Abstract

This study aims to determine the content validity of an audiovisual digital poster as a medium for preventing verbal bullying in elementary schools. The poster is organized into three phases: Phase A for Grade I–II students, Phase B for Grade III–IV students, and Phase C for Grade V–VI students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, and development. The research focused on testing the content validity of the poster. The validation process involved four validators consisting of two material experts and two design experts. The results of material validation showed Aiken’s V values of 0.97368 for Phase A, 0.98246 for Phase B, and 0.92982 for Phase C, all of which fall into the “very valid” category. The design validation results showed Aiken’s V values of 0.93056 for Phase A, 0.94444 for Phase B, and 0.95833 for Phase C, which are also categorized as “very valid”. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the audiovisual digital poster has a very high level of content validity in terms of both material and design aspects, making it highly suitable for product trials.

Abstract

The Independent Internship Program under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative is designed to provide students with relevant learning experiences through direct involvement in the professional work environment. One of the issues identified in language and literature is the low interest of children in reading materials based on local culture and the limited use of language and literature products by students and the community. This initiative aims to enhance language knowledge, strengthen the use of regional languages, and optimize language services by involving students in various activities related to language and literature. Its implementation uses a participatory methodology supported by qualitative descriptive techniques. Students play a role in four main aspects: literacy, revitalization of regional languages, translation, and digital-based language services. The results of the activities showed an increased interest of children in reading local folklore stories, improved language knowledge among students, enhancement of the quality of bilingual children's story manuscripts, and optimization of language content dissemination through digital media. These findings indicate that experiential learning through the MBKM Program is effective in supporting the improvement of literacy, the preservation of local languages, and the development of students' language competencies in a contextual and sustainable manner.

Abstract

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has encouraged the implementation of smart building concepts in building utility management to improve energy efficiency and indoor comfort. This study aims to implement an IoT-based smart building system for automated lighting and room temperature control. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method through system implementation and performance testing by measuring lighting intensity, room temperature, and electrical energy consumption in real time. The system was designed using light and temperature sensors integrated with a microcontroller and a cloud-based monitoring platform. The results indicate that the system maintained an average lighting level of 285 lux in accordance with SNI 03-6575-2001 standards and stabilized room temperature within the range of 24–25°C. The implementation also achieved energy savings of 22% compared to manual operation, with a system response time of approximately 5–7 seconds. These findings demonstrate that IoT-based automation can enhance environmental stability while optimizing building energy usage. This study contributes to the development of IoT-based building utility automation supporting smart and sustainable building concepts

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The implementation process of the Songkabala tradition in Bontolabbu Hamlet as a form of local wisdom in community life. 2) The local wisdom values contained within the Songkabala tradition. 3) The implementation of the Songkabala tradition in preventing deviant behavior within the community. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process involves data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate: 1) The Songkabala tradition in Bontolabbu Hamlet is carried out through structured stages: (a) pre-implementation, which prioritizes deliberation (musyawarah), (b) the ritual implementation stage, which integrates customary rules with religious values, and (c) post-implementation, characterized by communal dining and mutual cooperation (gotong royong) as social instruments to strengthen social bonds. 2) The noble values contained include: (a) the value of mutual cooperation through voluntary collaboration, (b) religious values as a guide for surrendering to God, (c) the value of silaturahmi (social kinship) which removes social barriers, and (d) the value of deliberation in reaching a consensus regarding technical aspects of the event. 3) The implementation of this tradition effectively prevents deviant behavior through: (a) strengthening social solidarity as a natural monitoring system, (b) serving as a medium for instilling moral values and social norms in the younger generation, and (c) the ritual acting as a means of self-control to ward off misfortune. This research demonstrates that Songkabala successfully creates social boundaries and mental fortresses for the community to maintain harmony in accordance with ancestral expectations.

Abstract

The accelerating growth of artificial intelligence (AI) has started to transform the landscape of language learning, opening up new possibilities for interactive and personalized educational support. In EFL settings, particularly in geographically isolated and resource-limited regions, students frequently encounter restricted access to authentic speaking partners and inadequate opportunities for oral practice. Although AI-powered tools hold considerable promise in addressing this gap by simulating conversational exchanges, empirical investigations into how students personally experience AI as a speaking partner within real classroom environments remain scarce, particularly in higher education settings across Eastern Indonesia. This study seeks to examine the experiences of university students who used AI as a conversational partner in an EFL speaking classroom in Papua, Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research was conducted with one intact class of undergraduate students enrolled in a speaking course. Data were gathered through classroom observations, students' reflective journals, and semi-structured interviews, and were subsequently analyzed thematically to uncover meaningful patterns and interpretations.The findings indicate that AI-assisted speaking activities strengthened learners' confidence, alleviated anxiety, and encouraged greater learner autonomy by enabling flexible and repeated practice opportunities. Students also viewed AI as a non-judgmental conversation partner that aided in vocabulary building and idea formulation. Nonetheless, challenges pertaining to technological access and over-dependence on AI were also identified. The study highlights the pedagogical significance of incorporating AI into speaking instruction and offers practical insights for technology-enhanced language teaching in similarly underserved contexts, with broader implications for fostering learners' communicative competence and digital readiness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the tahfidz program in fostering a love for the Qur'an among students in an Islamic educational environment. Love for the Qur'an is a fundamental component in developing good Muslim character, encompassing understanding, practice, and a deep love for the holy book. The tahfidz program, as a means of religious education, serves to bring students closer to the Qur'an through memorization and contemplation of verses. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at RTQ Aflaha. Data were obtained from in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and program holders, as well as observations of the implementation of tahfidz activities and document analysis. Through data analysis techniques including data reduction, data presentation, and verification, this study seeks to holistically dissect the phenomenon of students' spirituality. The results of the study have shown that a tahfidz program that is implemented routinely and well integrated into Islamic educational management can have a significant influence on increasing students' love for the Qur'an. Factors such as innovative teaching methods, encouragement from the school and family environment, and teacher skills are factors in the program's success.  Teachers at RTQ Aflaha play an active role in guiding and correcting tajwid (Quran recitation), while also providing much-needed motivation for students to maintain consistent memorization. However, there are challenges, including limited time and student motivation, that must be overcome. The management addresses these challenges by providing regular appreciation, personal guidance, and structured schedule management for students. Therefore, the tahfidz program is an effective way to foster positive relationships with students through the Quran, which contributes to improving their spirituality and morals.

