Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of transformation within the Gandangbatu Sillanan community in Tana Toraja Regency, tracing their shift from an administrative entity toward recognition as an indigenous territory. The main issue focuses on how colonial structures of power that placed Gandangbatu Sillanan under the Mengkendek District shaped the state’s way of seeing and governing indigenous domains, as well as how local communities responded through strategies of resistance and negotiation. This research employs a qualitative method, using data collection techniques through interviews and document studies, analyzed within the theoretical framework of political anthropology as proposed by James C. Scott. The findings reveal that the establishment of the Gandangbatu Sillanan District in 2007 represents a form of resistance successfully institutionalized through the bureaucratic channels of the state. This action reflects the indigenous community’s effort to rearticulate local identity and sovereignty within the framework of modern state law. In conclusion, the struggle of the Gandangbatu Sillanan community exemplifies the practice of everyday resistance within the context of Seeing Like a State, where local actors employ state instruments to reaffirm their existence and indigenous autonomy.

Abstract

The development of science and technology in the era of globalisation requires students to have adequate adaptability and psychological resilience in facing academic and social pressures. Resilience is an important ability for students to survive, bounce back, and thrive from various difficulties they experience. This study aims to describe the resilience of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students in Surakarta City based on their subjective experiences. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, involving seven MA students as key informants. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification-based conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that student resilience is in the good category, as demonstrated by their ability to regulate emotions, self-control, optimism, problem-solving skills, empathy, self-efficacy, and the ability to derive meaning and lessons from difficult experiences. Resilience in this study was measured using resilience indicators based on Reivich and Shatte's aspects, which were consistently demonstrated in the informants' narratives. Student resilience was also strengthened by the support of parents, teachers, and peers in dealing with academic and social pressures.

Abstract

The development of social media as a digital marketing platform encourages culinary businesses to implement content marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness. In sharia-based businesses, a key challenge lies in consistently integrating Islamic values into digital marketing practices. This study aims to analyze the sharia-based content marketing strategy implemented by the Instagram account @abatadonuts in building brand awareness. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through Instagram content observation, in-depth interviews with the informants consisting of the business owner and social media management staff, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, with data validity ensured through source triangulation. The findings indicate that sharia-based content marketing is manifested through transparent product promotion, the delivery of da’wah and Islamic values, the use of testimonials, educational content, and behind-the-scenes posts. The integration of honesty, trustworthiness, and information transparency contributes to strengthening brand recognition and brand recall. This study provides theoretical and practical contributions to the development of sharia-based content marketing for culinary MSMEs utilizing social media.

Abstract

On platforms such as Fiverr and Upwork, the relationship between workers, clients, and companies is organized into a new structure that resembles feudalism: the platform acts as a digital landlord extracting rent from every interaction, while the algorithm replaces the overseer in regulating the rhythm of production. Through a phenomenological ethnographic approach to illustrators in Indonesia, work experiences are recorded as a constant negotiation between freedom and control. Ratings, reviews, and response speed become indicators that determine visibility while simultaneously shaping the workers’ emotional consciousness. Anxiety, communication strategies, and self-management emerge as responses to the algorithmic power that continuously monitors them. The flexibility often promised by the platform transforms into a new disciplinary mechanism that subdues creativity under the logic of data. Within this digital space, immaterial labor intertwines with techno-feudal power, where creativity, emotion, and lived experience are ensnared within a rent structure no longer grounded in land, but in networks and algorithms.

Abstract

The problem of stunting is still a complex social and health issue in Indonesia, including in Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi, which has the highest prevalence of stunting in the province. People in this region have a different understanding of the concept of stunting compared to the medical definition used by the government. This research aims to analyze how the people of Jeneponto build an understanding of stunting through negotiations between local knowledge and medical knowledge. The research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological design. A total of 15 informants were selected purposively, consisting of parents of children under five, health workers, posyandu cadres, community leaders, and local government officials. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed inductively using manual coding techniques. The results of the study show that people do not view stunting as a health problem, but as a social opportunity to obtain nutritional assistance and economic support. The label "stunting" is interpreted as a survival strategy in a formal policy structure that provides access to resources. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that the stunting phenomenon in Jeneponto is the result of a social construction that reflects the adaptation of the community to state policies, so that efforts to handle it need to pay attention to the social context and local rationality of the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Greenpeace's advocacy campaign on forest fire prevention and peatland conservation as a solution to overcome the climate crisis. Greenpeace, as an international environmental organization, has been running advocacy campaigns to reduce land damage and support peatland conservation. This study employs a qualitative research method with qualitative data analysis (QDA) and adopts a descriptive approach. Data was obtained from online media sources, websites, and previous studies related to Greenpeace campaigns. Data processing was carried out using NVivo 12 Plus software, utilizing the Crosstab Query feature to visualize the relationship between variables and a Word Cloud to identify the dominant words in the data. The results of the analysis indicate that Greenpeace's advocacy campaigns play a significant role in driving change, both by raising public awareness about the importance of preserving peat ecosystems and by advocating for more sustainable forest management. Through these campaigns, the understanding of the need for more environmentally friendly management will continue to grow. The novelty of this research lies in the use of Nvivo-based digital analysis to map the interrelationships between campaign elements, including advocacy messages, communication approaches, and public responses, thereby producing a more systematic understanding of the effectiveness of Greenpeace's campaign strategies on the issues of forest fire prevention and peatland conservation

Abstract

Social media has become a primary space for Generation Z to express political views and engage in public participation, yet understanding of how this unfolds in the context of the 2024 Enrekang regional election remains limited. This study aims to describe the forms of digital political participation among Generation Z and the factors that shape their engagement. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on a literature review, this study analyzes scholarly works discussing digital political participation, youth behavior, and the use of social media within local political processes. The findings indicate that the digital activities of Generation Z are diverse, adaptable to both local and national issues, and influenced by social norms, technological competence, and access to digital media. Despite challenges such as limited digital understanding and the risk of inaccurate information, digital platforms remain a space actively used by young people to participate in local political dynamics. This study concludes that these patterns require further exploration through field research to better understand communication strategies that align with the characteristics of Generation Z.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of green leadership policies to support the digitalization of waste management through the Smart Waste Management (SWM) system in Enrekang Regency. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, encompassing needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The main innovation of this study was the development of a web-based application for real-time waste reporting and monitoring. The results showed positive support from stakeholders, particularly the Environmental Agency and community users. However, implementation still faces obstacles such as inadequate regulations, limited human resource capacity, and suboptimal digital infrastructure. Through a SWOT analysis, strategies were formulated to strengthen policies and increase capacity to address these challenges. The implementation of digital technology has been shown to improve operational efficiency, accountability, and community participation. The application's easily accessible features help overcome communication barriers and increase environmental awareness. However, network limitations and the need for training for sanitation workers are obstacles that need to be addressed. This study emphasizes the importance of concrete policy support and sustainable funding for the digital transformation of waste management to be effective and serve as a model for other regions.
