Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of Rural bridge construction to the economic development of the community, specifically focusing on Dusun Cemara, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. This research uses a qualitative approach; data sources are obtained from primary data through interviews with village officials and local communities. Secondary data is also used to support the research, data sourced from government documents, and relevant literature. Dusun Cemara with great potential in the fisheries sector and marine tourism, is still constrained by the lack of adequate road and bridge infrastructure, so the government built a suspension bridge with the aim of improving accessibility and community mobility. The results showed that post-bridge construction, there was an increase in accessibility which ultimately affected the economy in several vital local sectors. This finding is in line with economic development theory that sees infrastructure as a pillar of development. This research identifies various challenges related to infrastructure sustainability. Thus, policy recommendations emphasize increased community participation, budget allocation for ongoing maintenance to maximize the long-term positive impact of infrastructure development.

Abstract

This study examines the meaning of intercultural communication in the dowry tradition among the people of Donggo and Soromandi Districts, Bima Regency. This tradition includes a series of processions such as Wi'i Nggahi, Wa'a Mama, and Ampa Co'i, which are rich in cultural symbolism and social values. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with communication ethnography methods through observation and in-depth interviews with community leaders. The results show that communication between families at each stage of the tradition is key to creating understanding and strengthening relationships between two families from different cultural backgrounds. However, modernization has caused a shift in values in the implementation of this tradition, such as reducing face-to-face interaction and flexibility in determining post-wedding residence. Despite these changes, this tradition still holds important value as a local cultural identity and heritage. Thus, preserving the symbolic values and communication in this wedding tradition is essential to maintaining social harmony and enriching the cultural heritage of the Bima people amidst the changing times.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of Islamic politics within Indonesia’s democratic system, a country with a Muslim-majority population that consistently upholds democratic principles. The research aims to understand the direction of Islamic political transformation amid the challenges of modernity, pluralism, and contemporary political rationality. Grounded in Oliver Roy’s theory of Islamic political pragmatism, this study assumes that the failure of political Islam to confront modern realities does not signify the collapse of its ideology, but rather reflects a process of adaptation toward a more pragmatic and contextual form. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, analyzing academic literature such as journal articles relevant to the topic. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Islamic politics in Indonesia has undergone a pragmatization process, characterized by inclusive, adaptive, and issue-based strategic orientations focusing on universal values such as social justice, democracy, and welfare. This approach sustains the relevance of Islamic politics in a multicultural society. Consequently, understanding the transformation of Islamic politics is crucial for formulating inclusive and democratic public policies that can accommodate religious aspirations without provoking identity polarization, thereby strengthening substantive democracy in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the digitization of village fund management in Bina Baru Village, focusing on implementation conditions, stakeholder roles, and strategies for improving effectiveness. Using a qualitative approach with NVivo 12 Plus data analysis through in-depth interviews with Village Head, Finance Head, Village Operator, Village Secretary, and Community Leaders. The research results show that digitization of village fund management experiences paradoxical conditions with partial achievements in various aspects. Digital systems have been successfully implemented operationally internally and provide convenience for village officials in administrative and managerial functions. However, digitization faces significant challenges in public accessibility aspects where the community cannot access digital systems, so the principles of transparency and public accountability have not been optimally achieved. Digital transformation involves collaborative roles from various stakeholders with clear differentiation. Strategies to improve digitization effectiveness require a comprehensive approach including increasing accessibility through public digital portals, stabilizing technical infrastructure, developing human resource capacity, increasing community participation with digital consultation mechanisms, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Abstract

The establishment of Southwest Papua Province through Law No. 29 of 2022 has created opportunities for digital literacy transformation, yet it continues to face complex structural, social, cultural, and geographical challenges. Disparities in internet access, limited digital devices, high data costs, low digital skills, and differing perceptions of technological benefits are primary obstacles to equitable digital literacy. This study aims to identify these barriers and formulate effective digital literacy strategies grounded in local wisdom. The research employs a mixed-methods approach with a Convergent Parallel design, combining a quantitative survey of 270 respondents and qualitative literature analysis to achieve a comprehensive understanding. Findings indicate that digital literacy among the population of Southwest Papua is hindered by economic factors, infrastructure limitations, technical capacity gaps, and cultural sensitivities. Effective strategies for enhancing digital literacy emphasize community participation, adaptation to local cultural values, gender inclusivity, youth empowerment, and the strengthening of technical, ethical, and digital cultural competencies. In conclusion, digital literacy transformation in Southwest Papua must adopt a holistic, contextual, and sustainable approach to empower communities, reinforce social cohesion, and support economic development and digital governance in the post-establishment era of the new autonomous region.

Abstract

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for decades with complex, multidimensional impacts. However, traditional diplomatic approaches dominated by state and military actors often reach a dead end. In this context, the Women Wage Peace (WWP) movement, born after the 2014 Gaza War, emerged as a grassroots diplomatic force driven by women across ethnicities, religions, and political orientations in Israel. This study aims to analyze WWP's role and contribution in promoting peace through a gender-based and participatory approach. Using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach, this study explores WWP's activities and strategies based on organizational documentation, publications, and theoretical studies on grassroots diplomacy and UNSC Resolution 1325. The study results show that WWP has not only succeeded in building public awareness and political pressure through symbolic actions such as the Peace Train and March of Hope, but also established a cross-community network with Palestinian women through organized collaboration, regular dialogue, and joint actions such as the WWP – Women of the Sun declaration. This network enables the creation of relationships of trust and direct cooperation between citizens, which then become a driving force for social transformation. WWP emphasizes that women are not only victims of conflict but also key agents in creating sustainable peace. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating women-based grassroots diplomacy into peace policies in conflict zones.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of the free nutritious meal program. The aim is to find out the content of this program and its implementation in the field. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data was obtained through various online media, ministry websites, and other documents. The results showed that the free nutritious meal program was implemented on January 6, 2025. This program aims to improve human resources, reduce stunting rates, and increase student learning motivation. The targets are students, toddlers, and pregnant women. The implementation of the free nutritious meal program faces challenges in communication, resources, executor disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The government has conducted extensive socialization with various media platforms and in person, but remote areas still experience problems accessing digital information. In terms of resources, the large budget allocation has not been fully matched by infrastructure readiness, causing constraints in distribution. The disposition of implementers also plays an important role, with support from lower-level implementers. However, cases of rejection in some areas show the need for increased readiness in the field

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyse social changes in the self-philosophy of the Banda Islands community, known as the Banda people. This research identifies that their self-philosophy has always been influenced by dynamic historical changes, with the phases of construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction as the main processes in their social journey. The problem faced is how to examine the essence of the Banda people, which has been lost in the darkness of history, and restore healthy personality values to create a democratic and prosperous society. The method used is historical philosophical analysis to understand the social and cultural changes of the Banda people. The results of the study show that in order to revive the essence of identity and strengthen the intellectual and spiritual power of the community, it is necessary to reconstruct a philosophy of identity that is in line with diversity and innovation. In conclusion, reconciliation and reconstruction of the Banda people's philosophy of identity is very important to achieve shared prosperity, which requires strong support from the central and regional governments as well as various related parties.
