Abstract

This research aims to improve the mastery of Arabic vocabulary through the use of the interactive game media WordWall at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Gending, Probolinggo Regency. The research method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) with 17 eighth-grade students as the research subjects. This research was conducted in two stages, namely the pre-cycle and cycle 1, with measurements of learning outcomes before and after the use of WordWall. The research results show that before the use of WordWall media, the percentage of students achieving mastery was 82%, while after implementation it increased to 100%. This improvement reflects the effectiveness of using WordWall in facilitating students' understanding and memorization of vocabulary, while also enhancing their motivation and engagement in learning. In conclusion, the use of WordWall media has proven to be an innovative and effective method in improving Arabic vocabulary mastery. The implementation of technology in language learning can help students achieve better learning outcomes, as well as create a more engaging and interactive learning experience.

Abstract

Green finance has gained significant momentum in recent years, but its alignment with Islamic finance principles remains under-explored, particularly in the context of carbon pricing and carbon trading mechanisms. This is illustrated by the fact that climate change has prompted the global community to adopt various strategies, including the development of carbon market mechanisms. Exploring the potential of the carbon market as an effective tool in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while considering the principles of Islamic finance. This study aims to develop Sharia-based sustainable financial instruments as a strategy to address the impacts of climate change through the utilization of the carbon market.  This research method uses a qualitative approach that combines bibliometric analysis, policy document reviews, and expert interviews. This study identifies critical gaps in the integration of Islamic finance with carbon market mechanisms and the design of sustainable financial instruments that comply with Sharia principles. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-exploratory method. A qualitative approach is used to understand in depth the concepts, phenomena, and characteristics of Islamic financial instruments and how they can be implemented in the carbon market. The findings show that Islamic finance has great untapped potential to mobilize ethical capital and share risks for climate-friendly projects, especially in Muslim-majority countries and emerging economies. Nevertheless, regulatory standardisation, sharia governance frameworks, and investor education remain key challenges that must be addressed to enhance the scalability and credibility of such instruments. By bridging the gap between Islamic finance and carbon economy strategies, this study contributes to the growing discourse on green Islamic finance and offers practical policy recommendations to strengthen the role of Islamic financial institutions in achieving both national and global net-zero targets.

Abstract

Burnout among elementary school teachers is a significant issue that affects both the quality of education and the mental health of teachers. This study aims to identify the contributing factors to teacher burnout in elementary schools based on recent academic literature. A systematic literature review method was employed, analyzing both national and international journal articles. The findings indicate that excessive workload, emotional demands, lack of social support, and low professional recognition are the main causes of burnout. These results contribute to the development of targeted intervention strategies to enhance teacher well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the role of caregivers and students in building an environmental culture based on the eco-pesantren concept at Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Probolinggo. This pesantren is one of the Islamic educational institutions that has begun to integrate environmental awareness values into students’ daily activities. The environmental culture developed includes greening activities, cleanliness management, waste sorting, and the habituation of environmentally friendly behavior through religious approaches and exemplary conduct. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a field study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with caregivers, administrators, and students, direct observations of environmental activities, and documentation of various pesantren programs. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive Miles and Huberman model through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that caregivers play a central role in instilling ecological values through exemplary behavior, guidance, and spiritual reinforcement. Meanwhile, students actively implement these values through participation in environmental activities. The formation of environmental culture in this pesantren is not only supported by formal regulations but also by social influence, religious values, and a continuous habituation process within pesantren life.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of BUMP (Pesantren-Owned Enterprises) in supporting the economic independence of Islamic boarding schools, analyze the forms of BUMP’s contribution to the sustainability of education at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, and examine the management strategies of BUMP in ensuring the sustainability of both the economic and educational aspects of the pesantren. This study employs a naturalistic qualitative approach with phenomenological analysis, supported by the theoretical frameworks of Sustainable Development Theory, Human Capital Theory, and the Triple Bottom Line. These three theories are applied to examine the relationship among the economic, educational, and social dimensions that are integrated within BUMP’s management system. Thus, this research not only evaluates business success from an economic standpoint but also its contribution to the continuity of education. The findings of the study highlight six main strategies in BUMP management: strengthening Sharia-based governance through SOPs and financial report digitalization; business diversification encompassing trade, laundry, agribusiness, and digital platforms; integrating business with education through skill laboratories and student internships; strengthening alumni networks and strategic partnerships; digitizing financial management with Accurate and IPOS Ultimate applications; and developing a grand design for sustainability that synergizes economic, educational, leadership development, and physical infrastructure aspects. These findings affirm that BUMP can serve as a model for pesantren economic independence that is relevant to the challenges of the modern era while maintaining the identity of Islamic values.

