Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

Massive global climate change is happening today, resulting in frequent unexpected weather changes. This condition poses a major challenge to various sectors such as aviation, education, and especially the agricultural sector. Metro City as one of the regions in Indonesia that has great potential in the agricultural sector cannot be spared from being an area affected by this natural phenomenon. Therefore, it is necessary to use an effective and accurate prediction method to handle these uncertainties and fluctuations. This study aims to predict rainfall in Metro City using the average-based Fuzzy Time Series Markov Chain method as a prediction method that is known to be effective in analyzing uncertain and fluctuating time series as a decision-making consideration for agricultural actors and the Metro City government. The data used in this study is secondary data in the form of monthly average rainfall data for Metro City for the period April 2020 to March 2025 obtained from the Lampung Province Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). The results of the study showed that the Fuzzy Time Series Markov Chain method had a fairly good level of accuracy in making predictions with MAE and MAPE values of 28.61712 and 43%. So it can be concluded that the Fuzzy Time Series Markov Chain method is suitable for predicting rainfall data in Metro City for the next month period.

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the implementation of academic qualification standards and educator competencies at SMPIT At-Taubah Karawang. The focus of the study lies in how teachers and educational staff meet professional standards through academic qualifications, a series of scientific competency development programs, and ongoing programs. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results show that teachers at SMPIT At-Taubah have academic qualifications that are in line with national standards while integrating Islamic boarding school traditions, such as the obligation to read the Qur'an well, memorize at least Juz 30, and teach yellow books. In addition, the school routinely conducts teacher competency evaluations, provides opportunities to participate in training from various institutions, and encourages professional development through seminars and workshops. These findings show that collaboration between schools, foundations, and external institutions plays an important role in maintaining the quality of learning. Thus, strengthening academic qualifications and teacher competencies has proven to be a major factor in improving the quality of Islamic-based education that is adaptive to current developments.

This study aims to estimate the value of democratic character building in elementary school students through a qualitative descriptive approach with the research object at SDN 14 Rianiate. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to explore the role of education in shaping a generation committed to national values, possessing a spirit of nationalism, and being able to appreciate differences and prioritize common interests. The results of the study indicate that the development of democratic character can be realized through a holistic Pancasila learning strategy, active teacher involvement, and real activities such as democracy day that train students to get used to deliberation in making joint decisions and foster an attitude of tolerance and awareness of togetherness.

This study aims to develop a product in the form of an ethnomathematics-based comic as a learning medium for the material of flat shapes in grade III of elementary school which will be feasible and practical to be used in the learning process. The method used in this study is the development method or research & development (R & D). The model used in this development research is 4D which consists of four stages, namely Define, Design, Development, Dissimination. The subjects of the research trial were grade III students of SD Negeri 010 Talontam Benai. The instruments used were expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires of student and teacher responses. The results of this study, the assessment of product feasibility by validators of material experts, media experts, and language experts with an overall average percentage of 91.85% with a very valid category. And the practicality test conducted by the teacher obtained an overall average percentage of 92.38% with a very practical category. And the one to one trial obtained an average of 93% with a very practical category, and the limited test conducted obtained an average of 92.18% with a very practical category. Thus, ethnomathematics-based comics are feasible and practical to use.

This study aims to examine the effect of the Self-Directed Learning (SDL) model on students’ learning motivation at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. SDL is considered an approach that allows students to set goals, manage strategies, and reflect on their learning process, thereby strengthening intrinsic motivation. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design, involving one experimental and one control class. Data were collected through observation questionnaires on learning motivation during the learning process. Instrument testing confirmed validity and reliability with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.873. The data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The t-test showed a value of 3.421 with a p-value of 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group achieved a higher mean score (82.15) compared to the control group (74.32). These findings support Knowles’ SDL concept and Deci and Ryan’s Self-Determination Theory, which highlight autonomy and competence as key factors for intrinsic motivation. The study concludes that SDL is effective at the secondary school level, and teachers are encouraged to act as facilitators who foster students’ learning independence.

