Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of active learning strategies in improving students’ activeness and understanding in Economics subject for class XI IPS at MAN 1 Merangin. The active learning strategy was applied by involving students directly in the learning process through discussions, presentations, case studies, and educational games related to economic topics. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during the Field Experience Practice (PPL). The results showed that the implementation of active learning strategies successfully increased students’ activeness in asking questions, expressing opinions, and collaborating in groups. Furthermore, students’ understanding of economic concepts improved, as reflected in their learning outcomes and classroom participation. Therefore, active learning strategies can be considered an effective approach to enhancing the quality of economics learning in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of tutors' pedagogical abilities on the development of human resources (HR) of students at PKBM Al-Ikhram. This study uses a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis method. The population in this study amounted to 315 students, with a sample of 30 people selected based on their active participation in learning. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The results showed that tutors' pedagogical abilities have a significant influence on the development of human resources of students, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The correlation coefficient (R) of 0.930 indicates a very strong relationship, while the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.865 indicates that tutors' pedagogical abilities contribute 86.5% to the development of human resources of students. These findings indicate that the better the tutors' pedagogical abilities in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning, the higher the development of human resources of students. Therefore, improving tutors' pedagogical competence is an important factor in improving the quality of learning in non-formal education.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the implementation of numeracy learning based on everyday life problems for third-grade students at SDN 15 Palembang. The study used descriptive qualitative methods. Data were generated through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that problem-based learning can help students understand mathematical concepts more clearly. Students' problem-solving and critical thinking skills also improve. Students are more engaged and able to connect the lesson to their daily lives. However, the implementation of the learning still faces several obstacles, such as limited learning media, differences in student ability levels, and time constraints. Overall, it is proven that contextual problem-based numeracy learning successfully improves elementary school students' numeracy skills

Abstract

This study aims to develop a bamboo-based interior decorative design inspired by the flora and fauna of Kalimantan in order to produce creative decorative works while representing local cultural values. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach consisting of several stages, including analysis, design planning, prototype development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through literature review, observation of the development process, visual documentation, and questionnaires distributed to respondents. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis to examine the aesthetic, functional, and cultural representation aspects, and quantitative analysis through percentage calculations of assessment scores obtained from trained respondents and expert validators. The results indicate that the developed bamboo decorative design successfully integrates modern aesthetic elements with the representation of Kalimantan’s distinctive flora and fauna, particularly the giant moon orchid (Phalaenopsis gigantea). Based on the evaluation results, the feasibility level of the developed product reached 92.78% from trained respondents and 96.11% from expert respondents, both of which fall into the “very feasible” category. These findings suggest that bamboo, as a local and sustainable material, has considerable potential to be further developed in contemporary interior decoration while simultaneously supporting the preservation and visual representation of regional cultural identity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of the school committee in the procurement of learning facilities and infrastructure for Early Childhood Education at TK As Adiyah Lompengeng, to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the school committee’s role, and to analyze the efforts made by the school committee to overcome obstacles in the procurement process.This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the school principal, teachers, school committee members, and representatives of parents.The results of the study indicate that the role of the school committee in the procurement of learning facilities and infrastructure at TK As Adiyah Lompengeng has been carried out well. As an advisory body, the committee is involved in providing suggestions and input on various school program plans. As a supporting body, it contributes both ideas and efforts. As a controlling body, it participates in monitoring the implementation of school programs. As a mediator, it bridges the interests of the community, parents, and the school effectively. However, several inhibiting factors were identified, including the lack of parental participation, differences in interests among stakeholders, and limited trust in the school committee.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how school management contributes to improving the quality of education at SMA Swasta Mutiara Mandau. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of management functions—namely planning, organizing, and evaluation—has been carried out fairly well and has made a significant contribution to enhancing educational quality. Well-structured program planning, the implementation of activities involving all school stakeholders, and regular evaluations are key factors in supporting the quality of learning. However, several challenges remain, including limited facilities and infrastructure as well as low community participation. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen school management through more innovative and collaborative strategies in order to achieve sustainable improvement in educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the implementation of competitions to commemorate Heroes' Day on November 10th at SMA Negeri 13 Merangin. These competitions are one way to commemorate the services of heroes and instill the values ​​of patriotism and nationalism in students. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to describe the process of implementing the competitions and their impact on students and the school environment. The results show that the implementation of competitions at SMA Negeri 13 Merangin is an effort to strengthen students' personalities through various competition activities such as a hero-themed poetry reading competition, a hero-themed speech competition, a hero-themed drawing competition, and a national hero fashion show. In addition, these activities also involve the active roles of teachers, OSIS administrators, and students within the Ministry of National Education as the organizing committee. The positive impacts of these activities include increased creativity, courage, and students' understanding of heroic values, as well as increased cooperation and sportsmanship. These activities also provide students with valuable experience in preparation, collaboration, and healthy competition.

