Abstract

The teaching of physics and biology as part of science education in high school should be linked to real-world phenomena and local culture so that students can understand scientific concepts in context. One aspect of Minangkabau culture that has the potential to serve as a learning resource in high school is Silek Kumango, a style of silek originating from Nagari Kumango, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra. This study aims to examine Minangkabau Silek Kumango through an ethoscience approach by identifying the physics and biology concepts present in its movements as a potential learning resource for high school students. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach based on a literature review. Data were collected from scientific articles, documents, and previous research findings regarding Silek Kumango, ethnoscience, and culture-based science education. The findings indicate that Silek Kumango incorporates physics concepts such as motion, force, equilibrium, impulse, momentum, work, energy, torque, center of mass, and friction. From a biological perspective, Silek Kumango relates to the human musculoskeletal system, muscle function, joints, neural coordination, body balance, reflex responses, respiration, and physical fitness. The integration of Silek Kumango into high school physics and biology instruction can serve as a contextual learning resource for topics such as motion, energy, the human musculoskeletal system, the nervous system, the respiratory system, and the circulatory system. This study demonstrates that local culture functions not only as a cultural heritage but also as a bridge between community knowledge and scientific knowledge in schools.

Abstract

This research was conducted to design a Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Activity Worksheet (LAPD) for the topic of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions, while evaluating its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing students' critical thinking abilities. The approach employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the 4-D model, encompassing the phases of definition, design, development, and dissemination. Limited product trials were carried out with 32 students at SMA Negeri 1 Gedangan utilizing a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. Data collection tools included validation sheets, student response questionnaires, activity observation forms, and critical thinking skills assessments. Research findings revealed that the developed LAPD achieved a highly valid rating according to expert evaluations. Its practicality was demonstrated by a 98.52% student response rate (categorized as excellent) and 100% relevant student engagement during learning sessions. Meanwhile, the LAPD's effectiveness was evident in the observed improvement in students' critical thinking skills, as measured by N-gain scores falling in the moderate category. These results were further supported by paired sample t-test analysis, yielding a significance value <0.05, indicating a substantial difference between pretest and posttest scores. Based on these outcomes, the PBL-based LAPD is deemed valid, practical, and effective for advancing students' critical thinking skills on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution topics.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limitations of disaster programs and the lack of disaster teaching materials in disaster-prone schools that lead to low student preparedness. Based on these problems, the Ethno-STEM-based LANDMART (Landslide Mitigation and Readiness Training) Digital Flipbook was developed as an alternative solution to make students have disaster preparedness, especially for junior high school students. This study aims to analyze the level of validity of the developed product and examine the level of readability of students in the Ethno-STEM-based LANDMART Digital Flipbook. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method adapted from the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Validity testing was carried out using instruments given to material experts, media experts, and teaching materials experts. A limited-scale trial was conducted through a readability test on 30 students from two different schools. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods to obtain an overview of the feasibility and readability of the product. The results of the study showed that the product validation level achieved a score of 91.98%, categorized as "very valid." Specifically, validation from material experts achieved 88.93%, media experts 93.71%, and teaching materials experts 93.32%, categorized as "very valid." Furthermore, the readability test obtained an average score of 93.6%, categorized as "very good."

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to assess the impact of the STEAM-based PjBL model on the creativity of class X pupils at SMA Budi Luhur Samarinda in relation to ecology topics through outdoor activities. The methodology of this investigation was quasi-experimental and used a posttest-only control group approach. The study sample included 50 pupils, specifically class X-2, which used the STEAM-based PjBL approach through outdoor activities as the experimental class, and class X-1, which employed the PBL model as the control class. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling approach. A creativity observation rubric with markers for fluency, flexibility, originality elaboration, and individual contribution served as the research instrument. The SPSS version 25 was used to conduct data analysis, including hypothesis tests, normality tests, and homogeneity tests, utilizing independent sample t-tests. The study found that the average score for student creativity in the experimental group was 88.16, but the control group's score was 78.60. A hypothesis test yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, leading to the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of Ha. Therefore, it may be deduced that the STEAM-based PjBL model has a considerable impact on the creativity of class X students at SMA Budi Luhur Samarinda when it comes to ecosystem content through outdoor activities.

Abstract

The armyworm is a major pest that can reduce crop yields. Control using chemical pesticides carries the risk of causing health problems, environmental pollution, and pest resistance. Therefore, safer and more environmentally friendly alternatives in the form of botanical pesticides are needed. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L.) and PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) from bamboo roots (Gigantochloa apus) on the mortality of armyworms (Spodoptera litura) on green mustard plants (Brassica juncea L). The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RBD), consisting of 8 treatments and 4 replicates, resulting in 32 experimental units. The results showed that soursop leaf extract and PGPR from bamboo apus roots, at an optimal concentration of 70%, significantly increased armyworm mortality to 85%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a feasible problem-solving-based E-LKPD on salt hydrolysis material to improve students’ critical thinking skills. The indicators of critical thinking skills include interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model. The research procedures consisted of the define, design, and were limited to the develop stage. The feasibility of the E-LKPD was reviewed based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness aspects. The validity of the E-LKPD, based on content and construct aspects, obtained a mode score of 5, categorized as valid. The practicality of the E-LKPD was reviewed from the response questionnaire, which obtained an average percentage of 97% categorized as very strong, and the observation results of students’ activities showed an average percentage of relevant activities of 97%, categorized as very strong, while irrelevant activities obtained 3%, categorized as very weak. The effectiveness of the E-LKPD was reviewed from the N-Gain Score results of the pretest and posttest on critical thinking skills, with an average score of 0.81 categorized as high, and the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significance value of ≤ 0.05, indicating that H1 was accepted. These results indicate that the implementation of the problem-solving-based E-LKPD is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skill.

