Abstract

The issue of increasing the structure indicates an increase in meaning, which has been an issue since the era of Ibn Jinni (392 AH). The researcher saw that it appeared several times in Ibn Taymiyyah’s works to support his opinion when he derived rulings on Arabic grammatical and morphological issues. This research reveals the application of this issue from the sayings of Ibn Taymiyyah and compares it with the opinions of previous grammarians. The method used in this research is the descriptive and analytical method, and it was implemented by collecting applications for this issue from the books of Ibn Taymiyyah, extracting them, and comparing them with what was mentioned in the books of grammarians. This research reveals the phenomena of increasing the structure, indicating an increase in meaning, according to Ibn Taymiyyah, in all three elements of the language: sound, morphology, and structure. At the sound level, three topics are addressed: grammatical, singular, dual, and plural signs, as well as linguistic differences between words. At the level of morphology, there are two topics: increasing the hamza and extending the sound. At the level of structure, three issues are discussed: increasing restrictions, repeating pronunciation, and increasing prepositions. Ibn Taymiyyah saw a strong and constant relationship between the structure and the meaning. The strength of the structure is due to the strength of the meaning, and its weakness is due to its weakness. This issue exists in all the various languages in the world. The researcher also cited the sayings of grammarians commenting on Ibn Taymiyyah’s opinion. Perhaps this research contributes to thinking about the Arabic language and how it is taught.

Abstract

Dreams are a precious window into the human soul, where all the waves of minds, emotions, and cultures are concentrated. On this basis, this study deals with phenomena that affect general human consciousness and even the daily life of Arab students. Therefore, this study used the scientific and professional literature on dreams to identify their relationship to Arab students' engagement in dreaming during sleep and wakefulness and how this influences dream content. The sample for this study is selected from among the undergraduate students of Prince Sattam University, Al-Kharj, after obtaining approval from the university ethics committee. The sample was selected from male and female college students, including the College of Education and Business Administration. A total of 79 students participated in the study. The participants were men and women. The structured questionnaire consists of several derived sleep components, including dream motivation, dream recall, and the effects of dreams on behavior. The researcher obtained a correlation coefficient, proving that the questionnaire's scale and internal consistency are very high for these items. Most dreams were forgotten, and reports of these dreams reflected waking experiences in particular. Based on this data, the researcher concluded that "students' dreams had little impact on academic and general decisions," meaning that dreams did not have much impact on students.

Abstract

This research focuses on studying Arabic language errors in conversation, specifically nabr wa tanghim, in phonological studies. This study aims to describe language errors, classify them, analyze their form, evaluate errors, and examine the primary factors that contribute to these errors. The subjects in this research were students of the PBA Masters Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The approach used in this study is descriptive-qualitative, with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used is a structured approach that includes data collection, identification, error analysis, error classification, determining error patterns, and offering evaluation. The results of the investigation revealed that language errors commonly made by students during oral communication, especially in the theme ofندوة عن العولمة, were still relatively high. Many errors occur in interrogative sentences and statements. Thisis caused by students' lack of understanding regarding the rules of nabr wa tanghim. Students pay more attention to duration, fluency, and morphological aspects in conversation and are confident if they can babble. Two categories of factors cause language errors: internal factors, which originate from within the speaker, and external factors, which arise from the influence of the environment around the speaker. The alternative to this problem is to understand more deeply the rules of nabr wa tanghim, often listen to pronunciations from native speakers, practice and evaluate independently, and utilize learning media.

Abstract

It aims to describe of the provisions of Islamic Sharia of encrypted digital currencies and its linguistic implications. Using a scientific jurisprudential methodology. It also discusses the search for the credibility of encrypted digital currencies that comply with the provisions of Islamic Sharia. The results that production is a basis in addition to the value that financing contributes and its linguistic implications, with the most prominent costs as high. Efficiency of Islamic financial financial services, and that the engineering of financial products is based on innovations and creating new solutions for financial management or reproducing the trader in traditional financial finance, with the participation of a strong entitlement basis and participation in many of the basis of effective management of Islamic finance systems, and a statement of the trading rule in those currencies, This is to achieve economic fundamentals and legal credibility and its linguistic implications.

Abstract

Contrastive analysis is valuable in second language teaching due to certain assumptions: learning difficulties are wholly or partially caused by differences between the mother tongue and the foreign language; the more significant the difference between the first language and the second language, the more pronounced the learning difficulties become; the results of the comparison between the first language and the second language are necessary to anticipate the problems and errors that may arise when learning a foreign language. This study aims to uncover the process and steps of contrastive analysis between Badi' science materials and the Indonesian language style. In this study, it yields Contrastive Analysis Steps: first, description—this step involves two stages, namely explaining the definition of Badi' science materials and elucidating the themes of language styles and their characteristics; second, clarifying the similarities and differences between Badi' science materials and Indonesian language styles; third, predicting difficulties. The author employs Clifford Prator's theory to predict or anticipate the challenges of learning Badi'.

Abstract

The Arabic diphthongs have two sounds, which are /aɪ/ and /aʊ/, each in its nouns and weak verbs. This study analyzes phonological rules related to Arabic diphthongs and syllable segmentation among Arabic diphthongs. Qualitative methods are applied in this research, and the content analysis is conducted using Chomsky and Halle’s phonological rules (1968) and Crowley's (1987) theory to analyze all data. The data are collected from the Arabic dictionary called Mu’jam Taşrīf al-`af’āl al-‘arabiyyah and the data are then divided into two categories, namely sound /w/ and /y/. The study observes that the Arabic diphthong sounds are found in nouns and defective verbs with suffixes other than /a/, /t/, and /w/. The study finds that in Arabic, diphthong sounds are deleted in defective verbs when the suffix consists of two phonemes. These sounds transform into long vowel sounds upon adding/a/, indicating the third-person singular male in the past tense. The suffixes /t/ and /w/ similarly convert the diphthong to a primary vowel. This study concludes that phonological changes occur more frequently in Arabic defective verbs than in nouns, following specific rules. Additionally, syllable segments change when the glide sounds forming diphthongs are deleted.

