Abstract

Students often struggle to develop mathematical reasoning skills when learning algebraic concepts, particularly One Variable Linear Equations (PLSV), as they tend to focus on procedural steps without understanding underlying concepts. This study aims to analyze the mathematical reasoning ability of seventh-grade junior high school students in the context of PLSV material. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving 30 students as research subjects. Data were collected using an essay test developed based on mathematical reasoning indicators—logical manipulation, argument construction, conclusion drawing, and solution verification—supplemented by semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that students’ average scores fall into the medium category, with a highest score of 90 and a lowest of 55. While most students can correctly execute procedural steps, they frequently encounter difficulties in providing logical justifications and verifying their solutions. Students in the high category demonstrate systematic reasoning and accurate conclusions, whereas those in the low category often make conceptual and procedural errors in algebraic manipulation. These results indicate that students’ mathematical reasoning abilities in PLSV remain underdeveloped and require instructional strategies that emphasize thinking processes, conceptual understanding, and active discussion rather than mere procedural practice.

Abstract

Student learning interest in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning is often less than optimal due to the use of assessments and learning media that tend to be conventional and monotonous. This study aims to analyze how student learning interest in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in the digital era. Assessment innovation and the use of learning media using ZepQuiz are expected to create an interactive, enjoyable learning atmosphere and can motivate students to be more active in learning, thereby increasing student learning interest. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Research data was obtained through literature studies from various scientific journals, research articles, and relevant sources discussing gamification and the use of ZepQuiz in learning. From the results of the various literature reviewed by the researcher, gamified learning using ZepQuiz can significantly increase student learning interest, engagement, and motivation through the integration of game elements such as challenges, scores, instant feedback, and healthy competition. In addition, ZEP Quiz functions not only as an evaluation medium, but also as an interactive learning tool that encourages active participation and a fun learning experience.

Abstract

Technology-based learning requires teachers and students to utilize available technology and adapt it to students’ needs. The launch of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children (KAIH) movement aims to instill positive habits in children from an early age so that they grow into healthy, intelligent, and well-characterized individuals. This study aims to investigate students’ perceptions of the use of the 7 KAIH digital journal in recording daily reflections, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by incorporating external variables, namely motivation and habits. The 7 KAIH digital journal, as an innovative and interactive medium, stimulates students’ motivation and habits in forming positive daily behaviors. However, there has been no detailed research examining the use of the 7 KAIH digital journal in elementary schools based on the TAM framework. This quantitative study employs a survey design and a technology acceptance model approach to measure students’ behavioral intentions to use the 7 KAIH digital journal. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 96 student respondents. The data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that, in general, students show an interest in using the 7 KAIH digital journal to record reflections on positive habits. Most elementary school students agree that the 7 KAIH digital journal is easy to use and effective in supporting learning.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the fact that novice Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at the elementary school level are often not fully prepared to design high-quality learning assessments, particularly those that encompass not only cognitive aspects but also affective and psychomotor domains as required by the Merdeka Curriculum. This lack of readiness may lead to misalignment between learning objectives and assessment instruments, as well as limited ability to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based questions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ability of novice teachers to plan, construct, and implement PAI learning assessments in elementary schools and to identify factors influencing the quality of the assessments produced. This research employs a qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews with a novice PAI teacher as the primary informant. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data display, and thematic conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that novice teachers generally understand the fundamental concepts of assessment covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, and they prepare test blueprints as a basis for constructing assessment instruments. However, several challenges were identified, including difficulties in developing HOTS-based questions, determining appropriate difficulty levels considering students' diverse abilities, and limited teaching experience. Training experiences, mentorship from senior teachers, and the availability of assessment examples provided by schools were identified as supporting factors that contribute to improving assessment quality. Therefore, continuous professional development programs focusing on assessment competence are essential to enhance the overall quality of Islamic Religious Education learning. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih ditemukannya guru pemula Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di sekolah dasar yang belum sepenuhnya siap dalam menyusun asesmen pembelajaran yang berkualitas, khususnya asesmen yang tidak hanya berfokus pada aspek kognitif, tetapi juga mencakup aspek afektif dan psikomotorik sebagaimana tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka. Ketidaksiapan tersebut berpotensi menyebabkan ketidaksesuaian antara tujuan pembelajaran (TP) dengan instrumen penilaian, serta rendahnya kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan soal berbasis Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan guru pemula dalam merencanakan, menyusun, dan mengimplementasikan asesmen pembelajaran PAI di sekolah dasar serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas asesmen yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap guru pemula PAI sebagai informan utama. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru pemula telah memahami konsep dasar asesmen yang mencakup aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik, serta telah menyusun kisi-kisi sebagai dasar penyusunan instrumen penilaian. Namun, ditemukan kendala dalam pengembangan soal HOTS, penentuan tingkat kesulitan soal yang sesuai dengan heterogenitas kemampuan siswa, serta keterbatasan pengalaman mengajar. Faktor pelatihan, bimbingan guru senior, serta ketersediaan contoh instrumen dari sekolah menjadi faktor pendukung dalam meningkatkan kualitas asesmen. Dengan demikian, peningkatan kompetensi asesmen bagi guru pemula melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan menjadi kebutuhan penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran PAI secara komprehensif.

