Junior high school’s students should be able to determine fraction and alsoimplement the concepts of fraction to solve mathematics problem. However,in reality, so many mistake that occur for students in solving mathematicsproblem in the operation of fraction. The intelligence of students also affectsthe number of errors in solving the fractional counting operations. So, thepurpose of this study was to determine students' errors in solving the problemof fractional counting operations based on the level of students’ intelligence. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research results showthat the different category of students’ intelligent produce differentmathematical problem solving abilities. Students with low intelligencecategories make many errors in their completion. On the other hands, thestudent with high intelligence category make a few errors. DOI: https://doi.org/10.30862/jhm.v1i2.1041

Development of Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) a learner needs guidance, help from adults or peers with a higher skill set in order of achieve a higher level of development. The level of knowledge or gradual knowledge is called by Vygotsky as scaffolding. Scaffolding means giving learners helps during the early stages of learning, then reducing the quantity of help and giving the learner opportunity to immediately take on the greater responsibility, after being able to do tasks on their own. One in the statistics Lesson program is Statistical Method, which requires high-level thinking since the students are hoped to be able to analyze statistics inference. In this case, students need help during the learning process in order to understand the concept of Statistical Method material optimally. The help could be in the form of guidance, encouragement, outlining problems into other forms that enable students to be independent. By implementing the ZPD process in the form of scaffolding stage, students are able to understand concepts of Statistical Method material optimally.

Students who have a good number sense can think and reason flexibly use numbers to solve problems, find answers that don't make sense, understand how numbers can be separated and put together in different ways, see connections between number operations, do mental calculations, and make reasonable estimates. Whereas, on the other hand, students with a poor number sense tend to depend on procedures rather than reasons, often not paying attention when answers or estimates don't make sense and have limited numerical reasoning. Therefore planting an understanding of numbers with the right method must be done early. This study aims to know how can PMRI approach context fabel construct early elementary school students understanding in finding number relation. Design research method used to reach this goal and tested in SDN Angkasa Penfui with 36 early grade 1 elementary school students as the subject. The results show that the PMRI approach using fable as a context construct students understanding in finding number relation flexibly. DOI: https://doi.org/10.30862/jhm.v1i2.1053

The purpose of this study was to study and analyze students' problems in problem-solving skills seen from their mathematical disposition level of the students on 12th grade class of SMA IT Fithrah Insani. Method of this study is descriptive- qualitative research. From 35 students, there were three students taken as samples, consisting of a student with high disposition mathematical ability (T), a student with medium disposition mathematical ability (S), and a student with low disposition mathematical ability (R). The result of the study shows that there is a difference in the average score of students in each level of the mathematical disposition towards the conclusion of the students’ mathematical problem-solving ability test (ANOVA Test-One way). Following up on these differences, researchers identified student achievement and misconceptions on each mathematical problem-solving indicators. The results of the study show that all the student with high and medium disposition mathematical ability could not fulfill the indicators of the ability of mathematical problem solving, such as (1) understand the problem, (2) recheck the answer while all the student with low disposition mathematical ability could not fulfill all indicator of the ability of mathematical problem solving.

Buna is one of the woven motifs from Insana, East Nusa Tenggara Province that uses geometric motifs like a rhombus. Rhombus is a challenging material so students only memorize the formula without understanding the concept.  In order to overcome this problem, a weaving learning based on ethnomathematics has been proposed. The purpose of this study is to understand the impact on the learning achievement of students of the implementation of a realistic mathematical approach based on ethnomathematics. This is a quantitative study using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population for this study is all fifth-grade students of SDN Bestobe, Insana District. Pretest and posttest results obtained are used for the analysis. The statistical test used is a paired sample t-test. The results show that the implementation of realistic mathematical learning based on ethnomathematics has a substantial influence on the learning achievement of mathematics students. These results contribute to adding empirical evidence related to the relationship between Ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Education approaches to student achievement.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning type TAI (Teams Assisted Individualization) model according to the results of junior high school mathematics learning in material of set. The method used was quasi-experimental with the post-test only given to control group chosen taking design. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique, and two classes by considering students' initial abilities. The control class was treated by using conventional models while the experimental class uses the TAI type cooperative learning model. Data were analyzed by t-test technique. This study revealed that the learning outcomes of students who studied with the cooperative learning model type TAI (67.75) were higher compared to conventional learning models (54.45). Testing the significance of differences with the t-test shows that t count = 2.206 > t table = 2.024, meaning that there are significant differences between the two groups. It can be concluded that the TAI model is more effective as it is reflected on students' higher scores compared to those who were treated with conventional models.
