Abstract

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through the Problem Based Learning model in science learning for grade IV of SDN Kenari 07 Central Jakarta with 32 students. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with collection techniques by observation using teacher and student action monitoring sheets, evaluation sheets, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Problem Based Learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills that have been carried out on the science subject content in grade IV of SDN Kenari 07 Central Jakarta, the results shown in cycle I students' critical thinking skills got a percentage of 22% and in cycle II 84% so that the increase that occurred was 62% and based on the results of the research for each cycle, it can be concluded that science learning using the Problem Based Learning model can improve students' critical thinking in grade IV-A of SDN Kenari 07 Central Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ achievement in Science learning through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in class V-C of SDN Kebon Baru 09, South Jakarta, consisting of 30 students. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with data collected through observation using teacher and student activity monitoring sheets, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The findings revealed that the application of the Problem Based Learning model improved students’ achievement in Science. In the first cycle, the mastery learning percentage reached 50%, while in the second cycle it increased to 83%, showing an improvement of 33%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving Science learning achievement among fifth-grade students at SDN Kebon Baru 09, South Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of zig-zag run and dodging run training on improving dribbling skills in futsal players at SMAN 10 Luwu. The research method used was an experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study consisted of 20 students participating in the futsal extracurricular program at SMAN 10 Luwu, all of whom were taken as the research sample using saturated sampling. The instrument employed was the Bobby Charlton Dribbling Test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test, homogeneity test, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test with SPSS 26. The results showed that: (1) zig-zag run training had a significant effect on improving dribbling skills, with t_calculated = 22.574 > t_table = 2.262 and significance value 0.000 < 0.05; (2) dodging run training also significantly improved dribbling skills, with t_calculated = 24.797 > t_table = 2.262 and significance value 0.000 < 0.05; (3) there was a significant difference between the two training methods, with zig-zag run training proving more effective in enhancing dribbling skills compared to dodging run. In conclusion, both zig- zag run and dodging run training positively affect futsal players’ dribbling skills, but zig-zag run is more effective as a training method for developing basic futsal techniques.

Abstract

The curriculum is an idea in the implementation of education. Without the formation of a curriculum, the results of learning will be unfocused and have no definite purpose. The purpose of this study is to determine the planning of the PAI curriculum in schools and madrasas so that the curriculum is planned in accordance with the needs of educators and students. The research method used in this study is library research. The data collection technique involved exploring data through literature review, reading, examining, and recording data from various relevant sources, such as articles, journals, and books. The results of this study on the elements of PAI curriculum planning are expected to create a young generation that is not only academically intelligent but also has good character and is able to contribute positively to society.

Abstract

Education reports play an important role as a tool for mapping school quality, but their implementation often faces problems such as limited IT equipment, low teacher ability to access and understand the platform, difficulty in determining the main causes and alternative activities, potential program ineffectiveness due to a lack of contextual analysis, delayed technology integration among senior teachers, and low student engagement due to minimal family support. The solutions offered include the procurement of IT equipment, assistance for teachers in utilizing education reports, problem analysis training, program adjustments according to the school context, improving teacher performance through practical training and peer teaching, strengthening student involvement through project-based learning and home visits, active committee participation, and support from the education office through continuous training. With this collaboration, education reports can function optimally as a transformative tool to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of outdoor-based learning in enhancing observation skills and creativity among elementary school students. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by reviewing scientific publications indexed in Scispace, Elicit, Google Scholar, and DOAJ from 2015 to 2025. The findings indicate that outdoor-based learning effectively improves students’ observation, creativity, and critical thinking skills through contextual and meaningful direct learning experiences. In addition to strengthening cognitive aspects, this approach also fosters motivation, collaboration, and environmental responsibility.

Abstract

Problems in the scientific thinking process often arise from unclear definitions of concepts and weak logical reasoning in drawing conclusions. Without clear definitions, concepts become obscure, while without sound reasoning, science loses its methodological footing. This article aims to explain the integration of definitions and reasoning as the basis for the formation of valid scientific knowledge. The methodology used is a literature study with a philosophical analysis approach, namely examining various literature on the philosophy of science and logic to discover the conceptual relationship between the two. The analysis is conducted by outlining the function of definitions as a conceptual foundation, reasoning as a methodological instrument, and how the integration of the two builds a logical and systematic framework for scientific thinking. The results of the study indicate that definitions play a role in defining the boundaries of a concept's meaning, while reasoning processes these concepts to produce new conclusions. The integration of the two not only prevents confusion and logical errors but also strengthens the validity of scientific knowledge. Furthermore, the application of this integration is evident in the practice of scientific research, education, and everyday decision-making. Thus, this article emphasizes that definition and reasoning are two inseparable aspects of the philosophy of science, and their integration is a prerequisite for the development of objective, systematic, and accountable knowledge.

Abstract

Students’ ability to write response texts still faces challenges, particularly in terms of structure and linguistic features. This study aims to examine the effect of the Self Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) model on the writing ability of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 37 Medan. The research employed an experimental method with a two group post-test design. The sample consisted of 62 students selected through random sampling, divided into an experimental class (32 students) and a control class (32 students). Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, and analyzed using prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity) as well as hypothesis testing. The results indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and that the SOLE model had a significant effect on writing ability, as evidenced by thitung > ttabel(9.77 > 1.90). The average score of the experimental class was 83.15 (capable category), higher than that of the control class, which was 64.59 (fair category). These findings suggest that the SOLE model is effective in improving students’ response text writing skills, and it is recommended that Indonesian language teachers apply this model as an alternative instructional strategy.

Abstract

Mathematical logical intelligence plays an important role in developing students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, especially in solving multiplication word problems at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze the mathematical logical intelligence of fourth-grade students in solving multiplication word problems based on five indicators, namely mathematical calculations, logical thinking, problem solving, inductive and deductive estimation, and pattern and relationship intensity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of written tests, observations, and interviews. The subjects consisted of three students representing the categories of high, medium, and low logical mathematical intelligence. The results showed that students with high intelligence were able to think systematically and recognize patterns consistently. Students with moderate intelligence can solve basic problems but have difficulty in developing systematic steps. Students with low intelligence show obstacles in all indicators, especially in converting verbal information into mathematical models. These findings indicate the importance of learning strategies tailored to students' cognitive profiles to improve their problem-solving competencies. This study contributes to the understanding of cognitive diversity in mathematics learning and has practical implications for teachers in designing more inclusive learning approaches.

Abstract

Students' numeracy skills in group learning often show variations in roles that can affect the learning process and outcomes. This study aims to analyze the numeracy activities of fifth-grade students in group discussions, focusing on the roles of expert, facilitator, and novice. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through numeracy tests, non-participatory observation, and semi-structured interviews. Data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The results showed that students' numeracy skills were generally high, although some students still had difficulty in applying mathematical symbols correctly. Students' positions in the group influenced their numeracy achievement, with students acting as experts understanding the questions more quickly and leading the discussion, facilitators maintaining the flow of the discussion and encouraging participation, and beginners requiring more guidance. Interactions between positions contributed significantly to the improvement of numeracy skills, with the roles of experts and facilitators being the dominant factors. These findings provide a deeper understanding of the social dynamics in numeracy learning and recommend the application of positioning-based learning strategies to improve the effectiveness of discussions and student learning outcomes.
