Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) and the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children Movement at SD Negeri Babakan 01 as an effort to shape character and improve the quality of primary education. The MBG program is carried out routinely by providing nutritious meals to students, which has been proven to enhance learning concentration, enthusiasm, and the development of healthy habits. Meanwhile, the 7 Habits program instills discipline, independence, social awareness, and responsibility through daily activities such as waking up early, worship, exercising, eating nutritious food, studying diligently, engaging in community life, and going to bed earlier. The research method used is qualitative with a case study design, employing observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings show that the combination of MBG and the 7 Habits program significantly contributes to the formation of positive student character, improves health, and supports more effective learning processes. The role of teachers, schools, and parents is crucial in ensuring the success of these programs. In conclusion, MBG is not only a program to fulfill nutritional needs but also a character education strategy aligned with the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. Suggested improvements include enhancing the quality and variety of menus to meet children’s nutritional needs and strengthening coordination between schools and families to sustain healthy habits at home. This program has the potential to serve as a model for other schools in nurturing a generation that is healthy, intelligent, and morally upright.

Abstract

Sketching is a fundamental competency that must be mastered by students in Art Education programs, as it functions as a medium for visual thinking, critical observation, and the development of artistic ideas. However, sketching instruction in higher education tends to focus primarily on technical aspects and has not sufficiently integrated real-world contexts, particularly social and disaster-related issues. This study aims to design instructional content for sketching courses based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) oriented toward disaster-related themes for Art Education students. This study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. The research procedures included collecting relevant literature on sketching instruction, the PjBL model, and disaster education; conducting conceptual analysis; formulating learning outcomes; developing instructional content structure; and designing material descriptions, project activities, and assessment strategies. Data were obtained through document analysis and examined using descriptive qualitative techniques. The results indicate that the instructional content design was systematically organized into eight chapters: introduction, basic concepts of sketching, single-object sketching, sketching techniques and media, sketching as a visual thinking process, PjBL-based learning, disaster-oriented sketching projects, and assessment and reflection. The design integrates conceptual understanding, technical skills, visual thinking abilities, and contextual project implementation focusing on disaster-related issues. In conclusion, the PjBL-based instructional content design oriented toward disaster- related themes is considered relevant for enhancing students’ sketching skills, creativity, and social awareness of disaster phenomena. This design is expected to serve as an innovative alternative for developing contextual and meaningful art education learning in higher education.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly increased gadget usage among early childhood children, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. This phenomenon requires active parental involvement to ensure that digital exposure does not negatively affect child development. This study aims to analyze parental roles in controlling gadget usage and its impact on early childhood development at PAUD Al-Kamal Jampangtengah, Sukabumi Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Participants consisted of parents and teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that parental control strategies include time limitation, active mediation, content selection, and total restriction. Active mediation and selective educational content were found to positively influence children's social, emotional, language, cognitive, and behavioral development. In contrast, uncontrolled usage or restrictive prohibition without communication tends to result in negative responses, including reduced social interaction and dependency behaviors. The study concludes that the effectiveness of gadget control is not solely determined by screen time duration but largely depends on the quality of parental mediation and interaction during digital engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies for introducing Ramadan fasting to early childhood students at PAUD Al-Kamal Jampangtengah, Sukabumi Regency. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of the implementation practices carried out by teachers and parents. The research subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, and parents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the introduction of fasting was implemented through gradual habituation, role modeling, educational play, storytelling, positive reinforcement, and collaboration between school and family. Contextual and non-coercive approaches positively contributed to children’s self-regulation, emotional stability, and internalization of religious values. This study proposes an integrative model combining pedagogical, social, emotional, and environmental dimensions as a systematic framework for early childhood religious character education. The model offers both conceptual and practical contributions for early childhood education institutions in designing developmentally appropriate Ramadan learning programs.