Abstract

This study explores ethical decision-making (EDM) from an Adventist perspective by proposing a framework grounded in Biblical principles and the writings of Ellen G. White. Ethical decision-making has been widely discussed across various disciplines, particularly through philosophical approaches such as deontology and utilitarianism, which respectively emphasize actions and consequences. However, limited research has focused on a religion-based EDM model, especially within the Seventh-day Adventist context. Using a descriptive analysis method, this study reviews relevant literature on existing EDM models, philosophical theories, and the role of religiosity in influencing ethical behavior. The findings indicate that personal values and religious commitment significantly shape decision-making processes. Based on this foundation, the study proposes a four-step Adventist EDM framework: (1) growing in the mind and character of Christ, (2) honoring God by doing what is right, (3) seeking God’s guidance through prayer and Scripture, and (4) making decisions based on God’s will rather than fear of consequences. This proposed model emphasizes a personal relationship with God as the core of ethical decision-making and highlights faith, obedience, and spiritual growth as essential elements. The study contributes to the existing literature by offering a faith-based perspective on EDM and provides practical guidance for individuals, particularly Seventh-day Adventists, in addressing ethical dilemmas in daily life and the workplace.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the retention of Integrated Science (IPAS) learning materials among third-grade students of SD Negeri Gamping through the use of flashcard media. Learning retention is a crucial aspect in elementary education as it reflects students’ ability to recall previously learned material over a certain period. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 23 third-grade students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through retention tests, observation, and documentation. The retention test was administered several days after the post-test to measure students’ memory retention. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ retention after the implementation of flashcard media. At the end of the study, 82.6% of students achieved a high retention category, exceeding the predetermined success indicator of 75%. In addition, students’ activeness and engagement in the learning process increased from Cycle I to Cycle II. These findings indicate that flashcard media are effective in improving students’ retention of IPAS learning materials.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the growing popularity of Chinese dramas as a global medium that functions not only as entertainment but also as a means of representing cultural values, particularly in the context of family life rich in social meaning. One of the notable dramas is The First Frost, which portrays the life dynamics of the main female character, Wen Yifan, through various emotional experiences and complex social relationships. This study aims to analyze how cultural values are represented in the family life of the character.The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with cultural representation analysis through observation of scenes, dialogues, and interactions between characters. The results and discussion show that the representation of cultural values in this drama is manifested in three main dimensions: the essence of life, depicted through experiences of loss and suffering; the perception of time, influenced by past experiences that shape individuals’ perspectives on present life; and human relationships, portrayed through various forms of interaction, including hierarchical, supportive, and socially pressured relationships. These values are not conveyed explicitly but are constructed through representational practices that symbolically shape meaning.The conclusion of this study is that The First Frost selectively represents cultural values through the experiences of the main character, indicating that audiovisual media not only reflects social reality but also actively constructs and transmits cultural meanings.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Developmental supervision is an approach to teacher professional development that emphasizes individual growth based on career stages, competencies, and teachers’ needs. In the modern era, characterized by rapid technological advancement and increasingly complex educational demands, this supervision model has become highly relevant for improving the quality of learning. This study aims to examine the concept, principles, and implementation of developmental supervision as a model for teacher professional development. The method used is a literature review of various books and scientific journals. The findings indicate that developmental supervision is capable of continuously enhancing teachers’ pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. Therefore, the implementation of developmental supervision is highly recommended in modern education systems. Keywords: developmental supervision, teacher professionalism, teacher development, modern education ABSTRAK Supervisi perkembangan merupakan pendekatan pembinaan profesional guru yang menekankan pada pertumbuhan individu berdasarkan tahap perkembangan karier, kemampuan, dan kebutuhan guru. Di era modern yang ditandai dengan perkembangan teknologi dan tuntutan pendidikan yang semakin kompleks, model supervisi ini menjadi sangat relevan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep, prinsip, serta implementasi supervisi perkembangan sebagai model pembinaan profesional guru. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dari berbagai buku dan jurnal ilmiah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa supervisi perkembangan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kepribadian guru secara berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, penerapan supervisi perkembangan sangat direkomendasikan dalam sistem pendidikan modern. Kata kunci: supervisi perkembangan, profesionalisme guru, pembinaan guru, pendidikan modern
