Abstract

The quality of learning can be improved by using digital learning media. This study aims to develop a Quizizz-based learning media for paragraph material for students. This research is a research and development (R & D) with the ADDIE model including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The stages in this study are design, development and implementation. The analysis stage is to analyze the needs of Quizizz-based learning media for paragraph material. The design stage is to create a Quizizz-based learning media product for paragraph material. The development stage is to compile questions that will be integrated with paragraph material in Quizizz-based learning media, conducting product validation with media experts, linguists, and material experts. The implementation stage is to apply Quizizz-based learning media for paragraph material to students during Indonesian Language lectures. The research subjects used students of the D3 mechanical engineering program at Sriwijaya State Polytechnic. The findings of this study are in the form of a product in the form of Quizizz-based learning media for paragraph material that is very valid and can be used for Indonesian Language lectures.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to write observation report texts in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 7 Bengkulu City. This study used a descriptive method with aquantitative approach. The population in this study were 211 students of class VIII B SMPNegeri 7 Bengkulu City. The sample in this study used purposive sampling, namely 14% ofthe total population, namely 30 students. The data collection technique used a test technique,namely students were given the task of writing an observation report text with a timeallocation of 60 minutes. The ability to write an observation report text was assessed from 3 aspects, namely, general definitions, part definitions, and conclusions. The data analysistechnique used in this study was simple statistics by calculating the average value. The results of this study indicate that the average value of the ability to write observation report texts in class VIII students of SMP Negeri Bengkulu City was 57.64 with a sufficient category. The average value of the ability to write observation report texts based on the general definition aspect is 15.85 with a sufficient category where students can write general descriptions but not in detail or completely only contain the definition of the object is not explained in more detail, the average ability to write observation report texts in students based on the definition aspect of the part is 25.85 with a sufficient category where students have written descriptions of parts but many students do not really describe the object specifically so that the description of the part is less in-depth, the average ability to write observation report texts in students based on the definition aspect of benefits/Conclusions is 15.92 with a sufficient category where students have written conclusions but students have not really understood what the conclusions are so that many conclusions made only repeat words in the general description and also do not match the objects observed. This study sees that students' writing abilities in observation report texts must be studied better so that students can really understand the structural parts in the observation report text.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write news texts of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Bengkulu City. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Bengkulu City, totaling 317 students and a sample of 30 students was taken using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection technique was in the form of a news text writing assignment test. The data analysis technique in this study used descriptive statistics with a mean calculation formula to obtain the average value of students' news text writing ability by combining the values of researcher 1 and researcher 2. The results of this study indicate that the average ability to write news texts of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Bengkulu City in general was 59.26 in the sufficient category. The results of the research on the ability to write news texts of class VII students of SMP Negeri 18 Bengkulu City specifically from several aspects, namely in the aspect of the suitability of the content with the title obtained an average value of 11.38 in the sufficient category, in the aspect of the news structure obtained an average value of 10.1 in the good category, in the aspect of news elements obtained an average value of 6.68 in the sufficient category, in the aspect of effective sentences obtained an average value of 10.89 in the sufficient category, in the aspect of word choice obtained an average value of 9.93 in the sufficient category, in the aspect of Indonesian spelling obtained an average value of 10.05 in the sufficient category. Suggestions for students, increase writing activities to increase vocabulary and learn about the General Guidelines for the Indonesian Language.
