Abstract

Learning the crouch start technique in physical education requires movement precision and strong visual understanding. However, traditional swimming instruction, which is dominated by direct demonstrations and verbal explanations, often fails to provide optimal movement feedback. This study aims to examine the effect of using slow-motion video media in traditional swimming instruction on students’ learning motivation in the crouch start technique material. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of the study consisted of 33 students from the Physical Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. The research instrument was a learning motivation questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and paired sample t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an increase in the average score of students’ learning motivation from 61.12 in the pretest to 77.18 in the posttest. The paired sample t-test results indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of slow-motion video-based learning media has a significant effect on improving students’ learning motivation in the crouch start technique material. Slow-motion video media are effective as a visual tool to support the learning of complex movement techniques in a more engaging, systematic, and meaningful way.

Abstract

The high intensity of social media usage among Generation Alpha students is frequently not accompanied by adequate digital ethics, leading to a crisis of responsibility in virtual environments. This research aims to analyze the implementation of social media ethics education as a strategy to instill the character of responsibility among elementary school students. A qualitative descriptive methodology was employed, focusing on classroom-based pedagogical interventions. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, participant observations, and documentation within the school environment. The theoretical framework utilized Thomas Lickona’s character education components, specifically emphasizing the transition from moral knowing to moral action in digital spaces. The findings reveal that structured social media ethics education significantly enhances students' sense of responsibility. This improvement is evidenced by students' increased ability to filter information, maintain polite digital communication, and understand the long-term consequences of their online presence. The study concludes that integrating digital ethics into the primary education curriculum is essential to transform technical proficiency into ethical habits, thereby fostering responsible digital citizenship in the digital age.

Abstract

Low student achievement in Indonesian language is attributed to the use of conventional teaching methods and the lack of interactive learning media. This study aims to determine the effect of using Vaipen learning media on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Indonesian language at SDN Gayaman Mojokerto. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 25 students. Data collection was conducted through tests and observations. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS version 25. The results showed that the mean pretest score was 44.8 and the mean posttest score was 90.8, indicating an improvement in student learning outcomes following the use of the Vaipen learning media. The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the pretest data were normally distributed with a significance value of 0.111, while the posttest data were not normally distributed with a significance value of 0.000. Therefore, hypothesis testing proceeded using a non-parametric test, specifically the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The test results showed a Z-value of -4.432 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, so H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Vaipen learning media has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in the subject of.

Abstract

Hair perming is one of the techniques in cosmetology aimed at transforming the structure of hair into curls or waves to enhance aesthetic appearance. Along with the development of beauty trends, various innovations in perming techniques have emerged, one of which is double perming. This technique is carried out through two stages of hair rolling to produce curls that are more uniform, well-defined, and longer-lasting. This study aims to describe the concept, techniques, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of double perming in cosmetology. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach, involving the review of various sources such as books, scientific journals, and related documents. The results of the study indicate that the double perming technique is effective in producing consistent wave patterns from the roots to the ends of the hair, resulting in a neater and more aesthetic appearance. This technique also facilitates further styling processes as the hair structure becomes more manageable. However, this technique has a higher level of complexity and has the potential to cause hair damage if not performed properly. Therefore, a good understanding of hair conditions, perming techniques, as well as the appropriate use of tools and materials is required.

Abstract

Volleyball is a sport that requires physical abilities, especially leg muscle power, to support movements such as smashing and blocking. Leg muscle power can be improved through programmed training, one of which is plyometric training. This study aimed to determine the effect of plyometric training on improving leg muscle power of volleyball extracurricular participants at SMAN 12 Merangin. The research method used was an experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 16 participants selected using a total sampling technique. The research instrument used the vertical jump test to measure leg muscle power. The results showed that the mean pre-test score was 61.5 with a minimum of 52 and a maximum of 67, while the mean post-test score increased to 69.0 with a minimum of 62 and a maximum of 78. The normality test indicated that the data were normally distributed, and hypothesis testing using the t-test showed a significant effect of plyometric training on improving leg muscle power. It can be concluded that plyometric training has a positive and significant effect on improving leg muscle power of volleyball extracurricular participants at SMAN 12 Merangin.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students’ science process skills through the implementation of Guided Problem Based Learning (GPBL) oriented toward Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) on simple machines material. This study employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 34 students of class VIII F at SMPN 2 Krian. The research instruments consisted of an observation sheet of learning implementation, a science process skills test, and a student response questionnaire, while the data were collected through observation, tests, and questionnaires. The results showed that the N-Gain value was 0.55, which falls into the moderate category. The paired sample t-test results indicated a significance value (p < 0.001), meaning that there was a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. In addition, students’ responses were categorized as very positive. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the implementation of GPBL oriented toward ESD is able to significantly improve students’ science process skills and generate positive responses toward the learning process on simple machines material.