Abstract

The Qur’an, as a guide for the lives of Muslims, teaches the importance of reading, understanding, and memorizing it. Early Qur’anic education serves as a foundation for shaping students’ character and spirituality. The Wafa Method, which emphasizes an audio-visual-kinesthetic approach, is believed to facilitate the memorization process. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Wafa Method in improving students’ memorization skills in the Qur’an memorization (tahfidz) learning of seventh-grade students at SMP IT Ar-Rahmah Makassar. Based on theoretical reviews, the Wafa Method has the potential to enhance students’ motivation, memorization quality, and mastery, thereby supporting optimal achievement in tahfidz learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tantangan dan problematika yang dihadapi pendidikan Islam di tengah dinamika globalisasi yang kompleks. Globalisasi membawa pengaruh positif berupa kemajuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, namun juga menghadirkan tantangan berupa masuknya nilai- nilai budaya global yang tidak selalu sejalan dengan prinsip-prinsip Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kepustakaan, mengkaji sumber-sumber ilmiah dari jurnal nasional dan buku akademik terkini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam menghadapi tantangan internal seperti metode pengajaran konvensional, kurikulum yang belum responsif terhadap perubahan zaman, dan rendahnya literasi digital pendidik. Sementara tantangan eksternal mencakup sekularisasi pendidikan, ketimpangan akses, revolusi teknologi, dan isu multikulturalisme. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, dibutuhkan reformulasi kurikulum integratif, peningkatan profesionalitas guru, serta penciptaan lingkungan pendidikan yang mendukung nilai-nilai Islam. Artikel ini merekomendasikan pendekatan pendidikan Islam yang transformatif, adaptif, dan tetap berakar kuat pada nilainilai tauhid dan akhlakul karimah dalam menghadapi tantangan global Pendidikan Islam memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter, moralitas, dan kompetensi peserta didik yang berlandaskan nilai-nilai keislaman. Namun, dalam praktiknya masih ditemukan berbagai problematika yang memengaruhi efektivitas penyelenggaraannya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis problematika pendidikan Islam yang meliputi aspek kurikulum, metode pembelajaran, kualitas sumber daya manusia, manajemen lembaga pendidikan, serta tantangan globalisasi dan perkembangan teknologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka melalui analisis berbagai literatur ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa problematika pendidikan Islam tidak hanya bersumber dari faktor internal seperti keterbatasan kompetensi pendidik dan manajemen yang kurang optimal, tetapi juga faktor eksternal seperti perubahan sosial, budaya, dan tuntutan zaman yang semakin kompleks. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi pembelajaran, penguatan profesionalisme pendidik, serta integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dengan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi agar pendidikan Islam mampu menjawab tantangan masa depan.

