Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulty level of the PPG Clothing for Certain Teachers (BGT) tryout items for Phase 1 at Malang State University in 2025. The study subjects consisted of 68 participants with a total of 35 questions. The analysis results showed that the average difficulty level index (P) was 0.9. This value indicates that most of the questions are relatively easy, because approximately 90% of participants were able to answer correctly. Whereas in classical test theory, good instrument quality is indicated by an average difficulty index approaching 0.5 (moderate category). Thus, this condition reflects that the test instrument is not fully able to optimally differentiate participants with high and low abilities. These findings have important implications for the quality of evaluation instruments in the context of teacher professional education. Questions with a difficulty level that is too easy tend to reduce the item discrimination power, making it difficult to comprehensively measure variations in participant abilities. In addition, the presence of questions that are too easy has the potential to result in erroneous interpretations regarding participant readiness for the actual PPG exam. Therefore, improvements are needed in the preparation of test instruments. Some strategies that can be adopted include balancing the distribution of easy, medium, and difficult questions, developing questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), improving the quality of distractors, and piloting questions. This will ensure the resulting instrument is more valid, reliable, and representative of the competencies of fashion teachers.

Abstract

21st century education requires professional teachers who are able to foster 6C skills, while Indonesia's PISA 2022 achievements are still low. This study aims to develop a tryout instrument for students of Teacher Professional Education (PPG) in the field of social studies at Malang State University to improve their readiness for the Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK). The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model. The instrument consisted of 35 questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), which were validated by experts, revised, and tested on 950 students. The results showed that 82.86% of the questions were valid, with 100% reliability, good to very good discrimination, a balanced level of difficulty (40% easy, 42.86% medium, 17.14% difficult), and a distractor effectiveness of 63.44%. These findings confirm that the tryout questions are suitable for use as an adaptive assessment instrument to measure the professional competence of social studies teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on the reading comprehension ability of grade IV A students at SDN Petukangan Utara 07. This study used a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 30 students. The results of the pretest and posttest were analyzed using prerequisite analysis tests and hypothesis tests. The normality test was carried out using the Shapiro-Wilk test and showed that the data were normally distributed. The hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test obtained a sig. (2-tailed) result of 0.000 <0.05, so H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. This indicates that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of students. In addition, the results of the N-Gain analysis showed that the increase in reading comprehension ability was in the moderate category. Thus, the results of this study conclude that the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model has an effect on improving the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Petukangan Utara 07.

Abstract

This classroom action research applied the Learning Cycle 7E model as an effort to enhance mathematics learning in Grade IV-B of SDN Rawajati 03 Pagi. The study was conducted in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year with 31 students as participants. The research design followed the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which involves four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, carried out in two cycles. Data were collected through teacher and student activity observations, written tests to measure learning achievement, and documentation of classroom practices. The analysis revealed that in Cycle I, only 58% of students achieved mastery, with teacher activity at 77% and student activity at 72%. After improvements were made in Cycle II, student mastery increased to 84%, while teacher and student activities rose to 97% and 91%, respectively. These findings demonstrate that the Learning Cycle 7E not only improves mathematics learning outcomes but also fosters a more active, interactive, and meaningful classroom atmosphere. The model therefore holds strong potential as an alternative learning strategy to promote student participation, conceptual understanding, and positive learning experiences in elementary education.

Abstract

Muhammad Abduh, a prominent Islamic modernist, is renowned for his contributions to establishing a rational, progressive, and contextual Islamic paradigm. Through his rich intellectual journey, Abduh offered solutions to the stagnation of Islamic thought through the renewal of education, Islamic law, and an emphasis on reason, ijtihad, and the integration of religious and scientific knowledge. His works, such as Tafsir al-Manar and Risalah al-Tawhid, inspired reform movements in the Islamic world, including Indonesia. Abduh's thought, encompassing education, knowledge, politics, and theology, remains relevant in addressing the challenges of globalization, particularly in shaping a moderate and forward-thinking Islamic education. Abduh's educational reforms at Al-Azhar, his emphasis on rationality and ijtihad, and his ideas on human freedom and consultative governance, serve as important foundations for the modernization of Islam.

