Abstract

Academic burnout or academic fatigue is a condition experienced by individuals who feel excessive physical fatigue, experience boredom with academics and feel emotional exhaustion caused by the large number of tasks or responsibilities that are so heavy that the individual cannot complete all their responsibilities properly. GoodThe purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of behavioral group counseling services using affirmation relaxation techniques to reduce academic burnout. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental design. The technique used for sampling in this research is probability sampling. experimental results of behavioral group counseling services using effective affirmation relaxation techniques to reduce academic burnout.

Abstract

: Indonesia has a wealth of culture contained in customs and traditions in each region. One of the regions in Indonesia that contains a diversity of customs and cultural traditions is Jambi. Jambi is a province on the island of Sumatra. Jambi is included in the Malay group. Jambi Malay has various customs and traditions that the local community has preserved from generation to generation. The values ​​contained therein are implemented in everyday life as a benchmark for what is allowed, not allowed, and even what must be done in community life. This study aims to explore the values ​​of the Jambi Malay tribe that can be applied and implemented in multicultural counseling. The method used in this study is a systematic literature review to find and explore cultural values ​​in the Jambi Malay tribe that can be used in the counseling service process. This study follows three stages of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) flowchart, namely identification of the records, screening for possible and eligibility, and inclusion of the studies. The results of this study are the discovery of several cultural values ​​taken from several traditions in Jambi that can be applied in the counseling process

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of classical guidance services using digital-based game-based learning methods to improve students' self-efficacy. This study is an action research on guidance and counseling. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII H of SMP Negeri 31 Semarang. Students' self-efficacy was measured using a self-efficacy scale which was then analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that in the pre-cycle, the percentage of self-efficacy was 56%, then given action in cycle I, self-efficacy increased to 62%, and then followed up in cycle II, there was also an increase in the level of student self-efficacy to 67%. Thus, it can be concluded that classical guidance using digital-based game-based learning methods is effective in improving students' self-efficacy

Abstract

The personal qualities of a counselor are crucial in the implementation of guidance and counseling. A counselor must demonstrate themselves as a whole and authentic individual, capable of building unique, harmonious, dynamic, persuasive, and creative interpersonal relationships. These qualities serve as the driving force behind the success of counseling services. The purpose of this study is to describe the Development of Counselor's Personal Qualities Professionally in Counseling Services. The findings of this research indicate that a counselor's personal qualities encompass not only individual aspects such as empathy, patience, and integrity but also contextual factors like culture, religious values, and professionalism within the counseling practice context

Abstract

Education at junior high school level has an important role in shaping students' character and emotional development. One aspect that can influence emotional maturity is self-control. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between self-control and emotional maturity of class VIII students at SMPN 3. This type of research is quantitative research, this type of research is correlational. The subjects of this research were class VIII students of SMPN 3 TANGGUL for the 2023-2024 academic year. The instrument used was a self-control and emotional maturity questionnaire. Data were analyzed using product moment correlation techniques. The research results show a positive correlation between emotional maturity and self-control of 3.272505. Meanwhile, the r table with degrees of freedom (df 108-2 106) at a significance level of 0.05 obtained a t table value of 1.65936. which means the correlation in the research is significant.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the psychological dynamics of students who commit verbal violence while playing online games. A qualitative study with a phenomenological design was used as the basis for conducting the study. Data were collected using observation techniques and in-depth interviews with six students of SMPN 10 Surabaya. The collected data were then coded and analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of the study showed that psychological experiences: catharsis and locus of control were the main themes most often raised by students. In addition, the results of the analysis also showed that low emotional regulation and self-control skills triggered the emergence of toxic behavior in students. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that catharsis and locus of control are factors causing the emergence of verbal violence in students playing online games.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of internal locus of control on procrastination of students at SMP Negeri 3 Blora. The population in this study was 254 students, while the sample in this study was 155 students who were determined through a simple random sampling technique with a lottery method. Content validity was carried out using the expert judgment method, while construct validity used product moment correlation and reliability with alpha cronbach. The results of the internal locus scale validity test were 34 items with a reliability result of 0.991, while the procrastination scale was 22 items with a reliability result of 0.922. The data analysis used simple linear regression. Based on the results of data analysis, the Anova Table obtained a calculated F value of 23.291 with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), meaning that the regression mode can be used to predict participation variables. Other data in the Summary Table shows an R value of 0.363 which is greater than the r table of 0.157, meaning that there is a relationship between internal locus of control and academic procrastination in students at SMP Negeri 3 Blora of 13.2%, the rest is influenced by other variables that are not explained in this study. The results of this study can be used as reference material in compiling guidance and counseling programs that are preventive or problem solving for students

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of group counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques on the self-esteem of 7th-grade students in class VII C at SMPN 02. The method employed in this research is quantitative, utilizing an experimental design, specifically the one-group pretest-posttest design. The population under study consists of 30 students from class VII C, with 6 students selected as the sample through purposive sampling. The instrument used is a self-esteem questionnaire for middle school students. The results showed that the t-value was greater than the t-table (34.5824 > 2.13185), thus the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Therefore, the conclusion drawn from this study is that group counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques has an effect on students' self-esteem. It is hoped that this research will provide a positive contribution to the development of knowledge, particularly in the field of education, especially within the realm of guidance and counseling, in efforts to improve the quality of students, and serve as a reference for further research, thereby providing a foundation for future studies.

Abstract

Millennial and Generation Z students face increasingly complex career adaptation challenges due to the rapidly changing dynamics of the job market, including digitalization and market uncertainty. Low self-confidence and difficulties in managing career transitions are significant barriers in preparing them to enter the workforce. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of reframing techniques in career counseling to enhance the adaptability of Millennial and Generation Z students. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes the challenges of career adaptation and the potential for innovative interventions. The results indicate that students face obstacles such as low self-confidence and difficulties in managing career transitions. Reframing techniques are proposed as an approach to transform career adaptation paradigms through the integration of digital technology and consideration of contextual factors. The study concludes that career counseling using reframing techniques has the potential to comprehensively improve career adaptability, with recommendations for long-term measurement and the development of more integrative intervention models in higher education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reduction of academic burnout through role-playing techniques among students at SMPN 02 Silo. This research is a counseling guidance action research. The subjects of the study were all seventh-grade students at SMPN 02 Silo, totaling 177 students, with 6 students selected through purposive sampling as the sample. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires. The results showed that 84% successfully exceeded the success indicators, with the sample experiencing a significant decrease in academic burnout. These findings indicate that group counseling services using role-playing techniques can effectively reduce academic burnout among students at SMPN 02 Silo. This study recommends that similar programs be implemented in other schools to test the generalizability of the findings and to explore other factors that may influence student academic burnout, such as social support and environmental influences. Thus, it can be concluded that group counseling with role-playing techniques can reduce students’ academic burnout.
