Abstract

There frequently un-correspondences of word level, word unit, structure, and intra system in translation activities between those of the source language and those of the target language. This so-called shift of translation may also occur on the level of meaning, be it to the more specific meaning, to the more general meaning, or simply as the result of different nature between two languages. This phenomenon was also found by the researchers in the novel entitled “Para MujahidCinta” whichis the translated version from the Arabic of one of the most Egyptians best novelist Najīb Kīlānī, entitled Layālī Turkistān. The results of the research show that the translator, Shocheh Muhammad, employed such shift in his translation particularly in regards with the tarkīb iḍāfī, composite words with a solid meaning, to become reduced-adjective clause, reduced-adverb clause, or etcetera. Such changes in translation affirm that shifts may occur, not only by the need to deliver the meaning or message, but also –in a wider context- by the fact of different characteristics of languages. This is, to some extent, nothing to do with correspondence between two languages which is the basis of translation theories.

Abstract

Karya sastra merupakan produk masyarakat dalam bidang kebudayaan. Sastra merupakan saksi budaya yang dapat terus dikembangkan. Kehadiran sastra di tengah perkembangan teknologi merupakan tantangan besar, di mana sastra harus dapat memberi jalan inspirasi buat kehidupan yang nyata. Sastra harus dapat memberi jalan lurus bagi kemanusiaaan. Selain itu, sastra pun dapat memberi jalan bagi manusia untuk memperoleh konsep kehidupan karena sastra memberi dan menyodorkan karya yang bernilai yang tidak sedikit mengandung makna kebenaran. Tokoh Penyair Cinta dan Novelis asal Libanon, Khalil Gibran melahirkan banyak karya yang menorehkan banyak inspirasi begitu indah bagi para pembacanya di seluruh belahan dunia. Bahasa nya yang indah dan pilihan diksi yag kuat pada novel dan puisinya benyak diteliti oleh peminat sastra, salah satunya novel al-Ajihah al-Mutakassiroh, yang di dalam nya terdapat banyak bahasa-bahasa bersayap yang dapat ditelisik secara semiotik dan bahasa figurative atau majaz isti’arah dalam pendekatan Stilistika Balaghiyah.

Abstract

This paper aims to compare “Malaikat” representations in the novel "Naib Izrail" (NI) by Yusuf As-Siba'i and "Kau Memanggilku Malaikat" (KMM) by Arswendo Atmowiloto. To parse the representation, this research uses a descriptive-interpretative method with Roland Barthes's five-code theory. Barthes's narrative theory is a theory that is close to the tradition of post-structuralism that is a theory that does not have an orientation towards a single meaning but instead aims to bring up a plurality of meanings. The results of this study show that there are manifestations of five codes from angelic representations in both novels. In addition, reading the representation of angels with the theory of five codes also shows a more meaningful meaning, namely by presenting a plurality of meanings by accommodating various dimensions in narrative analysis.

Abstract

Arabic words are distinguished from each other by their three forms:1) ism, noun, which consists of definite and undefinite noun; 2) fiʻl,verb that consists of: a) fiʻl mâdhî: past form, fiʻl mudhâriʻ: presentand future form, fiʻl amr: imperative form, b) mutaʻaddî and lâzim:respectively transitive and intransitive verb; and 3) harf, particle. Thisarticle focuses on the transitive and intransitive verbs of Arabic.

Abstract

Language and mind are firmly related to each other. The mind can not be separated from language, since language is expressions of minds. Without language, one can not be able to convey things in his/her minds and they are never be able to be understood by the others. Thus, language is the way to grasp one’s thought. This article deals with the relationship between Mind Map and the structure of brain, how it works, and what to do with language and thinking. From concept of mind map and how it works, it can be seen how it employs brain and even works by nature in line with it. In this way, Mind Map tries to optimize the functions of brain.

Abstract

This reaserch is discuss about forms of the Broken Plural along with the translation contained in “Al-Qur’anul Karim Bacaan Mulia”, written by Indosesian writer he is H.B Jassin who has translated Al-Qur’an by poetic language. The restricting the problem of this reaserch are the only forms of the Broken Plural in Letter of Al-Noor. In this study, the researcher used the qualitive method of library study. Qualitive method are research methods that produce descriptive data in the form of written words, from books relating to research problems. Using the theory of morphologi to determinate the patterns of the Broken Plural in the object of studies. As for the results, found 31 of Broken Plurals by denying some of the same words. There are 14 words of Lesser Broken Plural in Letter of Al-Noor with three patterns, which are اَفعُل، افعِلة ، افعال. There are 14 words of Greater Broken Plural with six patterns, which are فعلاء، فعول، فعال، فِعْلان، فَعلى، وفعُل, and 3 words of Ultimate Plural (Ṣīgah Muntaha al-Jumu‘) which are: ف واعل، فعاليل، مفاعل.Then the suitability of H.B Jassin in translating the Broken Plural in his creation, it’s “Al-Qur’anul Karim Bacaan Mulia”.