Abstract

This study was conducted due to the low level of narrative writing skills among third-grade students at SDN 15 Ulu Gadut, Padang. Students experienced difficulties in generating ideas, organizing story structures coherently, and applying correct spelling and punctuation based on EYD Edition V. In addition, previous teaching practices lacked structured guidance to support students in planning their writing. This research aimed to examine the improvement of narrative writing skills through the use of mind mapping techniques supported by flashcard media. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design involving 18 students conducted in two cycles. The results showed that mind mapping helped students systematically organize their ideas according to narrative structure (beginning, middle, and ending), while flashcards functioned as visual stimuli to enhance imagination and vocabulary. The integration of both strategies effectively improved students’ ability to produce coherent, well-structured, and grammatically appropriate narrative texts.

Abstract

This study examines the urgency of utilizing digital-based learning media in Social Studies (IPS) at the elementary school level as an innovative solution to address the learning style challenges of digital native generations who are more responsive to visual and interactive information compared to conventional teacher-centered and monotonous learning methods through a qualitative approach using library research that systematically collects and analyzes various scientific literature sources to evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning media such as instructional videos, animations, and interactive quizzes in helping students understand abstract Social Studies concepts into more concrete, in-depth, and meaningful knowledge relevant to daily life, and the findings show that the integration of digital media significantly enhances students’ motivation, active participation, and self-confidence through gamification elements and immediate feedback during the learning process while also strengthening digital literacy and 21st-century skills from an early age, although its implementation still faces several challenges such as limited school infrastructure, unequal access to technology, and low teacher competence in designing effective digital learning instruction that may lead to cognitive overload for students; therefore, synergy between government, schools, and teachers is required to improve facility readiness and pedagogical skills so that Social Studies learning in elementary schools can become more dynamic, collaborative, meaningful, and adaptive to technological development in the rapidly evolving digital transformation era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji revitalisasi maharah kalam (keterampilan berbicara) siswa melalui Immersive Language Environment dalam konteks pesantren. Penelitian dilaksanakan di asrama MAN 2 Tanah Datar dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif naturalistik. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, dengan fokus pada praktik dan interaksi bahasa sehari-hari siswa.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan lingkungan bahasa imersif memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa, khususnya dalam aspek kelancaran, kepercayaan diri, dan ketepatan komunikatif. Siswa secara bertahap beralih dari praktik campur kode menuju penggunaan bahasa Arab yang lebih terstruktur dan sesuai konteks. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor pendukung utama, seperti interaksi antarteman, penerapan kebijakan bahasa, serta paparan berkelanjutan terhadap bahasa target, serta faktor-faktor penghambat seperti keterbatasan kosakata, ketidakkonsistenan penggunaan bahasa, dan interferensi bahasa pertama.Selain itu, temuan penelitian ini mendukung perspektif teoretis Stephen Krashen tentang comprehensible input dan Lev Vygotsky tentang interaksi sosial dalam pemerolehan bahasa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa lingkungan bahasa yang imersif dan naturalistik berperan penting dalam merevitalisasi keterampilan berbicara siswa melalui penyediaan pengalaman komunikatif yang autentik. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dan praktis dalam pengajaran bahasa Arab, khususnya dalam perancangan lingkungan bahasa yang efektif di lingkungan pesantren.

Abstract

Integrated Social Studies (IPS) learning is not only aimed at developing students’ conceptual knowledge but also at instilling social, moral, and civic values relevant to social life. However, in practice, IPS instruction often focuses predominantly on cognitive aspects and provides limited opportunities for students to understand, interpret, and internalize values in a reflective manner. This article aims to examine the relevance of the value clarification/interpretation approach in strengthening Integrated Social Studies learning. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by analyzing textbooks, journal articles, and previous research related to the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) in Social Studies instruction. The findings indicate that the value clarification/interpretation approach is highly relevant to be implemented in Integrated Social Studies learning, as it encourages students to think critically, reflectively, and dialogically in understanding social values. Furthermore, this approach contributes to strengthening attitudes, moral decision-making skills, and the development of students’ social character.
