Abstract

The Material testing is an essential stage in ensuring the quality and safety of engineering components, particularly in welded joints. One of the most widely used methods is Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), which is a testing technique that does not damage the material. This study aims to examine the Liquid Penetrant Test (PT) method as one of the NDT techniques used to detect surface defects in materials. The method employed in this study is a literature review based on various scientific references, including ASME and AWS standards. The study covers the working principles, inspection procedures, dwell time parameters, and acceptance criteria of the penetrant testing method. The results indicate that the PT method operates based on the capillary action phenomenon, where the penetrant liquid is able to enter small cracks or discontinuities on the material surface. The testing process consists of several main stages, including surface cleaning, penetrant application, penetration time (dwell time), excess penetrant removal, developer application, and visual inspection. Furthermore, the evaluation of test results is conducted based on ASME and AWS standards, which classify indications into linear and rounded indications. Linear indications are generally not acceptable due to their association with critical defects, while rounded indications may be acceptable within certain limits. Therefore, the Liquid Penetrant Test method is an effective and practical technique for detecting surface defects and supporting the improvement of structural quality and safety.

Abstract

The quality of educational services in elementary schools serves as a strategic foundation for shaping the quality of human resources; however, it still faces fundamental challenges, including inconsistencies in the learning process and the dominance of a teacher-centered approach that has not yet been comprehensively oriented toward process quality. This study aims to analyze the concept of the process approach from the perspectives of educational theory and educational quality management, examine the relevance of the process approach as a strategy for improving the quality of educational services in elementary schools, and describe the implications of applying the process approach for improving the quality of educational services in elementary schools. The method used was a literature review (library research) with data obtained from journal articles, academic books, and scientific proceedings retrieved via Google Scholar and DOAJ, which were then analyzed using thematic content analysis. The research results indicate that the process approach is a paradigm with a solid epistemological and theoretical foundation, grounded in Total Quality Management principles such as process orientation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making. This approach is highly relevant in elementary schools because it aligns with the characteristics of students’ cognitive development, the requirements of the Merdeka Curriculum, and the need for service quality management based on the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle. The implications are multidimensional, encompassing the transformation of pedagogical practices toward continuous formative assessment, the restructuring of evidence-based school management systems, and the strengthening of reflective teacher professionalism. This study confirms that the success of a process-oriented approach in improving the quality of educational services in elementary schools depends heavily on the synergistic commitment of all education stakeholders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by twelfth-grade students in mastering Arabic in a tahfidz-based Islamic boarding school, specifically at PPTQ Ulul Albab Sukoharjo. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using observation and semi-structured interviews with students and teachers as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that students experience major difficulties in grammar (nahwu and sharaf), vocabulary acquisition, and language skills such as speaking (kalam) and listening (istima’). These challenges are influenced by limited learning time due to intensive memorization programs, less communicative teaching methods, diverse educational backgrounds, and the lack of a supportive Arabic language environment. Additionally, Arabic is treated as a supplementary subject, reducing its learning priority. The study highlights an imbalance between memorization and comprehension. Therefore, a more integrated curriculum and the strengthening of a language-rich environment are essential to improve the effectiveness and meaningfulness of Arabic learning.

Abstract

This This study aims to determine the pedagogical competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers in planning learning evaluations, utilizing evaluation results as a follow-up to learning, and identifying obstacles and efforts made in implementing learning evaluations at SMA Negeri 7 Jambi City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The subjects of the study were Islamic Religious Education teachers, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, as well as checking the validity of the data using triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the pedagogical competence of teachers in planning learning evaluations is quite good, but still tends to focus on cognitive aspects through written tests. The obstacles faced include limited understanding in compiling comprehensive evaluation instruments and a lack of ability in developing authentic assessments. Efforts made by teachers include attending training, discussing with colleagues, and conducting learning reflections. The conclusion of this study is that the pedagogical competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers in implementing learning evaluations at SMA Negeri 7 Jambi City still needs to be improved, especially in developing evaluations that include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Abstract

Fiqh learning in madrasahs does not only aim to provide students with an understanding of Islamic legal principles but also to shape their character and religious attitudes. However, in practice, Fiqh learning often focuses primarily on cognitive mastery of the material and pays less attention to the internalization of moral values. This study aims to analyze the implementation of innovative Fiqh learning based on the Love-Based Curriculum at MTs Nurul Ummah. This research employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving Fiqh teachers and the school principal as research informants. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Fiqh learning integrates the principles of the Love-Based Curriculum through humanistic, dialogical, and contextual learning approaches. This implementation is reflected in the use of discussion methods, classical text explanation, case studies, and the utilization of various learning resources that are connected to students’ daily life experiences. This approach not only enhances students’ understanding of Fiqh material but also encourages the development of religious attitudes, empathy, social awareness, and responsibility in everyday life.

