Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of engaging learning media in the subject of Pancasila Education in class VIII at SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi. Learning that is still dominated by textbooks causes students to be less active, easily bored, and experience difficulties in understanding the material on cultural preservation in their region. Therefore, innovative, interesting, and student-characteristic-based learning media are needed. This study aims to determine the development process as well as the validity and practicality level of contextual-based monopoly learning media in Pancasila Education for class VIII students at SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Suparman MPI model, which consists of six stages: instructional analysis, identification of student characteristics, formulation of instructional objectives, development of instructional strategies, development of instructional materials, and formative evaluation. The research subjects were class VIII students of SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi. Data collection techniques used validation questionnaires from material experts, media experts, and language experts, as well as practicality questionnaires for teachers and students using a Likert scale. The results of the study showed that the contextual-based monopoly media was categorized as very valid and very practical. The material expert validation obtained a score of 4.8, media expert 4.2, and language expert 4.2, all categorized as very valid. The practicality test conducted by students obtained a score of 4.4 and by the teacher 4.2, categorized as very practical. Therefore, the contextual-based monopoly learning media is feasible to be used in Pancasila Education learning on the topic of cultural preservation in their region.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimotivasi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran Dampak Sosial Informatika karena kurangnya media pembelajaran interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran berbasis web Blooket terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI di SMA Budi Luhur Samarinda. Metode kuantitatif Kuasi-Eksperimental dengan Desain Kelompok Kontrol Non-ekuivalen dilakukan dengan sampel 67 siswa. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen pretest dan posttest. Hasil peningkatan menunjukkan signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dengan skor N-Gain rata-rata 0,67 (kategori sedang). Pengujian hipotesis melalui uji t sampel independen menghasilkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,004 (< 0,05), disimpulkan bahwa Blooket memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan media konvensional. Media ini direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif inovatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam pendidikan Informatika.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the position of literal meaning in language communication by reviewing semantic and pragmatic perspectives. Literal meaning is generally understood as the basic meaning inherent in linguistic forms without involving context; however, its existence is often debated in actual communication practices. This research employs a literature review method by analyzing various linguistic theories proposed by experts regarding the concept of meaning. The findings indicate that literal meaning cannot be fully regarded as either an absolute reality or merely a myth. From a semantic perspective, literal meaning functions as a conventional and relatively stable foundation of meaning. However, from a pragmatic perspective, it often does not represent the primary meaning, as it is influenced by context, communicative intentions, and shared knowledge between speakers and listeners. Therefore, literal meaning is better understood as part of a dynamic and contextual meaning system. This study emphasizes that meaning in communication cannot be separated from the interplay between literal and contextual meaning, which complement each other. Keywords: literal meaning, semantics, pragmatics, communication, contextual meaning   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji posisi makna harfiah dalam komunikasi bahasa dengan meninjau perspektif semantik dan pragmatik. Makna harfiah selama ini dipahami sebagai makna dasar yang melekat pada bentuk kebahasaan tanpa melibatkan konteks, namun dalam praktik komunikasi, keberadaannya sering diperdebatkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian pustaka dengan menganalisis berbagai teori linguistik dari para ahli terkait konsep makna. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa makna harfiah tidak sepenuhnya dapat dianggap sebagai realitas mutlak maupun sebagai mitos semata. Dalam perspektif semantik, makna harfiah memiliki fungsi sebagai dasar pemaknaan yang bersifat konvensional dan relatif stabil. Namun, dalam perspektif pragmatik, makna tersebut sering kali tidak menjadi makna utama karena dipengaruhi oleh konteks, tujuan komunikasi, serta pengetahuan bersama antara penutur dan pendengar. Oleh karena itu, makna harfiah lebih tepat dipahami sebagai bagian dari sistem makna yang bersifat dinamis dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pemahaman makna dalam komunikasi tidak dapat dilepaskan dari hubungan antara makna literal dan makna kontekstual yang saling melengkapi. Abstract

Effective Indonesian language learning requires innovation in approach and media used. A process approach that focuses on student activities and the use of appropriate media can improve students' Indonesian language skills. This article discusses innovation in Indonesian language learning through a process approach and media, as well as examples of its implementation in the classroom. The process approach allows students to be actively involved in the learning process, so they can develop their Indonesian language skills more effectively. Meanwhile, appropriate media can help students understand Indonesian language concepts more easily and enjoyably.

Abstract

Aluh-Aluh Besar Village is a village in Aluh-Aluh District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, where most of the settlements are located along the riverbanks. Rivers play an important role as a source of life, a means of daily activities, and a supporter of the community's economy. However, waste management remains a serious problem because some people still dispose of household waste directly into the river. This condition reflects a low level of social responsibility towards the environment from an ecological citizenship perspective. This study aims to determine the behavior and moral social responsibility of riverbank communities in waste management and the factors that influence it. The study used a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques, as well as analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that community behavior in waste management is still not optimal, characterized by the habit of throwing waste into the river due to the proximity of settlements and limited facilities. Morally, the community has an awareness of maintaining cleanliness and understands the importance of waste management, but this has not been fully implemented in real behavior. Influencing factors include awareness that is defeated by habit, limited facilities, the lack of village government involvement, and the influence of the social environment. Therefore, it is necessary to increase awareness, provide facilities, and collaborate between the government and the community.