Abstract

This research is based on the low level of students' understanding of the concept of Pancasila education, as indicated by the lack of active participation and in-depth comprehension of the concepts of Pancasila education. The aim of this study is to describe the implementation of the Think Pair Share learning model in improving the understanding of Pancasila education concepts among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 233 Palembang. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with a phenomenological approach in which the researcher explores the meaning of individual or group experiences through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews, aiming to understand and explore the subjective meaning of individuals' experiences regarding a phenomenon. The research subjects were 26 students of class IV.A. The instruments used included observation sheets, concept understanding tests, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Think Pair Share learning model can improve students' conceptual understanding, where most students have achieved the learning objectives. In addition, the Think Pair Share model is also able to enhance students' participation and collaborative learning activities. Thus, the Think Pair Share learning model is effective to be implemented in Pancasila education learning to improve conceptual understanding among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a website-based short story medium with the theme of culture shock to support the self-adjustment process of overseas students. The story presents emotional and psychological challenges commonly experienced by students when transitioning and adapting to a new cultural environment. The research employs the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to design a digital short story that is easily accessible and relevant to the target audience. Validation by guidance and counseling experts confirmed that the media is highly feasible for use in educational and counseling services. Student evaluations showed very positive responses and supported greater understanding and self-acceptance in facing cultural transitions. This digital short story media serves as an innovative, inspiring, and practical educational alternative in character education and guidance services.

Abstract

This research analyzes the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology to strengthen digital literacy in natural science education and its effect on student motivation at SD Inpres Skow Sae. The research method used was Concurrent Mixed Methods, involving 32 fifth-grade students. Quantitative data were collected through a learning motivation questionnaire, and qualitative data were gathered through observation and interviews. The results showed that the use of AR had a significant and positive impact on student motivation. The average motivation score reached 87.5 out of an ideal score of 100, with 68.75% of students in the "very high" category and 31.25% in the "high" category. The statistical hypothesis test, which showed a significance value of 0.037 (< 0.05), clearly proves that this increase in motivation was not coincidental. Qualitatively, interviews confirmed these findings, with students expressing that AR made difficult subjects easier to understand and more interactive, changing their perception of science to be more positive and enjoyable. Data triangulation revealed a strong convergence between the questionnaire and interview results, confirming that the increase in motivation was reflected not only in the scores but also in changes in learning behavior that were more active, independent, and enthusiastic. Thus, this study concludes that AR is a proven transformative solution for overcoming educational challenges in remote areas, effectively boosting motivation while simultaneously fostering behaviors aligned with the digital era.

Abstract

Educational sociology is a discipline that arose from the need to understand the relationship between education and social dynamics. However, there is still a problem in that the thoughts of major sociological figures, both from Islamic and Western traditions, have not been comprehensively studied to determine their relevance in addressing the challenges of modern education. This situation has resulted in a lack of strong theoretical foundations for designing curricula, learning strategies, and educational policies that are in line with the needs of contemporary society. This study aims to: (1) trace the history of the birth and development of educational sociology, (2) review the biographies and thoughts of major sociological figures from Islamic to Western traditions, and (3) analyze the relevance of these figures' thoughts in the context of modern education. The research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach based on 4 books and 15 scientific journal articles. The results show that Ibnu Khaldun, Comte, Ward, Durkheim, Dewey, Parsons, and Syari’ati have made significant contributions in viewing education as a means of individual formation and social transformation. The relevance of their thoughts is reflected in the need for modern education that is inclusive, evidence-based, fosters morality, is democratic, critical, and advocates for social justice. Thus, the integration of thoughts across Islamic and Western traditions can enrich the discourse of educational sociology and provide a new direction for curriculum renewal and educational policy in the era of globalization.