Abstract

Visual arts education at the junior high school level still tends to rely on conventional media, so the use of digital technology in the creative process has not yet been optimized. In fact, the use of digital media has the potential to enhance student learning and creativity. This study aims to describe the implementation of digital canvas through the IbisPaint X application and to analyze the increase in student participation and its impact on creativity and the quality of artwork in illustration drawing lessons in Grade 7 at SMP N 8 Semarang. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation of the art teacher as well as students in Grade 7E and 7H. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and drawing of conclusions, and their validity was tested using triangulation of methods. The results of the study indicate that the use of digital canvases encourages more active student engagement and improves the quality of artwork, as evidenced by improvements in line work, composition, and color application. Additionally, digital features such as undo and layers simplify the creative process, encouraging students to explore more boldly. Technical challenges encountered in the early stages can be addressed through teacher guidance and an adaptation process. Thus, the IbisPaint X-based digital canvas is effective as an innovative medium in visual arts education.

Abstract

A study was conducted with the aim of isolating cinnamyl cinnamate from styrax resin (Styrax paralleoneurum Perk) and reacting it with methyl salicylate from gandapura oil through hydrolysis and esterification. Characterization was performed using FT-IR and GC-MS. The FT-IR results indicated the success of the hydrolysis process, marked by the appearance of an O-H group at 3339.0 cm⁻¹. During the esterification stage, a shift in the carbonyl peak to 1671.0 cm⁻¹ and the appearance of aliphatic C-H absorption peaks at 2939.2 cm⁻¹ and 2850.7 cm⁻¹ originating from gandapura oil occurred, indicating that the reaction had taken place. However, GC-MS analysis showed that the target compound, cinnamyl salicylate methyl ester, had not yet fully formed, with the remaining reactants dominated by methyl salicylate and cinnamic acid. It was concluded that a reaction had occurred at m/z 131 but that it was an equilibrium reaction that had not yet reached total conversion to the target product.

Abstract

Physical education learning in schools is generally still teacher-centered, limiting students’ opportunities to learn according to their developmental stages. This condition highlights the need for more varied instructional models, such as the use of visual media to encourage active student participation in the learning process. Instructional media serve as an effective tool for delivering information and learning materials, enabling students to better absorb content through sensory engagement. Media interact with students by stimulating their senses, sometimes requiring the integration of multiple senses to fully understand the conveyed message. This study aims to determine: (1) the improvement in the effectiveness of teaching the squat-style long jump using image-based media, and (2) the magnitude of this improvement. The subjects of this research were 18 fifth-grade students of SD 1 Sorong. The study employed descriptive and comparative quantitative statistical methods. The results indicate that: (1) there was an increase in the effectiveness of learning the squat-style long jump using image media, as evidenced by improved student learning mastery over four meetings, with an average increase of 6.1%; and (2) the use of image media contributed to an increase in students’ squat-style long jump performance by 12.50%. The t-test analysis showed that the calculated t-value (5.00) was greater than the t-table value (2.11), confirming a significant improvement in learning outcomes.