Abstract

This study uses innovative Augmented Reality Technology to analyze a new model design of Quranic reflection through learning Arabic vocabulary for adult learners with hearing impairments. Learning the Arabic vocabulary contained in the Al-Quran and understanding its meaning will facilitate the process of reading, understanding, memorizing, and practicing it. Nevertheless, Tadabbur Al-Quran, through a vocabulary approach based on Augmented Reality Technology for deaf adult learners, has still not been researched and developed. Therefore, a new model should be well-designed and appropriate to their needs and preferred learning styles. This study uses the needs analysis model of Hutchinson and Waters, 1987 which consists of Lacks, Needs, and Wants to collect data. The study findings show that most respondents do not know the Arabic vocabulary in Juz 30 related to humans, animals, plants, and other natural creations and phenomena. In addition, most of them agreed to learn the Arabic language in Juz 30 with the help of AR technology. This study will provide a practical learning experience for adult learners with hearing impairments using Augmented Reality Technology.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the perceptions of Arabic language students and teachers about using literary texts in the study of Arabic Syntax. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher relied on the analytical approach with the qualitative approach, which collected data using semi-structured interviews with eight students specializing in Arabic and four Arabic language teachers at Perlis Islamic University College (KUIPs) Malaysia. The audio data is transferred to the written text and encoded manually. One of the most important findings of the research is that the students agreed that the employment of literary texts in the study of Arabic grammar helps them practice the language daily through the methods used and master the Arabic grammar by parsing words correctly, and this differs from using ordinary texts because they did not feel enthusiastic and fun while studying Arabic Syntax. Teachers also agreed that employing literary texts in the process of teaching Arabic Syntax helps students to know the correct style of Arabic, as most of the literary language is an eloquent language, and that employing literary texts with examples selected from prose texts and poetic texts, all of which are familiar and usual for students specializing in Arabic language and literature. Based on this, teachers should pay attention to choosing appropriate literary materials, such as short stories, when teaching Arabic Syntax to ensure that students understand the rules better and practice them on the ground.

Abstract

The issue of semantic dispersion has captured the attention of researchers in the field, and they attribute its reasons to translators’ negligence in highlighting the connotations correctly. This is a result of their sole reliance on literal or meaningful translation that consequently led to ambiguity surrounding the meanings and semantic style of Quranic verses. This study aimed to analyze the process of translating words in selected Quranic verses into the Malay language by different translators of the holy Qur’an by identifying the main problems involved in the translation process. Comparisons were made between the translations above by selecting several controversial verses that lead to semantic dispersion. The current study employed the descriptive analytical comparative approach, where the researchers described the approaches in translating the holy Qur’an from the Arabic language into the Malay language. Three translations were compared, namely the Al-Humaira translation (printed version) and the other two translations, which are digital, namely Surah.my and The Noor, because the Malay community commonly uses them. Al-Humaira is the primary source in this study, where examples of selected verses were analyzed and compared with the other two translations. Several findings were reported in this study, with the most important being that there are glaring differences with significant gaps between the translation processes of the translations above, where the translation of Al-Humaira was better and more accurate than the other two translations. Another finding in this study is that the difficulties facing translators are related to the connotations of meanings resulting from dimensions of language such as culture and connection to context, difficulties that cast a shadow over all translation processes. Hence, it is almost impossible to convey the meanings of the holy Qur’an with complete accuracy despite the excellent skills of translators in the field.

Abstract

Language is vital for exchanging opinions and ideas, expressing feelings, and fulfilling daily needs. Arabic stands out among other languages due to its various advantages and features. Tamil Nadu, one of the states in India, is known as the historical frame of the Dravidian civilization, one of India's oldest. It is situated in the southernmost part of Asia. Tamil Nadu's residents speak Tamil, an ancient and expressive language celebrated for its rich literature and esteemed position among Indian languages. Tamil Nadu's global prominence stems from its historical oceanic and commercial connections. Centuries ago, the state actively traded with China, Babylonia, Rome, the Levant, the Turks, and, notably, the Arabs. These trade interactions facilitated vigorous import-export activities and improved cultural exchange and integration among diverse peoples. This study focuses on the influence of the Arabic language on Tamil, particularly in contemporary usage, where many Arabic words have been integrated into Tamil vocabulary. This research emphasizes the everyday use of Arabic terms, especially in fields such as law, exemplified by terms like amal, asal, bark, taraf, waterish, wakeel, and wayeetha, etc. It examines the linguistic and cultural similarities and shared usage of words between these two distinct languages. The methodology adopted is qualitative. The primary data was collected through personal interviews and original texts. Secondary data were obtained from related books, and scholarly works and data were analyzed. This study concluded that Arabic influence in colloquial Tamil, especially in southern Tamil Nadu, needs more extensive research. The persistent Arabic influence on Tamil civilization and cultural practices is frequently mistaken for indigenous Tamil elements in academic and administrative contexts. Arabic words used in Tamil have their roots and origins, emphasizing their originality in the Arabic language rather than being borrowed from Tamil.
