Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

Religious tolerance is a very valuable value in diverse Indonesian society, especially in the school environment, which is a place of interaction between students with various religious backgrounds. This study aims to explain: (1) the attitude of mutual respect among students in Pancasila Education learning, (2) the role of the Pancasila Education learning process in strengthening attitudes of mutual respect, and (3) factors that influence success in strengthening attitudes of religious tolerance. The research method used is qualitative with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The research findings show that students demonstrate attitudes of mutual respect through active participation, acceptance of different opinions, and avoidance of discrimination. The learning process plays a role through the use of discussion methods, role models from teachers, and connecting material with the context of diversity. Supporting factors include student awareness, examples given by teachers, school culture, and the social environment. It can be concluded that Pancasila Education has a significant role in strengthening attitudes of religious tolerance, especially in attitudes of respect for others.

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of pop-up book teaching aids on student learning outcomes in the Solar System material. This study was motivated by the low student learning outcomes due to the dominance of conventional learning methods and the lack of use of interesting learning media. The type of research used was an experiment with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study was all 49 sixth-grade students of SD Inpres Je'netallasa, with a sample consisting of class VI A as the control class and class VI B as the experimental class. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests (pretest and posttest), observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with t-test tests. The results showed that the average pretest score of the experimental class was 55.48 and the control class was 57.12, which indicated that students' initial abilities were relatively the same. After being given treatment, the average posttest score of the experimental class increased to 82.35 and was in the completed category, while the control class obtained an average of 60.40 in the incomplete category. The results of the hypothesis test show a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, so H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of pop-up book teaching aids has a significant effect on student learning outcomes in the Solar System material.

This study aims to determine the effect of inquiry-based Indonesian language learning methods on the critical thinking skills of class X TKRO 1 students at SMK Sultan Agung 1 Tebuireng Jombang. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) approach which is implemented in two cycles, each cycle includes the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were tirty eight class X TKRO 1 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of inquiry-based learning methods can improve students' critical thinking skills. This is indicated by an increase in the average value and percentage of student learning completion from pre-action to Cycle I and a significant increase in Cycle II. Thus, the inquiry-based learning method is proven to be effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning.

This study aimed to analyze the contribution of leg speed, arm reaction speed, leg power, and arm power to the speed of the Gyaku Tsuki punching technique in female athletes at Jagabaya Raharja Dojo. The research employed a descriptive method with a correlational approach. The sample consisted of 20 female athletes selected using a total sampling technique. The research instruments included tests of leg speed, arm reaction speed, leg power, arm power, and Gyaku Tsuki punching speed. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson Product Moment correlation to examine partial relationships, as well as multiple correlation with the F-test to analyze simultaneous relationships at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that leg speed had a significant relationship with the speed of the Gyaku Tsuki punch (r = 0.749). Arm reaction speed demonstrated a very strong and significant relationship (r = 0.896). Leg power also showed a significant relationship (r = 0.609), while arm power had a strong and significant relationship (r = 0.722). Simultaneously, leg speed, arm reaction speed, leg power, and arm power were significantly related to the speed of the Gyaku Tsuki technique, with a multiple correlation value of R = 0.933 and a contribution of 87%. These findings indicate that all research hypotheses were accepted, and these biomotor components should be developed in an integrated manner to improve the speed of the Gyaku Tsuki technique in karate athletes.

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between arm muscle strength, hip muscle strength, and leg muscle power with the speed of Seoi Nage throwing performance among male athletes aged 16–20 years at the Seishin Judoka Club training center. The research applied a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The sample consisted of 20 athletes selected through a total sampling technique. The instruments included arm muscle strength tests, hip muscle strength tests, leg muscle power tests, and a Seoi Nage throwing speed test. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation and multiple regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS at a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated that (1) there was a significant relationship between arm muscle strength and Seoi Nage throwing speed (r = 0.601 > r-table = 0.444), (2) hip muscle strength also showed a significant relationship (r = 0.640 > r-table = 0.444), and (3) leg muscle power had a significant relationship with throwing speed (r = 0.700 > r-table = 0.444). Simultaneously, the three variables showed a significant relationship with Fcount = 7.401 > Ftable = 3.239 and contributed 58.1%. In conclusion, arm muscle strength, hip muscle strength, and leg muscle power play an important role in improving the speed of Seoi Nage throwing performance in judo athletes.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Quizwhizzer game-based digital learning media in improving elementary students’ critical thinking indicators in IPAS learning. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects were fifth-grade students divided into an experimental class (n = 21) and a control class (n = 16). Data were collected through critical thinking essay tests based on established indicators and analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-Gain, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and Mann–Whitney U Test. The results show that both groups experienced improvement; however, the experimental class demonstrated a significantly higher increase compared to the control class (p < 0.001). The N-Gain score of the experimental class was categorized as low (g = 0.19), yet it was substantially higher than that of the control class (g = 0.03). The effect size analysis indicated a large effect (r = 0.66), confirming a strong practical impact of the intervention. These findings indicate that Quizwhizzer is statistically effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking indicators through interactive and game-based learning approaches.