This study was conducted by researchers referring to initial observations where researchers found the fact that the teaching module used was not in accordance with the guidelines for implementing the independent curriculum, where data that was designed visually still required data in the form of clear images or illustrations and materials that were not yet appropriate, especially in sociology subjects. This study aims to (1) determine the level of development needs, (2) design sociology subject teaching modules, (3) determine the level of validation of teaching modules, (4) determine the level of practicality of teaching modules. This study uses an R&D approach with the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Data collection techniques use questionnaires and documentation. This study was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Luwu Timur with a total of 30 students and 1 sociology subject teacher as research subjects. The results of this study indicate that the needs analysis is at the level of need, needed because the previous teaching devices were not optimal, which were dominated by printed books, so that interactive teaching modules were needed and contained reading materials, videos and evaluation instruments. Then in the design of the teaching module developed using software such as Microsoft Word, Canva, Capcut and hardware using a printer. The level of product validity based on the alpha test of learning media experts is in a very valid qualification, then the material/content experts are in a very valid qualification so that it can be tested in the field. The level of product practicality is in a very practical qualification and the teacher's response results are in a very practical qualification. Based on the results of research and development, this teaching module is able to increase student involvement and understanding in accordance with the principles of the independent curriculum and can be an innovative alternative in supporting the learning process.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of learning Kitab Takallam on maharah kitabah (writing skills) using the Mind Mapping model at SD IT Nurul Iman Palembang. Arabic language learning, particularly writing skills, is often perceived as difficult, monotonous, and less engaging for students. Therefore, the Mind Mappingmodel was applied as an innovative approach to enhance students’ creativity, involvement, and understanding of the material. This research employed a mixed-method design with a pre-test and post-test one group designwithout a control class. The subjects were 19 fifth-grade students at SD IT Nurul Iman Palembang. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and tests (pre-test and post-test). Data analysis was conducted qualitatively using Miles and Huberman’s model and quantitatively using normality tests, t-tests, and N-Gain Score. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ writing skills after applying the Mind Mapping model, with higher post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. These findings demonstrate that the use of Mind Mapping in Kitab Takallam learning is effective in improving students’ maharah kitabah.

This study explores the efforts and motivations of students at Institut Agama Islam Al-Zaytun Indonesia (IAI AL-AZIS) in generating additional income during their studies to support financial needs and Mandatory Student Contributions (SWM). A descriptive qualitative approach was employed with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of six selected students. Findings reveal engagement in small businesses, campus work, and digital platforms. Motivation analysis based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Self-Determination Theory (SDT) includes physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs. Economic activities contribute to character development and independence. Recommendations include enhanced campus support via scholarships, entrepreneurship training, and mentoring.

The development of an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum is a fundamental aspect in producing a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also imbued with noble character in accordance with national education goals. The curriculum is viewed as a strategic tool that guides students in the learning process toward spiritual, cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies. This article discusses the basic concepts, components, and steps in developing an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum that is oriented towards values, social relevance, and the needs of students in the modern era. The analysis shows that the development of the PAI curriculum emphasizes the integration of national education goals, Islamic principles, and implementation strategies that are contextualized to the socio-cultural conditions of society. Thus, the PAI curriculum functions not only as a tool for transmitting knowledge but also as an instrument for character formation and social ethics in everyday life.

Tahnik and aqiqah are two sunnah practices in Islam performed at the birth of a child. This article exploresthe relevance of these two practices as part of children's rights in Islam and examines how theirimplementation can influence contemporary Islamic education. The research employed a library study method with textual analysis of the Qur'an, hadith, and current academic literature. The results found thattahnik and aqiqah have fundamental symbolic, spiritual, social, and educational functions as children's rights. Implications for contemporary Islamic education include the integration of practical values into the curriculum, the character of education from the neonatal period, and the role of parents and society insupporting child development.