Abstract

2025 will be a crucial phase for Indonesia in maintaining fiscal sustainability amidst the increasing need for development financing and new tax policies, particularly the adjustment of the Value Added Tax (VAT) rate to 12% and the planned implementation of a carbon tax. This situation occurs when the government debt ratio is approaching 40% of GDP, thus creating political challenges as well as demands for effective public policy. This study aims to analyze the political dynamics accompanying the implementation of the new tax policy and public policy strategies in managing the national debt burden sustainably. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach through literature studies, analysis of official documents (the 2025 State Budget, Financial Notes, tax regulations), and interviews with key informants. The results show that the success of fiscal consolidation in 2025 depends on three main factors: (1) the design of a selective VAT policy that takes into account aspects of social justice and purchasing power protection, (2) credible debt management through fiscal rule discipline and fiscal risk transparency, and (3) political legitimacy built through public communication and social compensation. The conclusion of this study confirms that the new tax policy can only be effective if supported by political stability, central-regional coordination, and an inclusive communication strategy. These findings are expected to provide academic and practical input in formulating Indonesia's fiscal policy in the consolidation era.

Abstract

This study examines the Apitan tradition as a form of Living Hadith in the social life of the people of Tlogorejo Village, Karangawen District, Demak Regency. This tradition is carried out every month of Dzulqa'dah as a form of gratitude for a safe and peaceful village, an abundance of sustenance, and as a means of strengthening friendship and maintaining harmony between residents. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and the hadith living method, this study highlights how Saw's prophetic values such as ukhuwah, social concern, and spiritual education are internalized in local cultural practices. In contrast to similar traditions in other areas that are colored by puppet performances, Apitan in Tlogorejo is filled with public recitation and tambourine performances as a form of adaptation to Islamic values. The results of the study show that the Apitan tradition has a significant impact on the social, religious, cultural, economic, and educational aspects of the community. This tradition is not only the preservation of culture, but also a means of actualizing the values of the hadith that are alive and developing in the local context. Thus, Apitan reflects a harmonious meeting between religion and culture that is able to strengthen the Islamic identity of the community within the framework of local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning approach of the Taisirul Kholaq Book in shaping the honesty character of students at the Al-Barokah Islamic Boarding School in Probolinggo Regency. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of weak implementation of honesty values among students even though honesty material has been taught textually and routinely in learning activities. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include participatory observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and focus group discussions (FGD). Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the Taisirul Kholaq Book is implemented through contextual and narrative learning methods, supported by the exemplary role of ustadz and the Islamic boarding school environment that creates a positive moral climate. However, the internalization of honesty values is not optimal due to the rote approach, social pressure, and low affective involvement of students. This study recommends holistic learning that integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects in a balanced manner.

Abstract

This study explores the Dulkadiran tradition in Besuk Bulan Rajab Village as a medium for strengthening spirituality and social solidarity within the local Muslim community. Dulkadiran, held every Rajab to honor Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, embodies spiritual teachings and functions as a communal ritual. The objective of this research is to analyze its cultural-religious meaning, its contribution to community cohesion, and its influence on individual and collective spirituality. Using a qualitative approach, this study applies participatory observation and in-depth interviews with key community members, such as village elders and ritual participants. The findings indicate that Dulkadiran is not merely religious practice, but also a mechanism for reinforcing solidarity through collective participation, including food preparation and event organization. This tradition strengthens cooperation and mutual support through shared worship and food distribution. The novelty of this research lies in highlighting Dulkadiran’s dual role as spiritual practice and social unifier in modern contexts.

Abstract

This article discusses the scientific thinking of Imre Lakatos, a Hungarian philosopher of science who combined important elements of Karl Popper's falsification theory and Thomas Kuhn's scientific paradigm, thus giving birth to the idea of a scientific research program methodology. In this framework, science is seen as a process of gradual theory evolution through a structured and dynamic research program. Lakatos emphasized that the development of science is not simply determined by a single piece of evidence that refutes an old theory, but rather through a series of theories developed based on strong basic principles. His research program model consists of three main elements, namely: (1) Hard core as a core principle that cannot be challenged, (2) Protective belt in the form of auxiliary hypotheses that can be modified to protect the core of the theory, and (3) Series of theories that show the continuity and development of theories in the research program. This approach is not only relevant in the natural and social sciences, but also makes a major contribution to the development of Islamic science. With an integrative approach, Lakatos' thinking is able to offer a strong, logical, and flexible philosophical framework to advance science in a multidisciplinary and transformative manner.
