and the cruising (cruise method) was used to collect sample data. The results showed that there were 15 types of ferns where 12 types of ferns were found with sorus, 6 types of ferns were round, 4 were elongated, 1 was in line, 1 was strobili and 3 species had no sorus.

Abstract

STEM PBL emphasizes integrating several aspects of science, such as technology and design, where in this aspect, there will be an innovative engineering process based on science and mathematics that aims to carry out innovation and problem-solving. The research design is a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design—the tests conducted by pre-test and post-test of the learning process in experiment and control groups. The experiment and the control group were conducted in two classes with different treatments; the experiment class used the PBL STEM model, while the control class was treated using a conventional model. The results present that the average percentage of the student’s problem-solving in the experiments class increased after implementing the STEM PBL model. More students were experts in all aspects of problem-solving in the post-test compared with the pre-test.

Abstract

Digital inequality and the pandemic have exacerbated the learning crisis, caused some learning loss, also fostered students’ individualistic attitude, which resulted in poor collaboration skills. Furthermore, the models and approaches in the teaching material activities have not reflected the stages that encouraged the practice to enhance collaboration skills. Meanwhile, collaboration skills can be trained and developed by selecting the right teaching materials that are integrated with appropriate learning models. The development of PjBL-STEAM-based E-Module is believed to be able to improve students' collaboration skills. This study used a quasi-experimental design with basic random sampling. There were two study groups: the experimental and the control groups. The instruments used in this study were a self-assessment questionnaire measuring students’ collaboration skills and teachers’ observation sheets that aligned with the collaboration skill indicators. ANCOVA test was used to analyze the data. The findings showed that the E-Module has no significant effect on students' collaboration skills (α=0,213), while the covariates indicated some factors that significantly affect the improvement of students’ collaboration skills (α=0,004). The validation results of the PjBL-STEAM-based E-Module suggested that it is highly valuable to implement in the teaching and learning process.