Abstract

Civic culture is an important foundation in determining the quality of democracy through active participation and citizen responsibility. Indonesia has strong social capital, reflected in the high level of public generosity. However, globalization and the development of information technology have driven changes in social interaction patterns that tend towards individualism, marked by a decline in direct interaction and a weakening of social trust. This condition has the potential to hinder the formation of citizen character oriented towards the common good. This study aims to analyze the implementation of civic culture values ​​through the Rewang tradition in Sukadamai Village, Mantewe District, Tanah Bumbu Regency. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to explore the process of internalization of civic values ​​such as participation, solidarity, tolerance, and social responsibility in local cultural practices. The results show that the Rewang tradition plays an effective role in strengthening civic engagement and civic virtue organically. This tradition not only maintains the value of mutual cooperation but also becomes a space for inclusive social interaction in a multi-ethnic society. The sustainability of Rewang shows that local wisdom has a strategic role in maintaining social cohesion and filtering the negative impacts of modernization. This research contributes to the development of civic culture studies based on local wisdom and provides practical implications for strengthening contextual and applicable citizenship education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of teacher competence on student learning achievement in Islamic Religious Education at SMA Negeri 1 Barru. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The study population was all 260 grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Barru, with a sample of 72 students taken using cluster sampling techniques and the Slovin formula. Data were collected through Likert scale questionnaires, documentation, participant observation, and interviews, with primary data sources from students and secondary data from school archives. The research instrument was tested for validity using the Product Moment formula and its reliability through Cronbach's Alpha, so that the instrument was declared appropriate and consistent for obtaining data. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS program with the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and Pearson or Spearman correlation tests, depending on the data distribution. The results of the study indicate that teacher competence has a very strong influence on student learning achievement. Teacher competence includes pedagogical, professional, personality, and social abilities, which directly improve the quality of learning and student learning motivation. Competent teachers are able to design effective learning strategies, use a variety of methods, create a conducive learning environment, and adapt learning approaches to student characteristics. In addition to teacher competence, learning achievement is also influenced by internal student factors, such as motivation and cognitive abilities, as well as external factors, including family support, school facilities, management, and social interactions. Thus, student achievement is the result of a complex interaction between teacher competence and various other supporting factors.

Abstract

Inovative technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has penetrated various fields, including education. This includes the learning process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This research aims to review in detail the impact of using AI implementation in enhancing the effectiveness of PAI learning at Chariyatham Suksa Foundation School Thailand. Its effectiveness is measured by the improvement of conceptual understanding regarding the use of AI. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. The AI implementation examined includes data collection through an in-depth literature review. The process involves careful reading, precise investigation, and structured note-taking from various sources. The sources used include readings, journals, and relevant references. The collected data is then processed through filtering and critical analysis to be integrated into a theoretical framework. This process allows for the formation of clear conclusions based on strong theory. The tools utilized include interactive chatbots for answering subject matter questions, AI-based adaptive learning platforms for personalized learning adjustments, and automated assessment tools. From a long-term perspective, AI holds significant potential to become a vital tool in strengthening PAI learning. However, its optimal use depends on two crucial prerequisites wise implementation and perfect and appropriate integration into the existing curriculum and learning system

Abstract

Pancasila Education in elementary schools remains dominated by lecture-based methods and textbooks, resulting in low student engagement and motivation. This study aims to design and produce a Wordwall-based interactive learning medium integrated via Canva for the "I Am a Pancasila Student" material for third-grade elementary school students, yielding a valid, practical, and effective product to support the learning process. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Borg and Gall development model across ten systematic stages. The research subjects were 29 third-grade students at SDN Merjosari 1, Malang City. Data were collected through expert validation sheets covering subject matter, language, and media aspects, along with teacher and student response questionnaires, and analysed using validity percentage and learning mastery formulas. Validation results indicated that the media scored 97.91% from the subject matter expert, 90.62% from the language expert, and 95.83% from the media expert, all classified as "highly valid." Teacher and student response questionnaires yielded an average score of 98.21%. Large-scale pilot test results showed mean scores of 86.90 for attitude, 88.28 for skills, and 90.86 for knowledge, all earning an "A" grade under the "highly effective" criterion. Student learning mastery exceeded the 75% minimum effectiveness threshold. It is concluded that the Wordwall-based interactive learning medium, assisted by Canva, is both valid and effective for delivering Pancasila Education in third-grade elementary school classrooms.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of plyometric upper body exercise on smash ability in members of the Volleyball Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the University of Lampung. The research method used was a comparative experiment. The sample used in this study was 30 members of the Volleyball Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the University of Lampung using the ordinal pairing technique. The instrument used was a smash ability test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of plyometric upper body exercise on smash ability in members of the Volleyball Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the University of Lampung. With the results of the t-test at a significant level of 5% (0.05), the calculated t-value was 13,775 > the t-table value = 2.131.
