Abstract

Integration and Islamization of knowledge is one of the main keys in manifesting the goal of Islamic education. The purpose of education is not just aimed at Muslims produce individuals who have intellectual achievement, but the most important is karimah. In the integration of Science and Islam, the scientific philosophical assumptions are not built on the philosophy of materialism, as modern science that raises a lot of havoc for humans. But it is built on unity and hierarchy exists, which gave it to the nation, to the recognition of the Oneness of God as the Creator of all creations in the universe.

Abstract

This research studied on purification and modernization of Muhammadiyah in the Ranting Ulujami, South Jakarta. This research is conducted through qualitative method combining three data collection techniques; review on documents (books and journal articles), interview, and observation. This research reveals that purification and modernization as the main character of Muhammadiyah, are performed by its branch in the Ranting Ulujami. Regarding the purification of aspect of worship (mahdhoh), the Muhammadiyah leaders in the Ranting emphasize the need to strongly hold the hadith shohih and reject the hadith dhoif. Innovation in worship, for these leaders, is bid’ah. However, the implementation of the purification has been negotiated with the local religious tradition that has been long established in Ulujami. Tahlilan, a religious ceremony during the death of family, is an example. The Muhammadiyah in Ulujami negotiate it by producing new kind of tahlilan, or constructing new meaning of the tahlilan to prevent them from “cultural or religious clash” within the society. Meanwhile the modernization of social aspect is perceived by the leaders of Muhammadiyah in Ranting Ulujami as social piety. For them, a Muslim can be categorized as modern when he/she is not only concerned on their individual piety such as praying and reading the Qur’an, but also enthusiastic in implementing Islamic values related to public good.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of career development, training, teaching experience, and discipline on the education quality of Simpang Kiri Muhammadiyah Middle School in Subulussalam City. This study uses a quantitative method with a total sample of 30 teachers of Simpang Kiri Muhammadiyah Middle School. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that: (1) partially career development variables (X1) did not have a significant influence on the quality of education (Y) with a value of 09.1% and a significance level of 0.40 > 0.05, the hypothesis proposed by career development does not have a significant effect on the quality of education rejected. (2) Career Development (X1), Training (X2), Teaching Experience (X3) and Discipline (X3) contribute to the variable Quality of Education (Y) of 62.1% and the remaining 37.9% is influenced by other factors not included in this research variable, such as environment, leadership style, and other factors. Abstract

This article analyses the Sociology of Education that refers to the application of sociological knowledge, thinking techniques, and data collection in educational investigations. The sociology of education studies the process of education as social interaction, school as a social group, and as a social institution. Sociological analysis models of education include 4 types of analysis, (1) analysis of functional structural models with characters Emile Durkeim and Talcott Parsons, (2) analysis of conflict models with characters S. Bowles and H. Gintis and Louis Althuser, (3) analysis the critical sociology model with its characters Paulo Freire and Ivan Illich and (4) Analysis of the English and US versions of Micro-level Education. Abstract

This research focuses to explore the concept of moral education according to ibn Miskawih and Aristoteles. What are the similarities and differences in their opinions about morals education?. The main aspect of human self development is morality, namely the source of human behaviour that applied in everyday life. This research uses qualitative methods while the type of research is library research. Research is carried out based on the literature review. The results of the study is that the concept of ahlak education according to Ibn Miskawih an Aristoteles is related to character, soul and virtue, goodness and happiness, virtue and midpoint, early age education and akhlak purpose. The equality of the two concepts is that akhlak education is based on the soul of each individual. Abstract

The objective of this research is to explain about policy implementation of structuring and equity of the Civil Servants teacher at State High School in DKI Jakarta. In this evaluation research Stake’s Countenance Model is used. It consists of three components namely antecedents, transactions, and outcomes. The data were collected through document analysis, interview, and observations. Sources of data in this study consists of the educational administrators, school supervisors, school principals, and teachers. The results show that: policy implementation structuring and equalization of civil service teachers at high schools in Jakarta has not run optimally. There are aspects of the three components of the policy (antecedent, transactions, and outcomes) that should be improved, namely: program planning and socialization activities, mechanisms of activity implementation, as well as monitoring including guidance and supervision so as to provide a positive impact towards fulfilling the needs and redistribution of teachers, and improving the performance and competence of teachers.

Abstract

Islamic education is a concept of human education based on Islam. Various thought efforts in order to realize education according to Al-Qur’an and Sunnah such as the thoughts of Ibn Taymiyyah and Muhammad Abduh. The author analyzed their thoughts of education and its implementation in Indonesia now. The system, objectives, curriculum, methods and content of Islamic education materials can be innovated in a sustainable periods. This thesis is using a qualitative research. The authors collect data by using library research with content analysis techniques. The author tries to implement the incorporation of the Islamic education system from the two figures through an analysis that made into RPP according to the 2013 Curriculum. How to implement it by using the imtaq method. Imtaq method is a method of learning that is modified by researchers based on the Qur’an and Hadith on structural material. Abstract

Allah SWT told us  that in the story of the assabiquunal awwalun  there were lessons learned for the thinking people, which is able to contemplate the stories, finding her wisdom and advice, as well as digging of the stories are life lessons and instructions. Story method is one of God ways in educating and teaching people. This is in line with the conditions that psychologically human loves stories. Hopefully using story methods, we can deliver educational messageseffectively without anyone feeling patronized. In Qur'an, Allah tells examples (uswah hasanah)and lessons (ibrah)for all of us through the stories of the Prophet, figures, and the earlier people.  By referring to the stories found in Qur'an, we can conclude that the Qur'an is a way of life that explains the life of past, present and future. The Qur?an also teach us about the educational value of monotheism, intellectual, moral / moral, sexual, spiritual, democracy.

Abstract

Abstract Education is an attempt to find information that is useful for life. Learning to know something (learning to know) becomes an effort that is done in getting useful knowledge and that is not useful. Knowledge and experience gained are then applied to solve problems that arise and get a change. This mastery of knowledge will lead students to find their true identity and develop their potential. After all these learning processes are passed, a student will be able to adapt to the environment and carry out his role in the community.  Learning outcomes that students will get depend on the contribution of the curriculum that has been made. Therefore, in making a curriculum, it is pursued according to needs, not fragmented and can reflect all aspects thoroughly and contextually. The integrity requires a good character to make it clearer in bringing out a complete person.

Abstract

Astronomy is counted as a natural science that always gets the most attention of humans all the time. Lately, in Indonesia began to appear astronomical observatories that examine various things. The Falak Observatory of the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (OIF UMSU) is one that has played an important role in the development of astronomy in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra. In this observatory there are classical and modern astronomical tools. Among the role and contribution of this observatory is to provide information for students about the phenomenon and importance of astronomy, then training for students, astronomy studies, and others. The existence of this observatory is basically an appreciation of science and technology that are part of civilization.
