Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Quizalize on the Arabic learning motivation of 11th grade student at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. The background of this study is based on the low motivation of students in Arabic learning, which is still dominated by lecture methods, even though the school has eduquate technological facilities. This study used a quantitave approach with a quasi-experimental method and a One group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research subjects were 32 students in class XI-4. The instrument used was a learning motivation questionnaire with 20 statements based on five indicators, namely interest, attention, need for success, perseverance, and satisfaction. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics using the Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the average score of student learning motivation increased from 70.19 on the pretest to 81.34 on the posttest. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between before and after the use of Quizalize media. Thus, it can be concluded that Quizalize media has a positive and significant effect on increasing students' motivation to learn Arabic. This media is suitable as an alternative interactive learning tool to create a more enjoyable and motivating learning atmosphere.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the differences in learning styles among equivalency education learners (Warga Belajar) residing in urban and rural areas at PKBM Al-Ikhram. The background of this study is rooted in the importance of understanding learning styles as a contextual factor that influences learning effectiveness, particularly in equivalency education where participants have highly diverse social backgrounds, ages, motivations, and learning experiences. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that learners in urban areas tend to have visual and reading-writing learning styles, which is influenced by better access to technology and learning media. Conversely, learners in rural areas predominantly use kinesthetic and auditory learning styles, which are closely related to direct experience and verbal social interaction. These differences are also influenced by environmental factors, age, motivation, and the availability of learning facilities. This finding emphasizes the importance for the mentors or tutors in equivalency education to understand and adjust their teaching methods to the learners' styles to ensure the learning process is more effective and meaningful.

Abstract

This study examines the differences in motivation and participation of learners in Community Learning Centers (PKBM) located in rural and urban areas, with case studies of PKBM Laskar Pelangi (village) and PKBM Al-Ikhram (city). Learning motivation in villages tends to be pragmatic and oriented toward functional skills to support family economic well-being, while motivation in cities is more directed toward improving academic qualifications and careers. Participation in rural PKBM is more intense and consistent, although quantitatively lower due to limited facilities and time. Meanwhile, participation in urban PKBM is higher quantitatively but less consistent due to limited time and busy schedules. Key supporting factors include family support, educational facilities, and program relevance, while the main constraints are economic constraints, time constraints, and facilities. This study concludes that PKBM management strategies tailored to local characteristics are necessary to increase the effectiveness of non-formal education programs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas, minat, dan hasil belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD) dengan mengintegrasikan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) ke dalam perkuliahan bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) mengikuti model McTaggart, yang terdiri dari empat tahap: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. AI diimplementasikan melalui penggunaan ChatGPT sebagai tutor cerdas untuk mendukung instruksi menulis. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, kuesioner minat belajar, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam tiga bidang utama: (1) aktivitas mahasiswa meningkat dari 85% menjadi 92,5%; (2) minat belajar meningkat dari 87,5% menjadi 92,5%; dan (3) hasil belajar meningkat dari skor rata-rata 62 (pra-tindakan) menjadi 81 (siklus II), dengan ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 94%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mengintegrasikan AI dapat mendorong pembelajaran aktif, meningkatkan motivasi intrinsik, dan meningkatkan prestasi akademik mahasiswa.

Peningkatan Motivasi Belajar Peserta Didik Melalui Model Problem Based Learning Berbantuan Media Konkret Pada Materi Cahaya dan Sifatnya di Kelas V SD Negeri Naikoten 2. Skripsi. Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar. Dibimbing oleh Moses Kopong Tokan dan Kurniayu Triastuti R. A. Ratu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas V UPTD SD Negeri Naikoten 2 pada materi Cahaya dan Sifatnya melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media konkret. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa yang terlihat dari kurangnya keterlibatan dalam bertanya, menjawab, dan menyampaikan pendapat. Metode penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan subjek 21 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi aktivitas guru, observasi aktivitas peserta didik, dan angket motivasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik dari 66,92% (kategori cukup) pada siklus I menjadi 92,30% (kategori sangat baik) pada siklus II. Aktivitas guru meningkat dari 71,45% menjadi 94,31%, sedangkan aktivitas peserta didik meningkat dari 65,78% menjadi 90,15%. Dengan demikian, penerapan model problem based learning berbantuan media konkret terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas V pada materi Cahaya dan Sifatnya.

