Abstract

This study aims to explore moral values within the local Kutai tradition, specifically through a Hadith study examining the Erau Tradition in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. The Erau tradition, as part of local culture, embodies values of character and ethics that align with Islamic teachings, particularly regarding solidarity, equality, and respect. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, gathering data from various scientific articles, journals, and other literary sources. The findings reveal strong Islamic moral values within the practice of the Erau Tradition, such as religiosity, social ethics, and mutual respect. These results indicate that local traditions can serve as a medium to reinforce Islamic values, particularly in moral education and character development. Thus, this study is expected to provide deeper insights into the relationship between local culture and Islamic values and to enrich local wisdom-based educational approaches.

Abstract

As the primary source of state revenue for funding various public needs, taxes are a financial obligation and a form of community contribution in encouraging social and economic development. A practical and fair tax revenue system can be an essential foundation for sustainable economic growth and the creation of social stability. This research discusses the concept of tax Islamization according to Syed M. Naquib Al-Attas. Al-Attas argues that tax Islamization aims to reform the tax system to follow Sharia principles, emphasizing justice, social responsibility, and economic sustainability. In the framework of Islamization, taxes are not only seen as a fiscal instrument but also as a spiritual and social means to achieve people's welfare. Al-Attas proposed the integration of zakat as the primary mechanism in replacing the conventional tax system, highlighting the importance of Islamic ethical values, such as monotheism, amanah, and Ihsan, in tax management. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results of this study show that the concept of tax, according to al-Attas, must be integrated with Islamic principles because there are secular elements in the existing tax concept and taxes can be a tool to achieve justice and the welfare of the people.

This article aims to outline the use of asbab al-nuzul in understanding the contextual meaning of Qur'anic verses and their relevance in everyday life. The method applied is conceptual analysis based on literature review, by tracing the relationship between the historical context of the verse's revelation (asbab al-nuzul) and contemporary interpretation of the Qur'ān's universal message. The study found that asbab al-nuzul has a strategic role in helping Muslims understand both the specific and universal meanings of Qur'anic verses. The main findings show that the application of asbab al-nuzul can be a practical guide in various areas of life, such as social justice, education, and religious tolerance. In addition, this study confirms that the flexibility of Islamic law allows for adjustments to the modern context without compromising the essence of its teachings. This article recommends the development of asbab al-nuzul studies to support a more relevant understanding of Qur'anic values in the contemporary era.

Abstract

This discussion highlights the problem of riba in the context of modern economics and offers solutions based on the principles of Islamic sociology of economics. Riba is considered a major obstacle to achieving social justice and economic well-being. Therefore, it is important to understand concepts such as zakat, sadaqah, and social responsibility in building a sustainable economic system. By implementing Islamic financial instruments, such as mudaraba and musharakah, communities can avoid riba practices and create more equitable alternatives. nnFurthermore, community-based economic development and community empowerment through zakat and sadaqah are the main focuses in poverty alleviation. Through cooperation and ethical business practices, it is hoped that economic challenges can be overcome, and shared prosperity can be improved. This comprehensive approach not only creates a just economic system, but also builds social awareness that is important in every financial transaction, in accordance with Islamic values.

Abstract

This research aims to critically examine the verses of the Koran which are often associated with domestic violence (KDRT) and how gender interpretation can influence the interpretation of these verses. The main question of this research is how verses related to domestic violence are interpreted from a gender perspective, and to what extent these interpretations support or reject violence in domestic relationships. The research method used is a literature study with a hermeneutic approach and gender analysis. This research found that contextual interpretations that consider gender justice are more supportive of protecting women's rights and rejecting all forms of domestic violence. These results show that an inclusive and gender-just understanding in interpreting the Koran can contribute to efforts to reduce domestic violence in society.

Abstract

This study examines technology-based financial management at MTs Miftahul Huda Kota Bandung using the Evaluasi Diri Madrasah (EDM) and e-RKAM for managing the madrasah’s finances. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that EDM is utilized to assess priority needs, which are then incorporated into the Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Madrasah (RKAM), with primary funding sources derived from BOS (school operational funds) and parental contributions (KBM fees). The implementation of technologies such as EDM, e-RKAM, and the Financial Information System (SIKOS) has enhanced efficiency and accountability in financial management. Challenges include system socialization among stakeholders and limited external funding sources. This study recommends increasing stakeholder training and diversifying funding sources to support the sustainability of madrasah financial management.

Abstract

In the fast-paced digital era, humans are often trapped in worldly routines and distracted by social media, leading to the neglect of their true potential and spiritual values. The concept of muhāsabah al-nafs in the Qur'an offers a solution to this identity crisis, as it emphasizes the importance of self-reflection for moral and spiritual improvement. Although the term is not explicitly mentioned, its values are reflected in verses such as Surah Al-Hashr [59]:18, which urges people to reflect on their deeds. Muhasabah also encompasses social and spiritual dimensions through concepts such as tazkiyah (purification), islah (reformation), tawbah (repentance), sabr (patience), and ihsan (excellence), which encourage inner purification, self-betterment, and positive contributions to society. This study aims to examine Qur'anic verses relevant to muhāsabah al-nafs, analyze their interpretations in classical exegeses such as Al-Iklil, Tarjuman Al-Mustafid, and Al-Maraghi, and relate them to contemporary life contexts, particularly among the younger generation. Using a qualitative approach with the thematic exegesis method (tafsir maudhū‘ī) by Al-Farmawy and literature review, the research reveals that scholars interpret introspection as a key to developing awareness of one’s actions and motivating change toward goodness. A wise person is one who can subdue their desires and work for the hereafter, while the heedless will remain trapped in hypocrisy and loss. This study is expected to enrich the body of knowledge and serve as a practical guide in building spiritual character amidst modern challenges.
