Abstract

In the context of education, Islam has a broad and comprehensive view of humans and society. Islamic education emphasizes the importance of education as a means to build humans who are noble, knowledgeable, and play an active role in society. This view has its roots in the teachings of Islam which integrate spiritual, moral, intellectual, and social aspects. Education in Islam is not just the transfer of knowledge and science, but also involves the development of strong character and personality. The concept of humans in the Islamic perspective assumes that each individual has unique potential and is given the responsibility to carry out the mandate of Allah SWT. Education becomes a tool to implement and instill universal Islamic values that are relevant to the global context, such as inclusiveness, sustainability, and human and social civilization. The results of this study reveal that the implementation of Islamic education significantly contributes to character building and the strengthening of social values within society. The principles of tawhid, noble character, social responsibility, and the pursuit of knowledge serve as the foundation for nurturing faithful individuals and creating a just and civilized society. This research emphasizes that Islamic education plays a crucial role in fostering collective awareness toward achieving a civil society rooted in moral and spiritual values. The study employs a qualitative library research approach by analyzing relevant literature and previous studies from Islamic education scholars.

Abstract

This paper describe critics about secularism in Western science, which separates religion from worldly aspects of life, emphasizing objectivity without the influence of religious values. This view contradicts Islamic Education, which integrates religious teachings in shaping individuals who are faithful, pious, and of noble character. The process of secularization shifts society away from spiritual values, creating gaps in understanding, especially in education. Islamic education focuses on the harmony between religion and science, unlike the secularist view that separates the two. As a result, secularism influences future generations to solve problems without considering religious values, which contradicts the holistic principles of Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sources of interpretation, general and specific methods used by as-Sayyid Muhammad Husain Thabāthaba’i in the book al-Mizan fi Tafsir al-Quran especially in the interpretation of Surah Al-Al-Qari’ah. This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive method, using primary data from the Tafsir book and secondary data from related books and scientific articles. Tafsir al-Mizan is a phenomenal work of Muhammad Husain Thabāthaba’i. His work is inseparable from the thoughts of the author who has a background of thought that is based on the ideological teachings he adheres to, namely Shia. Even so, the Tafsir uses the uslub of the Qur'an bil Qur'an and also contains many opinions of other commentators. So that the Tafsir is called a very complete Tafsir because it contains many fields of science. The special manhaj or method of writing Tafsir al-Mizan is to interpret the book sequentially in the mushafy, explaining the general picture and purpose of the letter or verse being interpreted, when interpreting a particular letter or verse citing the opinions of Al-Qur'an reviewers and also explaining their own opinions, having a separate section on the discussion of narrations, specializing in the discussion of philosophical aspects, and providing a general conclusion from the verse or letter being studied.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low initial reading ability of second-grade students at SDN 1 Nagrikidul. One of the solutions to address this issue is by using the Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) learning model aided by e-flashcard media. This study aims to improve the beginning reading skills of students in the second grade at SDN 1 Nagrikidul, which consists of 25 students, with 15 girls and 10 boys. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of 1 meeting and four stages of learning, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in December 2024. The data collection techniques included documentation and observation. Data analysis involves qualitative data analysis techniques. The assessment instruments consist of observation sheets for learning activities and student activity sheets. Based on the results of data analysis, the initial reading ability of second-grade students at SDN 1 Nagrikidul in the pre-cycle was obtained with an average of 41%. In Cycle I, the average score increased by 88%. In cycle II, there was a significant increase of 100% with 25 students achieving mastery. It can be concluded that the application of the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (VAK) learning model assisted by e-flashcard media can improve the initial reading skills of second-grade students at SDN 1 Nagrikidul.

Abstract

Thematic interpretation plays a crucial role in shaping an education system that focuses not only on academic aspects but also on students' character and morals. This method allows for in-depth analysis of educational themes in the Quran, ensuring its teachings are relevant to modern conditions. Thus, thematic interpretation can serve as the basis for developing a comprehensive Islamic education curriculum, integrating Islamic values into every aspect of learning. Islamic religious education teaching materials must align with the national curriculum established by the Ministry of Education and Culture, designed to provide a balanced religious education encompassing spiritual, moral, and intellectual aspects.Teaching must integrate Islamic values, including faith (aqidah), morals, and sharia (Islamic law), so that students can apply these values in their daily lives. It is crucial to use credible and relevant sources in developing teaching materials, including classical texts, Quranic interpretations, hadith, and contemporary literature. Teaching materials must also be adapted to the local context and students' needs to ensure they are relevant to the challenges they face. The selection of teaching materials must be based on the desired competency standards, encompassing students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The learning process should involve ongoing evaluation to gauge students' understanding of the material. In the digital age, the use of technology such as educational apps and e-learning platforms can enhance the effectiveness of Islamic religious learning by providing interactive features that facilitate independent learning. With this approach, it is hoped that students will not only understand theory but also internalize values in their daily lives, making education a tool for transforming students into ideal human beings.

Abstract

This study examines Fazlur Rahman's thoughts on the reconstruction of Islamic thought, focusing on the role of ijtihad and the relevance of the Qur'an in the context of religious moderation in Indonesia. Rahman emphasizes the importance of ijtihad as a critical method in understanding sacred texts, which allows for the adaptation of Islamic teachings to social dynamics and the challenges of the times. He argues that a contextual understanding of the Qur'an can produce interpretations that are more relevant and applicable to contemporary society. By exploring key concepts in his thought, this article aims to demonstrate how Rahman's approach can provide solutions to problems faced by Muslims in the modern era, as well as inspire dialogue between tradition and innovation in Islamic studies. The method used in this study is a library research method, taking primary references as the main foundation and secondary references as supporting sources. Through this perspective, the reconstruction of Islamic thought is not only a necessity or discourse, but also an opportunity to strengthen the values of justice, humanity, and sustainability in an Islamic society.