Abstract

This qualitative research using a case study method aims to analyze the influence of strong patriarchal values on the practice of early marriage and limited access to education for women in Kapten Jamin Lubis, Medan. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, including affected women, parents, and community leaders.The main findings indicate that patriarchal culture places women in a subordinate position, thus their primary role is considered limited to domestic affairs. The practice of early marriage is reinforced by family pressure, economic factors (to reduce the burden of responsibilities), and social pressure/community norms. The impacts of this practice are very real, including the interruption of women’s education, limited employment opportunities, and the reproduction of the cycle of poverty. This study concludes that early marriage in this area is a structural problem rooted in the interaction of culture, economics, and patriarchal social norms.

Abstract

This paper discusses the shifting meaning of the family dining table in Christian households within the context of modern social and cultural changes marked by individualism, busyness, and weakened communication among family members. The dining table, once a symbol of togetherness, love, and intimate relationships within the family, has increasingly lost its function as a space for dialogue and fellowship. This shift affects the quality of Christian family relationships, which should be the primary place for nurturing faith, love, and Christian character. Through theological reflection, this paper seeks to reconstruct the meaning of the “dining table” into the “table of fellowship” as a symbol of God’s presence in family life. The table of fellowship is not merely a place for sharing food but also a sacred space where the family experiences grace, forgiveness, and renewed relationships, as reflected in the Holy Communion. From the perspective of contextual theology, Christian families are called to reorganize their lives so that the values of togetherness, communication, and love may be revitalized amid the challenges of the digital era and the instant culture that erodes relational intimacy. This study emphasizes that the renewal of Christian family relationships begins with a theological awareness that every meal shared at the table can become a spiritual fellowship that manifests Christ’s love. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method through theological literature review and contextual reflection to analyze the symbolic meaning of the table in forming a harmonious Christian family.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors affecting learners’ motivation and participation, and to formulate strategies to optimize learning outcomes at the Nonformal Education Center (SKB) in Binjai City. The study is based on the phenomenon of low learning motivation characterized by fluctuating attendance, passive participation, and a focus on certification rather than meaningful learning. This indicates a gap between the objectives of nonformal education and its actual practice. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, employing semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that low motivation stems from both internal factors (low interest, lack of self-confidence, narrow learning goals) and external factors (limited facilities, monotonous methods, minimal social support). These factors result in low participation, poor learning outcomes, and weak lifelong learning orientation. Increasing motivation can be achieved through effective group communication, participatory learning methods, and supportive learning environments.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning model assisted by question card media on the critical thinking ability of elementary school students. The research was conducted at UPT SDM 002 Penyasawan involving 36 fifth-grade students divided into two classes. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design and a quantitative approach. The instruments used to measure students' critical thinking skills were essay tests and observation sheets. Quantitative data analysis was processed using SPSS version 25. The results showed that students taught using the VCT learning model assisted by question cards had higher critical thinking skills compared to those taught using conventional methods. Based on the independent sample t-test, the significance value obtained was 0.000 < 0.05, with the experimental class scoring an average of 84.67, while the control class scored 76.22. This indicates that the VCT learning model assisted by question cards is more effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills. Thus, this model can be an alternative solution in Pancasila Education learning to develop students’ critical thinking at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to find the main challenges and solutions in developing HOTS questions to improve student’s critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. HOTS questions in PAI learning can encourage students to think critically and apply Islamic teachings in real life contexts, and also overcome the limitations of memorization-based learning. The method of library research by collecting data from various scientific journals relevant to the research study. So the results of the study obtained that HOTS questions can make students transform from a memorization system to a critical thinking system and can even reach the stage of creating. However, in its implementation there are also several challenges, both from the competence of educators, time and resources, students’ difficulties in adapting, an assessment system that is less supportive, lack of HOTS question references, and lack of support from schools. So that teaching PAI through HOTS questions is not just an option, but a necessity in order to produce a geberation that thinks critically, creatively, and adheres to religious values.
