Abstract

Science learning outcomes at UPT SMP Negeri 12 Gresik are still relatively low. This study aims to see the effect of Teams Games Tournament learning to improve students' learning outcomes and social skills. The method used in this study is a pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, where there is only one group without a control group. The data analysis technique used in this study is supported by SPSS software, namely the normality test with the Shapiro-Wilk test, the Paired Sample t-Test if the data is normally distributed and the Wilcoxon test if the data is detected to have an abnormal distribution and the N-Gain test. The results of this study are that Teams Games Tournament Challenge Relay learning is able to improve science learning outcomes and students' social skills at UPT SMP Negeri 12 Gresik.

Abstract

Academic supervision plays a strategic role in enhancing teacher professionalism and improving instructional quality in schools. However, in practice, academic supervision is often conducted through an administrative and evaluative approach, limiting its function as a professional development process. This article aims to analyze and synthesize the transformation of academic supervision from an administrative approach to professional coaching based on the GROW model (Goal, Reality, Options, Will). This study employed a qualitative approach using a systematic literature review (SLR) design by analyzing relevant scholarly articles published within the last five years. The findings indicate that integrating GROW-based coaching into academic supervision enhances reflective dialogue, strengthens teachers’ reflective practices, and promotes active teacher engagement in professional development. Academic supervision is repositioned not as a control mechanism but as a collaborative and sustainable professional learning process. These findings highlight the relevance of GROW-based coaching as an effective approach to transforming academic supervision and strengthening instructional leadership in elementary schools.

Abstract

Globalization brings rapid flows of information, technology, and culture, which significantly impact the character formation of the younger generation. This phenomenon requires Islamic education to adapt to global dynamics without neglecting the fundamental values of Islamic teachings. This study aims to conceptually examine the relationship between globalization and Islamic education in the context of developing Islamic character. A review of the literature indicates that globalization presents challenges in the form of shifting values, consumerism, individualism, and moral relativism, all of which have the potential to erode character values. On the other hand, Islamic education plays a strategic role through the strengthening of aqidah (faith), akhlak (morality), and adab (proper conduct), thereby shaping individuals who are resilient, have integrity, and are adaptive to change. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating contextual Islamic educational methods in line with global developments, utilizing technology wisely, and institutionalizing Islamic character values within both formal and non-formal curricula. This study provides a conceptual contribution for educators and policymakers in designing relevant and sustainable Islamic character education strategies in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital storytelling medium based on the local wisdom of Malang City on the subject of Stories about My Region for fourth-grade elementary school students that is valid and effective for use in learning. This study was motivated by the low level of interest and engagement among students because learning is still dominated by lecture methods and textbooks. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with a modified Borg and Gall model, through the stages of potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, product revision, small group trials, further revision, large group trials, and valid and effective products. The research subjects were 14 students and fourth-grade teachers at SDN Merjosari 3 Malang City. Data were obtained through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the media obtained a highly valid category from subject matter experts (95.45%), language experts (93.75%), media experts (95.31%), and student and teacher response questionnaires (95%). The pilot test results also showed that the media was effective in increasing student interest and learning outcomes, with average scores in the aspects of attitude (93.42), skills (87.77), and knowledge (93.88). Thus, the digital storytelling media based on the local wisdom of Malang City is valid and effective for use as learning media in elementary schools.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to implement classroom management strategies to improve learning focus outcomes among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Latihan SPG, consisting of 34 students. The study was motivated by students’ low concentration levels due to distractions, classroom noise, and ineffective classroom management. The strategies implemented included classroom physical arrangement, establishment of rules and routines, positive reinforcement, ice breaking activities, and effective communication, carried out through two cycles based on the Kemmis-McTaggart model. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation, and tests, with descriptive qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods. The results showed a significant improvement: observation sheet scores reached 91.6%, the average pretest score increased from 49.41 to a posttest score of 77.06 (t = 9.446, p < 0.01, d = 1.620), indicating a very large effect size. Since the p-value < 0.05, H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted, meaning that the treatment significantly improved students’ learning focus outcomes. The success indicator of ≥75% was achieved in Cycle II. The classroom management strategies were effective in creating a conducive learning environment and are recommended for teachers and schools.

Abstract

Holistic-Integrative Early Childhood Development (PAUD HI) requires routine, evidence-based evaluation to document learning processes and communicate child development to families, yet many kindergarten settings still rely on fragmented documentation. This study examines whether TV Sekolah can function as an evidence-based tool for PAUD HI evaluation and as a digital child portfolio in a kindergarten cluster in Semarang. We employed a mixed-method exploratory design combining questionnaires and documentation/observation of platform use; participants included parents (n=24) and teachers (n=10). Results indicate that parental conceptual understanding remained limited (41.7% understood TV Sekolah, whereas 58.3% did not), but perceived informational value was high: 75.0% reported being satisfied (including 12.5% very satisfied) and 25.0% reported not being satisfied. Most parents also agreed that TV Sekolah increased their involvement in monitoring children’s activities and progress (83.3% agree). Teachers largely judged TV Sekolah effective as evaluation evidence (80% effective), though some reported integration constraints. In conclusion, TV Sekolah shows practical promise for strengthening PAUD HI evaluation and transparency, but schools should provide teacher training, integrate documentation into daily evaluation workflows, and deliver structured parent orientation to close comprehension gaps.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Pancasila board learning media on student understanding of the material of recognizing the symbols of the Pancasila precepts. The research method used is an experiment with a posttest only control group design. The data collection technique used in this study was through tests. The use of tests in this research is in the form of 10 objective questions which are used to measure the presence or absence of students' understanding abilities which are then analyzed by statistical tests using SPSS version 26. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of using the Pancasila board learning media on students' understanding of the material of recognizing the symbols of the Pancasila precepts. The researcher concluded that the Pancasila board media is effectively used in learning material to recognize the symbols of the Pancasila precepts to improve students' understanding ability.

