Abstract

This study was to determine the effect of a combination of problem-based learning with team-assisted individualization, problem-based learning with think pair share, and cognitive style on learning outcomes. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design that uses a 2x2 factorial design. The research population was XI Mathematics and Natural Science (MIPA) students in SMAN 1 Kraksaan and XI Mathematics and Natural Science (MIPA) of SMAN 1 Paiton Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia, in 2022/2023. the samples were selected non-randomly, consisting of problem-based learning with team-assisted individualization (control) and PBL-TPS (experimental) groups. In both groups, given cognitive style test. The research instrument was 25 multiple-choice questions. Instrument validation is valid (0.89) and reliable (0.94). Posttest results were analyzed by two-way ANOVA test through SPSS v. 25. The study's results were; 1) There are differences in learning outcomes between problem-based learning with team-assisted individualization groups and problem-based learning with think pair share; 2) There are differences in learning outcomes between groups of cognitive style Field Dependent with cognitive style Field Independent; and 3) There is no interaction between learning models and cognitive styles on learning outcomes.

Abstract

Search, Solve, Create, and Share is a learning model that guides students to the process of solving problems. With this Search, Solve, Create, and Share learning model, students can train creative thinking skills to be able to expand or search for ideas independently. This study was conducted to see the difference in mastery of the concept of students who use the Search, Solve, Create, and Share learning model and conventional learning on global warming material. This study was designed with Posttest-Only Control Design. The samples used were class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class with an integrated Search, Solve, Create, and Share learning model Mind Mapping and XI IPA 2 as a control class with conventional learning. The results of the t-test show that there are differences in mastery of the concepts of students who apply the Search, Solve, Create, and Share learning model integrated with Mind Mapping with control classes that apply conventional learning.. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in mastery of the concepts of students who apply the Search, Solve, Create and Share learning model integrated with Mind Mapping with students who apply conventional learning, and mastery of the concepts of students who apply the Search, Solve, Create, and Share learning model better than the control class with conventional learning.

Abstract

The rapid advancements in the digital era present educational institutions with increasingly complex challenges in maintaining curriculum relevance to the demands of the modern world. Traditional curricula, which predominantly focus on academic aspects, are increasingly viewed as insufficient in equipping graduates with the competencies required to navigate real-world challenges. Graduates are expected not only to excel academically but also to demonstrate adaptability, problem-solving capabilities, and interpersonal skills. This study investigates the potential of a multidimensional strategy to enhance curriculum design by integrating key elements, such as digital competencies, quality of learning materials, effective technology utilization, and active stakeholder involvement. Utilizing qualitative methods, the research collected data through interviews with students, educators, educational managers, and technology developers to gather insights on best practices and the inherent challenges in curriculum innovation. The research findings indicate that the implementation of multidimensional strategies in curriculum development includes the integration of social and emotional skills, enhancement of learning material quality, utilization of technology in learning, cross-sectoral collaboration, and the development of practical skills.

Abstract

Modern teaching prioritizes student-centered learning, yet teacher-centered methods (TCM) still exist in many contexts, including Tanzanian colleges. This study investigates the factors that motivate the continued use of TCM in selected teacher training institutions in Tanzania. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 150 college teachers through structured questionnaires, analyzed with the Relative Importance Index (RII) to rank the motivational factors. The research findings reveal three main factors driving the use of TCM, which consist of teachers' belief in its effectiveness, poor student cooperation perception, and low student learning ability. Additional but less significant factors include class size, resource limitations, and standardized testing demands. This study concludes that deeply rooted teacher beliefs and contextual classroom challenges reinforce the use of TCM, despite policy changes advocating for student-centered methods. (LCM). This study recommends enhancing teacher training programs that focus on fostering student engagement and addressing student ability perceptions to align teaching practices with modern educational goals.