Abstract

Pola asuh merupakan pola pengasuhan orang tua terhadap anak, dengan memberikan pola pengasuhan yang tepat terhadap anak maka akan berdampak pada perkembangan anak ketika beranjak dewasa. Dengan begitu perlunya pemahaman orang tua terkait cara untuk mendidik, membimbing dan mendisiplinkan serta melindungi anak dalam mencapai proses pendewasaan sampai dengan membentuk perilaku yang baik. Terdapat dua fokus penelitian dalam skripsi ini, yang pertama yaitu bagaimana upaya Fatayat NU dalam proses pembinaan pola asuh anak pada perempuan, dan yang kedua yaitu bagaimana faktor pendukung dan penghambat Fatayat NU dalam proses pembinaan pola asuh anak di Desa Selok Awar Awar Kecamatan Pasirian Kabupaten Lumajang. Tujuan penelitian dalam skripsi ini, yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan upaya Fatayat NU dalam proses pembinaan pola asuh anak dan untuk mendeskripsikan faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pola asuh anak Fatayat NU yang ada di Desa Selok Awar Awar Kecamatan Pasirian Kabupaten Lumajang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan data yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Lalu datanya dianalisis menggunakan model Miles Huberman, dengan menggunakan triangulasi sumber, triangulasi waktu, dan triangulasi teknik untuk memastikan keabsahan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pengupayaan Fatayat NU dalam pembinaan pola asuh anak pada perempuan melalui kajian kitab Akhlaqun Nisa’, dengan melakukan tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap perencaan sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan permasalahan yang ada. Pada tahap pelaksanaan perlu ditingkatkan kembali terkait keproduktifan dalam mengikuti pembinaan pola asuh anak dan dalam penerapan pengasuhan terhadap anak. Pada tahap evaluasi sudah dapat dirasakan manfaat dari penerapan pembinaan pola asuh anak melalui kajian kitab akhlaqun Nisa’, meskipun tingkat kesesuaian dengan perencanaan awal masih rendah. Faktor pendukung yang mempengaruhi proses pembinaan yaitu faktor atas kesadaran diri, faktor anggaran, faktor metode pembina serta faktor sarana dan prasarana yang memadai. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya yaitu faktor ibu yang mengandung besar sampai mempunyai anak yang masih bayi, serta faktor cuaca.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the general description of religious culture for students of Excellent Plus Bukittinggi Islamic Elementary School and to explain the efforts of PAI teachers in implementing religious culture through the advice method and habituation method. This research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach and uses data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation and analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: 1) The general description of religious culture for Excellent Islamic Elementary School students is the 6S culture (smile, greeting, greeting, polite, courteous and patient), the morning muraja'ah program together every Tuesday and Wednesday in the school yard, praying sunnah dhuha in congregation every Friday in the school musola, performing zuhur and asar prayers every Monday - Friday in the school musola, cultivating dhikr and istigosah (praying together) after every prayer in congregation and collecting donations every Friday morning in the school yard. 2) Efforts to implement a religious culture through the method of advice by socializing the school's religious culture by providing reinforcement material containing motivation at the beginning of the new school year, and establishing cooperation with all teachers in advising students in implementing a religious culture and advising students with language techniques and soft and firm speech. 3) Efforts to familiarize students in applying the school's religious culture by giving positive reinforcement, accustoming students from an early age to implement the school's religious culture and routinizing the implementation of the school's religious culture programmatically, then conducting controlled supervision

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low narrative writing skills of elementary school students and the limited use of instructional media in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of digital storytelling on students’ narrative writing skills. This research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 20 fourth-grade students from an elementary school. Data were collected through writing tests and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques by comparing pretest and posttest results. The assessment included aspects of idea development, organization, grammar, diction, spelling, and punctuation. The results showed that students’ narrative writing skills improved after the implementation of digital storytelling. Therefore, digital storytelling can be used as an effective alternative learning media to enhance narrative writing skills in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in shot put performance using the orthodox style and the O’Brien style among tenth-grade students of SMAN 13 Jambi City. This research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one sample two treatment design. The sample consisted of 30 tenth-grade students of SMAN 13 Jambi City. Data collection was carried out through a shot put performance test administered in the form of pretest and posttest for both styles. The data were analyzed using SPSS through descriptive statistical analysis, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and hypothesis testing using the Paired Sample T-Test. The descriptive analysis results showed that the average pretest score for the orthodox style was 3.61 meters, while the O’Brien style was 3.82 meters. Furthermore, the posttest average for the orthodox style was 3.99 meters, whereas the O’Brien style reached 4.23 meters. These results indicate that the O’Brien style produced a higher average throwing distance compared to the orthodox style. Additionally, the normality test showed that all data were normally distributed, as the significance values were greater than 0.05. Based on the hypothesis testing using the Paired Sample T-Test, the significance value obtained was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the orthodox style and the O’Brien style in shot put performance. Thus, it can be concluded that the O’Brien style provides better results than the orthodox style among tenth-grade students of SMAN 13 Jambi City. The findings suggest that selecting appropriate techniques greatly influences shot put performance, and the O’Brien style is recommended as a more effective technique in high school physical education due to its ability to produce more optimal throwing distances.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the use of picture story media in teaching reading comprehension to elementary school students in Indonesia. The background of this study is based on the low level of students’ reading comprehension skills and the limited use of engaging learning media. This research employs a systematic literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through a search of relevant scientific articles in national journals, which were then selected based on specific criteria and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results indicate that picture story media has a positive impact on students’ reading comprehension abilities, as shown by improvements in identifying main ideas, understanding story plots, and answering questions based on the text. In addition, this media also enhances students’ interest, motivation, and participation in the learning process. Therefore, picture story media can be considered an effective and innovative alternative for teaching reading comprehension in elementary schools.
