Abstract

Balinese traditional clothing is an essential element representing the Balinese’s cultural identity. More than just a body covering, these clothes are filled with ethical, aesthetic, and spiritual values that reflect the teachings of Hinduism. This research aimed to reveal the meaning and value behind the use of traditional clothing in religious ceremonies, especially among Balinese women. The research used a qualitative method with a direct observation approach to indigenous people. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that traditional clothing is not only a symbol of respect for ancestors but also a symbol of purity, dignity, and respect for the gods. Balinese women adhere to a dress code emphasizing modesty, neatness, and color selection according to religious symbolism. In addition to showing physical beauty, traditional clothing reflects adherence and loyalty to Balinese Hindu teachings. Furthermore, traditional clothing plays a role in maintaining social harmony in indigenous communities. Each element of clothing has symbolism that reflects the relationship between humans, nature, and the gods. In conclusion, traditional Balinese clothing serves as a spiritual expression and a medium for preserving traditions and strengthening social relationships. Balinese women’s dress code in the traditional context reflects the harmonious balance between spirituality, tradition, and social interaction in Balinese life.

Abstract

The project-based learning model is one of the strategies used to increase student engagement and motivation, especially in supporting the development of character education. However, in its application, project learning faces challenges such as taking a long time, causing students to feel bored, and not all students are fully and evenly active in the learning process. This has an impact on the non-achievement of learning objectives in the development of character education. This study aims to identify the factors needed to improve the quality of project learning implementation for character education development. The strategy analysis used in the study uses external as well as internal factors analysis with SWOT and AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). The method used in this study is a mixed method with an exploratory sequential design, which collects data qualitatively, namely through interviews and observations, which are then followed by quantitative analysis by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results show that internal factors, namely innovative and digitalized school management, are the main strengths in implementing project learning for character education development. On the other hand, external factors show significant opportunities for driving schools to support this learning while considering external threats. The top priority strategy recommended in character education development is to utilize technology for innovative learning that increases student engagement. This strategy aims to provide space for students to make progress in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The main focus in project learning is to ensure students are actively engaged, so an innovative, technology-based approach is needed that allows students to explore, think critically and develop themselves.

Abstract

Most of the fourthgrade students at SDS Muhammadiyah Duri experienced difficulty in improving their test scores and assignments. One factor that is thought to influence this is the lack of use of learning media by teachers in the learning process. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effect of using interactive learning media on student learning achievement. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods and a one-shot case study design, where the effects of using learning media are tested after one treatment. The research population included all 98 class IV students, while the sample was determined randomly using random sampling techniques, resulting in 24 students from class IV A as research subjects. Data were analyzed using the paired sample t-test statistical test to see differences in student achievement before and after treatment. The research results show that the use of interactive learning media has a significant influence on increasing student learning achievement, with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) < 0.000, which is smaller than the significance limit of 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that interactive learning media effectively helps improve student achievement, showing a strong relationship between its use and learning outcomes. This research provides empirical evidence about the importance of innovation in teaching methods to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia has faced various challenges, particularly at the elementary school level. This study specifically aims to identify and describe the obstacles faced by teachers in designing learning plans and assessments that align with the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive, involving two teachers from a public elementary school in Purwakarta Regency, West Java. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and analysis of learning plan and assessment documents. The results showed that, in the context of learning planning, teachers have made efforts to understand the learning outcomes and design learning plans. However, there are several obstacles faced, such as the absence of learning outcomes for local content subjects, limited teacher understanding in the context of learning planning, and lack of time to complete teaching modules and learning goal pathways due to the demands of additional tasks. Meanwhile, in the context of assessment planning, teachers tend to rely on existing sources, both from teaching modules and textbooks. These findings indicate that although teachers have made efforts to design learning and assessment plans, there are still gaps in understanding and practice. This indicates the need for more intensive support for teachers in terms of capacity development, especially in designing learning plans and assessments that meet the needs of students.