The use of expressive speech acts by teachers during the learning process sometimes gets a positive response from students. However, sometimes it also gets a negative response because teachers do not always use appropriate speech and speaking strategies to students during the learning process. This study aims to describe the forms of expressive speech acts and speaking strategies of Indonesian language teachers in learning news texts in class VII of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The data in this study include words, phrases, and sentences containing expressive speech acts and speaking strategies derived from teacher speech. Data were obtained through the technique of listening to free conversation involvement (SBLC), recording, and taking notes with the main instrument being the researcher herself. The results of the study showed that there were 102 expressive speech acts used by teachers, namely speech acts of saying thank you, speech acts of criticizing, speech acts of complaining, speech acts of praising, speech acts of sarcasm, speech acts of blaming, and speech acts of apologizing. In addition, the speech strategies used by teachers, namely the strategy of speaking without formalities, speech strategies with positive politeness politeness, speech strategies with negative politeness politeness, and vague speech strategies.

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the use of animated video media and the understanding of fictional stories among third-grade students. This study employed a descriptive correlational research design aimed at determining the relationship between the use of animated video media and students’ understanding of fictional stories in the third grade at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih Makassar City. The population of this study consisted of all third-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih Makassar City. The sample investigated was class III.A, consisting of 23 students, selected using purposive sampling technique. The variables measured were the use of animated video media and students’ understanding of fictional stories. The use of animated video media was measured using an observation sheet conducted during the learning process, while students’ understanding of fictional stories was obtained from the results of a comprehension test. The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed that the use of animated video media among third-grade students was quantitatively categorized as very good with an average score of 37.3, and the results of the fictional story comprehension test were quantitatively categorized as good with an average score of 81.1. Simple correlation analysis was used to test the relationship between the use of animated video media and students’ understanding of fictional stories. The results of the study involving 23 respondents showed that the calculated correlation coefficient (r-count) was 0.770, while the r-table value was 0.413. This indicates that the calculated correlation value was higher than the r-table value. Based on the findings above, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media has a relationship with the understanding of fictional stories among third-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih Makassar City.

This study was motivated by the low reading interest of students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih Makassar, as indicated by the lack of enthusiasm toward literacy activities, the low number of library visitors, and students’ less conducive behavior during reading activities. This study aims to determine the relationship between the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) and the reading interest character in Indonesian language subjects of third-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih Makassar. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a correlational method. The study was conducted at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih, Mamajang District, Makassar City. The population consisted of all third-grade students totaling 52 students, with a sample of 24 students from class III A selected using purposive sampling technique. Data collection instruments included an observation sheet to measure the implementation of the School Literacy Movement and a questionnaire in the form of multiple-choice statements to measure students’ reading interest character. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis and Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results showed that the implementation of the School Literacy Movement in the third grade at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih was in the good category, with an average score of 31.0 out of a maximum score of 40. All students showed varying levels, ranging from less good to very good, with an equal number of 6 students in each category. Meanwhile, students’ reading interest character was also in the good category, with an average score of 61.6, where 12.5% of students were in the sufficient category, 54.2% in the good category, and 33.3% in the very good category. The results of the Product Moment correlation test showed an r-value of 0.653, which is higher than the r-table value at a 5% significance level (n-2 = 22), which is 0.433. Therefore, the research hypothesis is accepted, indicating that there is a positive and significant relationship between the implementation of the School Literacy Movement and the reading interest character of third-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Cendrawasih Makassar in Indonesian language

Reading ability is one of the fundamental skills that must be mastered by elementary school students because it supports the learning process in various subjects. However, some students still experience difficulties in reading fluently, which can affect their academic development. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Rehat Literasi program in strengthening the reading ability of elementary school students at SDN 1 Weru Lor through the Pengabdian Mahasiswa di Sekolah (PMdS) program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, documentation, and interviews as data collection techniques. The program was implemented from September 29 to December 1, 2025, involving students from grades I to VI who had not yet achieved reading fluency. Activities were conducted in the school library after class hours through guided reading assistance according to students’ reading levels. In addition, the Bintang Literasi program was implemented as a reward system to motivate students to participate actively in reading activities. The results show that the Rehat Literasi program contributed to improving students’ reading fluency and increasing their interest in reading. Students became more confident in reading and were more enthusiastic about participating in literacy activities. Therefore, the Rehat Literasi program can serve as an effective strategy to support the strengthening of basic literacy skills among elementary school students.
