Abstract

Abstract

The digital age has brought about significant transformations in the world of education, including in the teaching of traditional dance. This study aims to conduct a narrative analysis of the practices of a teacher at State Senior High School 16 in Semarang in integrating the YouTube platform as a medium for teaching traditional dance in the classroom. Using a qualitative approach and narrative study methods, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that the use of YouTube not only increases student engagement in the learning process but also expands their access to various references on traditional dance from different regions. The teacher utilizes dance videos as learning resources, assessment tools, and a means for student self-reflection. The integration of YouTube also facilitates more flexible and contextual learning, although it still faces challenges such as limited internet access and digital literacy skills. This study recommends enhanced training for teachers in the use of technology as well as the development of high-quality digital content for arts and culture education.

Abstract

The increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, especially ChatGPT, has changed how students participate in educational activities. ChatGPT is an AI-powered application that helps students get information, understand course material, answer academic questions, and do assignments more quickly. Despite these benefits, empirical data is still required to elucidate its impact on students' learning efficacy. Thus, this study looked at how ChatGPT use affected students' learning outcomes in the Civic Education Study Program at Universitas Riau's Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. An explanatory research strategy was used in conjunction with a quantitative method. 141 students were chosen for the research using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data, which IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 was used to analyze using simple linear regression and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. Students' learning effectiveness and ChatGPT use were shown to be positively and statistically significantly correlated (r = 0.542; p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.294, and the regression analysis yielded the equation Ŷ = 25.083 + 0.344X. According to these findings, ChatGPT was responsible for 29.4% of the variance in students' learning efficiency, while factors beyond the purview of this study were responsible for the other 70.6%. Overall, the results show that ChatGPT is a useful use of artificial intelligence in higher education and may promote more effective learning when used carefully, critically, and responsibly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the surrounding environment as a learning resource for the topic "Me and the Surrounding Environment" in the third-grade class at SD Negeri 2 Karang Anyar, as well as to identify the obstacles encountered and the teachers' efforts in implementing this approach. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, involving teachers, students, and the school principal as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the school environment is utilized as a learning resource through the use of real objects—such as leaves, trees, plants, soil, stones, the schoolyard, the garden, and the school building—alongside activities involving observation, discussion, note-taking, and presentations. This utilization aligns with the characteristics of the IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) curriculum regarding the environment and enables students to gain direct learning experiences. Obstacles identified include student distractibility, limited facilities and tools, time constraints, and weather or environmental conditions. Teachers' efforts to address these challenges include providing guidance and support, utilizing available tools and materials, managing time effectively, and adapting activities to environmental conditions. The findings demonstrate that the school environment serves as both a learning resource and a learning venue, integrating real objects, student activities, and the teacher's role as a facilitator.

Abstract

The use of antibiotics in pediatric patients requires special evaluation due to the risk of inappropriate therapy and its contribution to antibiotic resistance. Differences in pharmacokinetic characteristics in children necessitate rational and standardized antibiotic use. This study aimed to evaluate the appropriateness of antibiotic use among outpatient pediatric patients aged 0–12 years at Karanggede Sisma Medika Hospital, Boyolali, using the Gyssens method to assess the rationality of antibiotic therapy. This study employed a descriptive observational design with a retrospective approach using 190 medical records. The inclusion criteria consisted of outpatient pediatric medical records of patients receiving antibiotic therapy with complete demographic and clinical data, while patients referred to other hospitals were excluded. Data were analyzed univariately to describe the frequency distribution and percentages of patient characteristics and the appropriateness of antibiotic use. The results showed that most antibiotic use was rational (93.89%), while inappropriate use accounted for 6.11%, including incorrect dosage (0.76%), inappropriate antibiotic selection (3.05%), and antibiotic administration without indication (2.29%). These findings indicate that antibiotic use among outpatient pediatric patients was generally appropriate; however, periodic evaluation remains necessary to prevent antibiotic resistance. Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving skills are an essential competency for students, yet in Indonesia, this competency remains relatively low, according to the 2022 PISA results. A similar situation was observed at SMP Negeri 3 Bintan, where students still struggle to model problems mathematically in the SPLDV curriculum a challenge believed to be linked to low self-confidence. This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving skills of students with high self-confidence in solving maritime themed SPLDV problems. This study employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, focusing on two eighth-grade students from Class VIII.A at SMP Negeri 3 Bintan, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a self-confidence questionnaire, a mathematical problem-solving ability test, and interviews; they were then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that students with high self-confidence are able to understand problems and plan solutions well and successfully, but they are not yet optimal in the stages of solving problems according to plan and performing a final check. Therefore, high self-confidence does not guarantee that students are able to complete all stages of mathematical problem solving.