Abstract

Pemantauan maritim terpadu sangat krusial di tengah ancaman kerusakan ekosistem global akibat eksploitasi perairan secara ilegal. Literatur saat ini masih terfragmentasi pada pembahasan komponen teknologi secara terpisah sehingga menyisakan kesenjangan riset yang nyata dalam pemetaan holistik interaksi lintas disiplin antara domain komputasi, infrastruktur fisik, dan target ekologi dalam satu kerangka kerja fungsi ganda. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengisi celah tersebut dengan memetakan lanskap literatur global terkait penerapan strategi penggunaan ganda sonar pasif untuk deteksi penangkapan ikan ilegal dan pemantauan ekologi maritim. Desain penelitian memadukan analisis bibliometrik kuantitatif dan tinjauan literatur sistematis kualitatif. Sebanyak 217 dokumen final berhasil diekstraksi dari pangkalan data Scopus pada rentang publikasi tahun 2006 hingga 2026 dengan mengikuti protokol penyaringan ketat. Analisis data dieksekusi menggunakan perangkat lunak pemetaan visual untuk mengevaluasi jaringan kemunculan bersama kata kunci dan metrik performa objektif. Hasil analisis mengungkap lonjakan publikasi secara eksponensial semenjak tahun 2019 yang dipelopori oleh Tiongkok pada volume produksi dan Amerika Serikat pada dampak sitasi. Pemetaan topologi jaringan memunculkan tiga klaster tematik utama. Klaster pertama menyoroti integrasi arsitektur kecerdasan buatan untuk otomatisasi pelacakan armada kapal gelap. Klaster kedua berfokus pada peran diagnostik ekoakustik untuk mengukur tingkat stres mamalia laut dan degradasi terumbu karang. Klaster ketiga menegaskan posisi hidrofon resolusi tinggi sebagai fondasi perangkat keras penangkap sinyal presisi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini membuktikan konvergensi antara sensor akustik mutakhir dan algoritma komputasi cerdas sanggup menciptakan sistem pengawasan laut yang akurat dan bersahabat dengan lingkungan. Keberhasilan implementasi berskala global pada masa depan akan sangat bergantung pada optimalisasi komputasi tepi dan kolaborasi pembagian data lintas yurisdiksi perairan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an E-LKPD based on a problem-solving model to train students’ metacognitive skills in the topic of buffer solutions. The metacognitive skills targeted for development are planning, monitoring, and evaluating. The developed E-LKPD was assessed as feasible in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study adopted the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), but its application was limited to the development stage. The research results indicate the following: (1) The validity results obtained a mode of 4, classified as valid; (2) The average percentage of student responses and activities in sessions 1 and 2 were 95% and 97.75%, respectively, and the activity rates for sessions 1 and 2 were 97.75% and 98.33%, respectively, and were classified as very good; (3) The average N-gain score on the metacognitive skills test was 0.74, classified as high. Furthermore, the results of the paired t-test showed a significance value of 0.000; therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. From the results described above, it can be concluded that the developed E-LKPD is valid in training students’ metacognitive skills

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based STEM approach using Assemblr Edu media on students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes in the respiratory system curriculum. This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The study sample consisted of class XI-3 as the experimental group and class XI-4 as the control group at State Senior High School 5 Samarinda. Data collection techniques included achievement tests, observations of creative thinking skills, interviews, and documentation. The research instruments comprised pretest and posttest items, as well as an observation sheet for creative thinking skills covering the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, N-Gain tests, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a PBL-based STEM approach supported by Assemblr Edu is effective in improving students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes. The improvement in creative thinking skills is evident from the increase in scores on each indicator of student creativity throughout the learning process. Additionally, the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class were higher than those in the control class after the intervention was administered. The use of the Augmented Reality-based Assemblr Edu platform helps students visualize abstract concepts of the respiratory system, making learning more interactive, contextual and meaningful. Thus, a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based STEM approach supported by Assemblr Edu can serve as an innovative alternative in biology education to enhance students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Augmented Reality Card-based learning media on virus material and to determine the level of validity, practicality, and cognitive learning outcomes of students through a limited scale trial. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. The research subjects consisted of 34 grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Tibawa. The instruments used included a questionnaire validation sheet from media experts and material experts, a questionnaire response from teachers and students, and a learning outcome test in the form of a pretest and posttest. The results showed that the AR Card media obtained an average validation percentage of media experts of 95% and material experts of 93% with very feasible criteria. Teacher responses obtained a percentage of 95% and student responses of 81% with a very practical category. In addition, the results of the N-Gain analysis in a limited scale trial of 0.67 showed that the use of AR Card media was able to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in the moderate category. Thus, AR Card-based learning media was declared valid, practical, and used in biology learning on virus material.