Abstract

Academic stress is a psychological condition commonly experienced by university students due to academic demands and developmental challenges during higher education. Differences in semester levels may influence stress intensity because students encounter distinct academic responsibilities and expectations. This study aimed to determine whether there is a significant difference in academic stress levels between first-semester and final-semester students at FKIP UPI YPTK Padang. This research used a quantitative comparative design with purposive sampling involving 72 students consisting of 36 first-semester and 36 final-semester students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale academic stress questionnaire. Data analysis included normality test, homogeneity test, and independent sample t-test using SPSS. The results showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.502 > 0.05, indicating no significant difference between the two groups. These findings suggest that academic stress may occur across academic levels and highlight the importance of comprehensive counseling services in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between family warmth and effective communication among eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 6 Padang in the 2025/2026 academic year. The family plays a fundamental role in shaping adolescents’ emotional and social development. A warm family environment characterized by affection, support, attention, and open communication is believed to contribute positively to students’ interpersonal communication skills. This research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational design. The population consisted of all eleventh grade students, with 212 students selected through proportional random sampling. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results showed that family warmth was generally categorized as moderate to high, and students’ effective communication was categorized as good. However, correlation analysis indicated that the relationship between family warmth and effective communication was very low and statistically not significant (r = 0.177; sig. = 0.142 > 0.05). These findings imply that effective communication among students may be influenced by other factors beyond family warmth.

Abstract

Tingkat literasi masyarakat Indonesia hingga tahun 2024 masih menunjukkan kesenjangan antardaerah, yang terlihat dari terbatasnya akses layanan perpustakaan, ketidakmerataan kualitas kolek The literacy rate of Indonesians until 2024 still shows regional disparities, as evidenced by limited access to library services, uneven collection quality, and a shortage of trained library staff. This condition indicates that literacy development has not been fully supported by an adequate supporting ecosystem. Referring to the components of the Community Literacy Development Index (IPLM) established by BPS, this study attempts to organize an understanding of literacy based on data through a statistical approach, specifically multiple regression analysis, to identify the main factors that influence national literacy achievement. This study analyzes three key elements of the IPLM, namely the equitable distribution of library services, the adequacy of collections, and the adequacy of library staff as predictors of community literacy levels. The regression results show that these three variables have a significant effect both simultaneously and partially. The Adjusted R-squared value of 0.8735 indicates that 87.35% of the variation in community literacy can be explained by these three components, so this model has very strong predictive power. These findings confirm that literacy development depends not only on the reading ability of the community, but also on the quality of the surrounding information ecosystem. This study concludes that national literacy strengthening strategies must be directed at improving the equitable distribution of library services, optimizing the quality and diversity of collections, and strengthening the capacity of library staff. Using a statistical data-based approach, this study provides an empirical basis for organizing Indonesian literacy in a more systematic, inclusive, and sustainable manner. si, serta minimnya tenaga perpustakaan terlatih. Kondisi ini menandakan bahwa pembangunan literasi belum sepenuhnya ditopang oleh ekosistem pendukung yang memadai. Mengacu pada komponen Indeks Pembangunan Literasi Masyarakat (IPLM) yang ditetapkan BPS, penelitian ini berupaya menata pemahaman literasi berbasis data melalui pendekatan statistik, khususnya analisis regresi berganda, untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor utama yang memengaruhi capaian literasi nasional. Penelitian ini menganalisis tiga unsur kunci IPLM, yaitu pemerataan layanan perpustakaan, ketercukupan koleksi, dan ketercukupan tenaga perpustakaan sebagai prediktor tingkat literasi masyarakat. Hasil regresi menunjukkan bahwa ketiga variabel tersebut berpengaruh signifikan baik secara simultan maupun parsial. Nilai Adjusted R-squared sebesar 0.8735 mengindikasikan bahwa 87.35% variasi literasi masyarakat dapat dijelaskan oleh ketiga komponen tersebut, sehingga model ini memiliki daya prediksi yang sangat kuat. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pembangunan literasi tidak hanya bergantung pada kemampuan membaca masyarakat, tetapi pada kualitas ekosistem informasi yang melingkupinya. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi penguatan literasi nasional harus diarahkan pada peningkatan pemerataan layanan perpustakaan, optimalisasi kualitas dan keragaman koleksi, serta penguatan kapasitas tenaga perpustakaan. Dengan pendekatan berbasis data statistik, penelitian ini memberikan landasan empiris untuk menata literasi masyarakat Indonesia secara lebih sistematis, inklusif, dan berkelanjutan.