Abstract

الغريب فى اللغة مشتق من كلمة غرَب بفتح الراء وغرِب بكسرها، بمعنى بعد وتباعد واسودّ. فيفهم منها الغريب فى الكلام هو الغامض والبعيد عن الفهم. أما فى الاصطلاح فاختلف العلماء فى تعريفه، منهم العلماء القدامى والمحدثون. من العلماء القدامى هم اللغويون والأدباء والبلاغيون والمعانيون. رأى اللغويون أن الغريب لفظ يبهم معناه يستخدمه الفصحاء فى الكلام وأهل اللغة. والأدباء قالوا إن الغريب لفظ يبهم معناه ولا يفهمه فرد خاص أو من علم وأتقن فى اللغة. وذهب البلاغيون إلى أن الغريب هو الاستعارة والمجاز ولا غير. واختلف منهم المعانيون بقولهم إن الغريب ما يبهم معناه ولا غالب استعماله إما عند العرب الخالصين وإما العرب المحدثين فى الزمن الحاضر. أما العلماء المحدثون رأوا أن الغريب فى اللغة لفظ خرج من الاستخدام الغالب والمعنى المقصود. فالغريب إذن ظاهرة طبيعية لغوية نجده فى شتى النواحى من اللغة العربية، فنجدها فى اللغة العربية القديمة ونجدها أيضا فى اللغة العربية الحديثة، مثل القرآن والحديث والعربية المعاصرة. وبالرغم من أن وجود الغريب فى القرآن شيئ مختلف إلا أنه ظاهر فيه بمعناه العام، حيث لا يفهم بعض الصحابة معانى الكلمات فى الآيات القرآنية. وكذلك فى الأحاديث النبوية لقد أتت كلمات غريبة كثيرة تساءل الصحابة فيما بينهم واختلفوا فيها. إذا كانت ألفاظ غريبة طرأت فى القرآن والحديث فالجدير أنها مترددة فى اللغة العربية المعاصرة كما نراها فى يومنا الحاضر.

Abstract

يهدف هذا البحث إلى بيان فن البديع في البلاغة العربية، من تعريفه اللغوي، والاصطلاحي، ونشأته، وتطوره، وأنواعه المتعددة، وأهم رجالاته عبر القرون المتعاقبة. والمنهج المتبع في معالجة هذا الموضوع هو المنهج الوصفي، حيث تقوم الدراسة بوصف ما هو كائن في كتب البلاغة وأدبيات اللغة العربية المتعلقة بموضوع الدراسة. إن كلمة (بديع) جاءت بمعان عدة، منها: بمعنى الإنشاء، والجدة، والابتداء، والمسرة، والإعجاب، والطيب. فالإبداع هو إنشاء الشيء الجديد ابتداء، لأنه لم يسبق له مثيل، ويستدعي إعجاب الناظر إليه، ويؤدي إلى الإحساس بالمسرة لذلك الشيء الجديد الطيب. والكلام البديع هو الكلام الجديد الذي لم يسبق له مثيل، ويستدعي إعجاب السامع له، ويحرك نفسه، ومشاعره، وأحاسيسه، ويتجاوب مع مضمونه. وأما علم البديع فهو: علم يعرف به وجوه تحسينات الكلام، بعد رعاية مطابقته لمقتضى الحال، ووضوح الدلالة. يتطور علم البديع مثل غيره من العلوم. وكانت بداية إرهاصاته في القرن الثالث الهجري على يد مسلم ابن الوليد، حيث أشار إلى بعض مصطلحاته، في كتاباته الأدبية، كالجناس، والطباق، وغيرهما. ثم جاء بعده ابن المعتز، حيث إنه يعتبر أول من وضع أسس هذا العلم ومصطلحاته، حتى إنه ألف كتابا سماه (البديع) سنة 274هـ.

Abstract

When the Arabs set grammar, the Syriac linguists preceded them several centuries in establishing rules towards them. Perhaps one issue is the one taken by the Arab linguists on Syriac, but the issue of dividing the word into three sections only: name, action, and character. The advanced Arab grammarians handed over this issue from the first day, and do not argue with it. Those who denied this issue and corrected the mistake are the modern European linguists who began to set rules for their languages ​​after the Arabs for hundreds of years. For example, in French, divide the word into nine sections. The researcher tries to present this research from three centuries and is the advanced and the late and contemporaries. The researcher begins with the concept of the word and then divides it into the Arabic linguists.

Abstract

Language, as Chomsky explains, is the representation of one’s thoughts. It is his/her expressions and psychological responses to the surrounding milieus. Thus, studying religious typology from the perspectives of language is scientifically made possible. This article studies the moderate mainstream of Nahdhatul Ulama (NU), one of Indonesia’s Islamic organizations, from the Arabic words used in Bahtsul Masa’il, the corpus of study series held by elite members of the organization in responding to contemporary issues. There are so many Arabic loan words in the book of Bahtsul Matsail. Most of them are related to aspects of believe and jurisprudence, including terms on rituals for the death. Even though the Arabic words have their corresponding words in Indonesian language, this explains –among which- that Arabic loan words sound more associated to Islamic spirits. Nevertheless, the absence of terms in connotation to political Islam could strongly indicate that the organization, as like Muhammadiyah- does not have any missions to establish Islamic state. Republic of Indonesia with Five Principles of the state, according to NU is final with no need to change it with any other ideology.
