Abstract

Spelling is the depiction of language sounds in writing, including the use of letters and punctuation marks. Meanwhile, error analysis is an investigation into something related to deviations that occur. Therefore, this research aims to identify spelling errors in writing papers by 7th semester students of the PBSI Study Program, Darul Ulum Lamongan Islamic University. This research uses qualitative methods. The data for this research are spelling errors in the form of use of capital letters, punctuation, italics, use of prepositions in the 7th semester student papers of the PBSI Study Program at Darul Ulum Lamongan Islamic University. Data collection techniques use listening, reading and note-taking techniques. Analysis of this research data means carefully reading the data in the form of spelling errors that have been obtained, then recording each spelling error and making conclusions. From the research results, 25 errors were obtained, including: 6 data errors in writing capital letters, 4 data errors in using italics, 9 data errors in using punctuation marks, and 6 data errors in using prepositions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the acquisition of words, sentences, and meanings of mildly mentally retarded children aged 10-17 years at SLB C Autism State Tuban. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation, interview, recording, transcription, and note-taking techniques. The results of this study reveal that mildly mentally retarded children aged 10-17 years master the types of nouns, verbs, adjectives, numerals, pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, and conjunctions. Types of verb sentences, basic sentences, and sentence transformations of the process of elimination and addition. Mastery of meaning that is able to conceptualize meaning based on the field of meaning and distinguishing features of meaning.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the themes and moral values contained in the fairy tale Kepingan Emas dari Langit uploaded on the YouTube account Riri Cerita Anak Interaktif. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with the method of reading and recording. Data collection from 6 in-dicators of moral values found in the story, the results of the analysis show that this fairy tale teaches values such as sincerity, fortitude, independence, gratitude, filial piety to parents and not greedy. The moral values contained therein are important for children's character building and can serve as an effective educational tool.

Abstract

The development of digital media has changed the pattern of public communication, including in delivering persuasive messages. This study aims to analyze the rhetorical strategies used by Ferry Irwandi in a YouTube video entitled How To Be a Good Storyteller. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method through observation and content analysis techniques. The focus of the study refers to three elements of classical rhetoric: speaker credibility (ethos), emotional appeal (pathos), and logical reasoning (logos). The results of the study show that Ferry Irwandi consistently integrates these three elements in delivering his narrative. He builds ethos through personal experience, activates pathos with a relaxed and familiar language style, and composes logos sequentially and systematically. This study concludes that classical rhetorical strategies remain relevant and effective in increasing the persuasive power of communication in the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) method in Indonesian language learning through ontological, epistemological, and axiological perspectives. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to 12 national journal articles, the study results show: (1) Ontologically, VCT views values ​​as an educational reality that can be developed; (2) Epistemologically, VCT emphasizes critical thinking processes and conscious decision-making; (3) Axiologically, VCT has a positive impact on the formation of character, empathy, and emotional involvement of students. It is concluded that the VCT model is effective in internalizing noble values ​​through reflective, meaningful, and communicative learning.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) supported by Dart Board media in teaching anecdotal text writing to develop students’ creative thinking skills. The research aims to describe both the instructional process and the impact of PBL with Dart Board media on students’ anecdotal writing. A qualitative research design was employed, involving classroom observations, interviews, and document analysis conducted in one senior high school in Padalarang. The participants consisted of 31 students. Data were analyzed through data reduction, display, verification, and cyclical coding across two instructional cycles. The findings indicate that the application of PBL assisted by Dart Board media positively influenced the learning process, as reflected in increased student participation, greater diversity of ideas, and improved originality in students’ anecdotal texts. However, the study also identified challenges, particularly the extended instructional time required for effective implementation. These findings suggest that while PBL integrated with interactive media has strong potential to enhance creative writing skills, careful consideration of time management and classroom space is essential to maximize its effectiveness. Overall, this study supports the use of interactive and problem-based instructional strategies to foster creativity in writing instruction

Abstract

Language reflects the culture and identity of a community, including in the naming of places that hold historical and social value. This study aims to describe the meaning, cultural value, and local identity in the naming of tourist attractions in the multicultural city of Semarang. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a narrative approach in line with interviews and online data searches, this study analyzes names such as Lawang Sewu, Sam Poo Kong, Kota Lama, Blenduk Church, Kauman Mosque, and Ronggowarsito Museum based on their lexical and associative meanings. The results show that place naming not only functions as a geographical marker but also reflects the history, cultural acculturation, and local wisdom of the people of Semarang. Thus, place naming in Semarang becomes a symbol of the integration of language, culture, and local identity that shapes the city's unique character.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes learning flexibility, student differentiation, and character development through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile. In this context, textbooks play an essential role as a medium for shaping values, knowledge, and skills. Literary works in Indonesian language learning function not only as reading materials but also as media for developing moral and aesthetic sensitivity. This study aims to analyze the literary content in the Grade VIII Indonesian language textbook of the Merdeka Curriculum and its relevance to the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method on two short stories and eight poems, the results show that 53 out of 184 pages (28.80%) contain literary materials. The literary texts contribute to fostering students’ sense of humanity, faith, and creativity. The most dominant dimensions represented are “Faith in God Almighty and Noble Character” and “Creativity,” while “Mutual Cooperation” and “Global Diversity” are less represented.

Abstract

The development of information technology has transformed the landscape of language education, making the Online Great Dictionary of the Indonesian Language (KBBI) a vital digital lexicography tool. This study aims to analyze the role, usage patterns, and limitations of the Online KBBI as a lexical reference source for students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI). This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling techniques on students who actively use the Online KBBI for academic purposes. The results show that the Online KBBI plays a strategic role as a validator of word standardization, spelling, and meaning in scientific writing. However, significant limitations were also found related to network accessibility, delays in updating new terms, and definitions that are sometimes too concise for in-depth analysis. Therefore, optimization is needed through routine integration in learning and digital literacy training so that the Online KBBI is not only used for quick searches, but also as a comprehensive language learning medium.

Abstract

This study aims to describe various forms of language errors in the writing aspect of official letters composed by seventh-grade students of MTs Sunan Drajat Sugio using a qualitative descriptive method. The data were obtained from fifteen official letters written by these students. Data were collected through testing, observation, and note-taking techniques, using test questions and document-based corpora as research instruments. The data analysis procedure consisted of several stages, namely data selection, error identification, classification, analysis, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed several types of errors related to spelling, including: (1) punctuation errors—comprising period errors (4 instances), comma errors (4 instances), and slash errors (2 instances); (2) capitalization errors (11 instances); and (3) preposition or prefix misuse (6 instances).
