Abstract

Stunting is a chronic health issue that significantly impacts the physical growth and cognitive development of children, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. This study aims to classify stunting status among toddlers in the Singgahan District by applying the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm, optimized using Grid Search Cross-Validation. The dataset consists of 642 toddler records with nine attributes representing nutritional and growth conditions. The classification process involves several stages, including data preprocessing, handling data imbalance using the SMOTE method, and model performance evaluation through 5-fold cross-validation. The results show that the SVM algorithm without optimization achieved an accuracy of 69.83%, while optimization with Grid Search Cross-Validation significantly increased the accuracy to 93.33%. These findings indicate that the application of SVM with hyperparameter tuning via Grid Search Cross-Validation is effective in improving classification accuracy for stunting status in toddlers. This research contributes to the use of machine learning in supporting decision-making processes in public health sectors.

Abstract

This work proposes a control strategy that keeps a buck converter in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) even with a low inductance. The architecture is a cascaded scheme with an outer voltage loop and an inner current loop featuring a valley clamp to prevent inductor-current collapse, complemented by feedforward and anti-windup under duty saturation. The approach is validated in simulation across inductances L=L=L= 40 mH, 10 mH, 5 mH, and 1 mH, and under both resistive and inductive (R–L) loads. Results show consistent suppression of current and voltage ripple. At L=1 mH, inductor-current ripple decreases from 12.44 Ap−p to 1.918 Ap−p (≈6.5×), while output-voltage ripple drops from 8.536 V to 0.63 V (≈13.6×), with the output regulated at 60 V. At L=10 mH, current ripple is reduced from 1.748 A to 0.337 A (≈5.2×) and voltage ripple from 4.855 V to 0.11 V (≈44×). The controller also damps R–L load effects so the inductor current never hits zero. These findings indicate that low-inductance operation is feasible while preserving power quality, stability, and enabling higher power density

Abstract

There is an increasing need for efficient and effective systems to monitor and control the nutrition of horticultural crops using the Internet of Things (IoT). This research aims to develop a system that can monitor and control the nutrition of horticultural crops with high accuracy using IoT-based sensors and actuators. The research method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD), which starts with listening to users to obtain data on problem needs, building systems by making mockups, and rapidly designing devices according to user needs. The developed IoT system was successfully implemented in the natural environment with Android-based software development. The monitoring data from the database shows that this IoT tool works well during cultivation, and there is no time lag in data retrieval. Monitored data includes pH, water temperature, air temperature, EC, and data recording time. IoT tools for nutrient control and monitoring can also help in irrigation and proper maintenance of plant nutrient needs. The developed IoT system can be used as a solution to optimize nutrition in horticultural crops. This system can control and monitor nutrients in plants using parameters such as water temperature, EC, humidity, air temperature, and water temperature measured by sensors. IoT tools for nutrient control and monitoring can also help maintain plant nutrient requirements through proper irrigation. Therefore, the development and implementation of IoT systems on a larger scale is recommended to increase efficiency and effectiveness in agriculture.

Abstract

Wireless LAN (WLAN) network quality in indoor environments is significantly affected by distance, building conditions, and physical obstacles such as concrete walls, glass, and other materials. Manually testing WiFi signal quality at multiple points is repetitive, time-consuming, and potentially leads to data inconsistencies. Therefore, this research aims to design and build a WiFi service coverage area testing system using a Raspberry Pi 3-based remote-controlled wheeled robot as a more efficient and controlled measurement alternative. The robot functions as a mobile platform that acts as a WiFi client to measure Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) values at various coordinate points in the test environment. The system was developed using a Raspberry Pi 3 as the control center, Python programming for the control system and RSSI reading using the PyWiFi library, and OpenCV for real-time camera display. The robot is controlled via a remote interface and moves according to a predetermined coordinate scheme. Tests were conducted at 35 measurement points, comparing the RSSI results from the robot prototype with the WiFi Analyzer application on an Android device. The test results show that RSSI variations are influenced by the distance from the access point and the physical environmental conditions. Data comparison shows an average error percentage of 5.51%, which indicates a system success rate of 94.49%.

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation and effectiveness of virtual laboratories in Internet of Things (IoT) education through microcontroller emulation, specifically with MicroPython support. Physical infrastructure constraints and operational costs have prompted a shift in learning paradigms toward virtual solutions. This paper compares the capabilities of two primary emulator categories—online solutions (Case Study: Wokwi) and offline solutions (Case Study: QEMU/Espressif Fork)—based on accessibility, emulation fidelity, and pedagogical effectiveness. The results indicate that online emulators like Wokwi excel in accessibility and ease of end-to-end integration (Wi-Fi simulation), which has been proven to yield significant improvements in student competency (average N-Gain score of 74.6%) in academic case studies. Functional case study implementation using Wokwi with Thingsboard demonstrates effectiveness in illustrating end-to-end IoT workflows from virtual sensors to the cloud via the MQTT protocol. Conversely, QEMU provides deeper register-level emulation accuracy, establishing it as a vital instrument for advanced firmware development and debugging. A hybrid implementation model and the use of free cloud platforms are recommended for introductory-level education.

Abstract

SME sustainability plays a crucial role in strengthening local and national economies; however, many enterprises face high risks due to limited access to capital, demand volatility, and disparities in operational capacity. This study aims to develop an SME sustainability prediction model using composite index–based pseudo-labeling and ensemble machine learning. Pseudo-labels are constructed from six key indicators revenue, profit, operating costs, average production volume, business scale, and number of employees and categorized into three sustainability classes. The dataset consists of 400 SMEs operating in Palembang City, with Random Forest based feature selection employed to identify the most relevant variables. The evaluated base models include Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, and Gradient Boosting, while ensemble approaches comprise Bagging, Boosting, and Stacking. The results indicate that Logistic Regression achieves perfect accuracy (100%) on the test set, suggesting potential overfitting, whereas the Stacking ensemble provides more stable predictions with an F1-score of 0.918. Statistical validation using the Friedman and Wilcoxon tests confirms the superior performance of ensemble models compared to single learners. The contributions of this study include an objective pseudo-labeling method for unlabeled datasets and the development of a robust predictive model that can support policymakers and SME stakeholders in identifying sustainability risks and implementing evidence-based interventions.

Abstract

Premature birth remains a global issue. The transition from hospital care to home care remains a challenge, as premature babies need to adapt to the environment outside the incubator. Premature babies are a major factor contributing to the risk of stunting. This community service programme aims to improve the ability of health workers to provide care to premature babies and to assist family support teams (TPK) in supporting families  with premature babies. The method used was participatory integrative continuity of care (CoC). This activity was carried out at the Kedungmundu Community Health Centre in Semarang, from 1 June to 30 August 2025. This activity was conducted through interactive lectures and discussions, participatory training, TPK peer support, and family assistance. The results of the activities showed an increase in the knowledge of health workers in the management of premature babies after hospitalisation, an improvement in the management of TPK assistance, and an increase in the ability of TPK to assist families in caring for premature babies. This activity can serve as a CoC model for all health workers and TPK to implement the In'prematuro system as a natural incubator premature babies.
