Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one type of freshwater fish that tends to be strong against disease disorders commonly experienced by other types of freshwater fish and has tolerance to water quality in a wide range. Giving brobiotics with a mixture of natural ingredients is very important in adding nutrients to support tilapia growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding a mixture of probiotics and papaya leaf extract to artificial feed (pellets) on the growth and survival of tilapia seeds. Data collection methods using experimental methods. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replicates. The treatments were A (25g papaya leaf extract/100g feed), B (50g papaya leaf extract/100g feed) and C (75g papaya leaf extract/100g feed). The results showed that the addition of fermented papaya leaf extract to tilapia feed had a very significant effect on the growth and survival of tilapia fry. Treatment B gave the highest absolute weight growth of 3.42 gr/head with an average weight of 16.88 gr and survival value reached 88%. While in treatment A with a dose of papaya leaf extract of 25 g and C with a dose of extract of 75 g has absolute weight growth that is not significantly different. Where the average value in treatment A is 13.47 gr with 87% survival and C has an average of 13.70 with 83% survival. Water quality data during the study obtained pH ranged (7.8 - 8.1), DO (4.12 - 6.79), Temperature (27.5 - 28.5) and NH4 (0 - 0.35). The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the four parameters showed no difference between treatments and were in the range of life of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of moringa leaf extract (Moringa oleifera) on growth, immunity, digestive health and water quality of vannamei shrimp cultivation media (Litopenaeus vannamei). This study used the Complete Random Design method which consisted of 2 treatments with 6 replicates each. The treatment consisted of A (negative control without the addition of moringa leaf extract) and B (feeding with moringa leaf extract enhancer 1:1). Data analysis used a statistical paired samples T-test. The results of the study showed that moringa leaf extract did not have a significant effect on the growth of vannamei shrimp but had a significant effect on the survival of vannamei shrimp. The average bacterial abundance in treatment A was 7.58 (3.8×107 CFU/mL) and treatment B was 7.64 (4.4×107 CFU/mL). Meanwhile, histological results in treatment A found tissue structure damage (necrosis) and in treatment B there was no tissue structure damage. The water quality parameters measured during the maintenance period, both temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and salinity are still at the optimal value. Based on these results, moringa leaf extract can be used as a phytoimmunostimulant in vannamei shrimp cultivation activities.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of shoot cutting combined with spraying growth regulators on the growth and yield of soybeans. The experiment was arranged in a factorial randomized block design and was repeated three times. Shoot cutting treatments were performed 10, 20, and 30 days after planting. The growth regulators applied were Cytokinin, Auxin, and Gibberellin. The growth and yield of soybean plants were observed through plant height, number of branches, percentage of canopy coverage, leaf area, number of pods, weight of 100 seeds, and number of seeds per plot. The results showed that the interaction of the two treatments had no significant effect on soybean growth and yield. The Gibberellin treatment significantly affected plant height at 6 weeks after planting, number of branches at 4 weeks after planting, number of pods, and yield per plot.

Abstract

Coffee production in Indonesia, although showing consistent growth, has not been accompanied by an increase in farmers' income, which is largely due to inefficiencies in the marketing system and supply chain. This study aims to identify the actors and their roles in the Robusta coffee supply chain system in Lampung Province and to analyze the structural mapping of the Robusta coffee supply chain network in Lampung Province. The method used is a descriptive survey with an explanatory approach, supported by in-depth interviews, field observations, and informal discussions. Respondents were selected purposively and through snowball sampling techniques, including coffee farmers, agro-industry actors, export companies, government agencies, and multinational companies, with a total of 12 respondents. The results of the study show that the robusta coffee supply chain system in Lampung consists of six main channels involving actors from upstream to downstream, with diverse interaction and partnership patterns. Product flows include coffee in the form of beans and powder; information flows encompass the exchange of technical data and quality standards; and financial flows are facilitated through various payment schemes, incentives, and partnership contracts. It is necessary to strengthen partnerships and increase farmer capacity to improve system efficiency and the welfare of upstream actors in the long term.

Abstract

Taba Penanjung Subdistrict, Central Bengkulu Regency, is one of the areas with an underdeveloped standard of living where most of the population still relies on farming, particularly as rice paddy farmers. In this study, 26 rice paddy farmers were surveyed. Technique sampling was determined using a simple random sampling method, which allows each member of the population an equal chance of being selected as a sample. Additionally, four agricultural extension workers were added as correspondents.  Agricultural extension workers play a very important role, as can be seen from the recap of the average scores of agricultural extension activities: X1 (extension workers as guides) with an average score of 3.72 and a total of 96.5, X2 (extension workers as organizers and dynamizers) with an average score of 3.23 and a total of 83.75, then X3 (extension workers as technicians) with an average score of 3.08 and a total of 80, and X4 (extension workers as consultants) with an average score of 3.06 and a total of 79.3. This shows that X1 demonstrates very good results compared to X2, X3, and X4, and the presence of agricultural extension workers has a positive impact on the economic welfare of farmers in Lubuk Sini Village. This is evidenced by rice production results with an average of 7.290 kg/mt. In the improvement of farming enterprises, it is hoped that the sustainability of extension services in agriculture and technology will continue, whether by the government or private sectors, to enhance the achievements of these farmers.

Abstract

The research aims to obtain the best type of decomposer and the composition of materials and the time needed to achieve mature fermentation in making compost.  Oil palm plants grow well on podzolic soil, but high levels of fertilization are needed to overcome the poor nutrients in this type of soil.  The return of organic fertilizer from palm fruit frounds waste after it has been treated with added nutrients from broiler chicken waste and then fermented with MOL is expected to be able to meet the nutrient needs of oil palm plants. The research was carried out in the Babatan sub-district, Sukaraja district, Seluma regency from December 2023 to February 2024. The research consisted of 2 factors, namely the type of decomposer and the composition of the dough material. The non-control treatment was the application of anorganic fertilizer given to all treatment combinations The control treatment was the combination of treatments without the application of anorganic fertilizer.  The research observed the physical properties of compost fertilizer which included the number of fungi, color, aroma, temperature, humidity.  The results of the research concluded that the control fermentation treatment took place more quickly, namely the dough matured within 8 days after fermentation, while the non-control treatment matured up to 42 days.   EM-4 factory treatments produced more fungi than mol from maja fruit and golden snails. In the non-control treatment, the composition of the mixture was 1:1, showing a greater number of fungi, The color of the compost is yellowish brown with a darker color, while in the control treatment the best composition is 1:2 with a lighter color.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of various herbicide formulations based on fermented coconut water, acetic acid, ethanol, glyphosate, and salt against weeds in open fields. The study used a Randomized Block Design with 9 formulations and 3 replications. Observed variables included dominant weeds, dead weed area, live weed population, dry weight of live weeds, and chlorophyll degradation. The results showed that four types of weeds dominated the field (96%): Paspalum conjugatum, Mimosa pudica, Cyperus rotundus, and Chrysopogon aciculatus. Herbicide formulations significantly suppressed weed growth. Formulations 3 and 9 proved to be the most effective. Further development of Formulations 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 is recommended.