Abstract

Malay Islamic traditions are a form of religious expression that emerged from the interaction between Islamic teachings and the local culture of the Malay people. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of Malay Islamic traditions and examine their role as a representation of cultural Islam. The method used is library research, utilizing various sources of literature such as books, academic journals, and relevant previous research findings. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive-qualitative approach through an examination of the concepts, values, and practices of Islamic traditions within Malay society.The research findings indicate that Malay Islamic traditions possess key characteristics, including the integration of adat (custom) and syariat (Islamic law), an emphasis on moral and social values, collective religious practices, and the use of cultural symbols that reflect the Islamic identity of the Malay community. Furthermore, this tradition demonstrates a harmonious process of acculturation between Islam and local culture without compromising the fundamental principles of Islamic teachings. Thus, Malay Islamic traditions can be understood as a representation of cultural Islam that presents an adaptive, moderate, and contextual face of Islam in community life.

Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka merupakan salah satu sistem pendidikan yang memberikan kebebasan kepada pihak sekolah dalam mengelola pendidikan sesuai dengan kebutuhan, kultur dan kondisi nyata masing-masing sekolah. Pada kenyataannya dilapangan masih banyak guru yang merasa bahwa peran pemerintah dalam memfasilitasi perubahan kurikulum belum sepenuhnya sampai dan dirasakan oleh guru, masih banyak yang menghadapi kendala teknis dalam mengimplementasikan kurikulum merdeka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana dukungan pemerintah dirasakan guru pada penerapan kurikulum merdeka di lingkup sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif, melalui metode penelitian survey dengan instrument pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan pemerintah dalam mendorong implementasi kurikulum merdeka sudah dirasakan cukup baik dengan adanya Platform Merdeka Mengajar yang mencapai nilai rata-rata tertinggi yaitu 4,00. Guru menganggap PMM membantu dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran juga pengembangan komptensi secara mandiri. Meskipun demikian, lemahnya bantuan teknis melalui pusat layanan atau help desk dengan capaian rata-rata 2,88 cukup menghambat guru dalam menemukan solusi dari permasalahan atau kendala teknis yang dihadapi, layanan yang diberikan bersifat formal dan terlalu umum sehingga sulit bagi guru dalam memecahkan masalah yang bersifat teknis.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative study employing the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing 20 SINTA 1-6 journal articles on changes in the Natural Science curriculum for Elementary Schools in Indonesia from 1990-2025. The study aims to identify transformation patterns in the Natural Science Elementary curriculum from KBK 1994 to Kurikulum Merdeka 2025, classify the dominant learning models, analyze supporting-inhibiting implementation factors, and construct trends in educational paradigm shifts for IPA instruction. Data analysis techniques utilized qualitative content analysis combined with quantitative meta-synthesis through four PRISMA stages (searching 1,247 articles to screening 156 to full-text selection of 20 articles). Analysis employed descriptive-thematic approaches with classification matrices (curriculum periods, learning models, factors, trends), flexibility-effectiveness correlation, and triangulation of policy documents such as Permendikdasmen No.12/2025. Results: Dominance of Kurikulum Merdeka (55%) addresses weaknesses of KBK-KTSP (20%: content overload) and K13 (25%: teacher-centered). Project-based/IPAS excels (40%) improving learning outcomes, student participation, and creativity. Supporting factors include school autonomy, 3-component RPP, digitalization; inhibiting factors: 3T infrastructure, teacher readiness. Trend 2020-2025: teacher-centered to scientific to student-centered/IPAS. Conclusion: Kurikulum Merdeka optimizes historical transformation of IPA SD from fragmented memorization to holistic IPAS exploration, proven effective and strongly correlated or aligned with Vygotsky-Dewey constructivism. Practical implications provide SD teachers with IPAS-project character blueprint priorities, school principals leverage local autonomy, and policymakers focus on 3T digital training. This research serves as a compass for Kurikulum Merdeka toward quality SD science literacy, preparing critical generations for SDGs 4.7 and Indonesia Golden 2045.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of students’ interest in learning mathematics, as indicated by their lack of engagement and enthusiasm during the learning process. The purpose of this study is to develop and examine the effectiveness of an animation video based on Jambi culture in supporting deep learning to enhance students’ interest in learning statistics for Grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Muaro Jambi. This study employs a research and development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research subjects include subject-matter experts, design experts, teachers, and students of SMPN 1 Muaro Jambi. Data were collected through expert validation, practicality questionnaires, effectiveness questionnaires, students’ learning interest questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results of the study show that: (1) the validity test results from the subject-matter expert reached 84.61% (very valid), while the design expert validation score was 80% (valid); (2) the practicality test results indicated that the animation video was rated 83.3% (very practical) by teachers and 87.61% (very practical) by students; (3) the effectiveness test results showed that the student response questionnaire reached 89.68% (very effective), students’ learning interest increased from 48.06% (low) to 83.34% (very high), and the average learning outcomes reached 84.21% (very effective). It can be concluded that the Jambi culture-based animation video is effective in supporting deep learning and improving students’ interest in learning statistics in Grade VIII at SMPN 1 Muaro Jambi.
