Abstract

The interpretation of heavenly pleasures is often seen as gender biased. Some pleasures of paradise are understood to be exclusive to one gender. However, gender is not a condition for entering paradise; such interpretations are about the heavenly maidens. This study aims to explore the descriptions of heavenly maidens in the Koran and analyze Sayyid Qutb’s understanding of the Quranic verses about the heavenly maidens. The research uses a qualitative method with descriptive-analytical data analysis techniques. The findings of this study reveal that the Quran describes the physical characteristics of the heavenly maidens with the word “ḥūr” paired with “’īn,” found in Surah Ad-Dukhan verse 54, Surah At-Tur verse 20, and Surah Al- Waqi'ah verse 22. At other times, the Quran uses the more general term “azwāj” (spouses) to describe the heavenly maidens. This word is mentioned 4 times, in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 25, Surah Ali ‘Imran verse 15, Surah An-Nisa verse 57, and Surah Yasin verse 56. Furthermore, in interpreting the heavenly maidens in the Koran, according to Sayyid Qutb, the expression “heavenly maidens” needs to be understood as an indication of their existence. According to Qutb, the word “ḥūr” refers to women with fair skin, and large eyes with white and black color complementing each other. As for the phrase “qāṣirāt al-Ṭarf atrāb,” it is interpreted as the women of paradise praised by Allah for their loyalty, always lowering their gaze and never looking away except towards their spouses. The term “azwāj muṭahharah” according to Qutb signifies the state of women being devoid of the negative qualities possessed by women in worldly life.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of student participation in Rohis activities because there are some students who have limited knowledge about the Qur'an, not only in reading skills, but also in memorisation, and understanding the content. Rohis (Rohani Islam) is a platform that facilitates the development of students' knowledge and understanding of Islamic teachings, especially the Qur'an, through various activity programmes. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Rohis programme at SMAN 1 Medang Deras helps students understand the Qur'an better. Through descriptive qualitative approach, this research observed various Rohis activities, including tafsir study, tahfizh and Islamic discussion. Data were collected through observation techniques and in-depth interviews with Rohis students, as well as document analysis. The results showed that activities such as tafsir discussions, memorising verses, and active participation in positive groups deepen students' understanding of the Qur'an. In addition, students' active participation in Rohis also plays a role in strengthening their spiritual and moral values. This can be seen from the students' significant improvement in their ability to understand, memorise, and apply the teachings of the Qur'an after joining Rohis. It can be concluded that the Rohis programme succeeded in creating a conducive environment for the improvement of understanding of the Qur'an and the formation of students' religious character at SMAN 1 Medang Deras. It is hoped that the Rohis programme at SMAN 1 Medang Deras will continue to be expanded and enriched with various activities that support the understanding and practice of the Qur'an for students as a whole.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education students as future religious educators need to realize the importance of limiting the content shared on social media to maintain integrity and ethics in accordance with Islamic values. This is to keep activities on social media reasonable and not contradict their role as role models in society. This study aims to describe the motives of flexing culture of Islamic Education students at IAIN Palangka Raya on social media and find out how the phenomenon of flexing culture on social media of Islamic Education students according to the perspective of the Islamic Education crisis. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach using descriptive data. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of interviews and documentation, which are analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the main motive of Islamic Religious Education students class 2020 class A semester 8 IAIN Palangka Raya behind this flexing culture is from internal encouragement, the phenomenon of flexing culture among Islamic Education students has two different sides in the context of the Islamic Education crisis. On the one hand, sharing academic achievements and positive activities can motivate and build a good self-image. However, if done with the intention to boast, this can reduce the quality of Islamic education and obscure religious values. There needs to be a higher awareness among Islamic Education students regarding the wise use of social media in order to avoid the potential for irritation, feelings of inferiority, and the development of negative perceptions among the community.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to understand and analyse the symbolic meaning of the ornaments in the Mahabharata Maitreya Temple as well as the role of these ornements in conveying the teachings and values of Buddhism. Maha Vihara Maitreya is located in the city of Medan, Indonesia. It is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Indonesia and has a variety of architectural and decorative elements that are rich in symbolic significance. Maha Vihara Maitreya also adopted many of the characteristic elements of China in every detail of the building and its ornaments. The research uses a qualitative approach with case study methods that include field observations, in-depth interviews with one of Vihara's managers and related literature analysis. The results showed that every element in the Majesty Maitreya, from the architecture of the building to the ornaments on the sculpture, had a profound symbolic significance and served as a medium for the transmission of Buddhist teachings to its followers. In addition, the temple also played an important role in strengthening the Buddhist identity of the field and its surroundings, as well as becoming a centre of religious and cultural activity. This research has made important contributions to the understanding of symbolism in Buddhist religious architecture and its implications for religious practice and identity of communities, in the city of Medan, North Sumatra.

Abstract

Islamic counseling techniques are a continuous, systematic, and purposeful process to help everyone optimize their potential or fitrah by incorporating the values of the Qur'an and Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad in each person. This research aims to explore Islamic counseling techniques in overcoming child delinquency at Putra Muhammadiyah Orphanage in Medan City. This research conducts qualitative research, which interviews, observation, documentation. Furthermore, related to the data sources used by researchers in this study. this data source consists of two parts. primary data sources, secondary data sources. To overcome Child delinquency, caregivers make efforts as follows: teaching religious principles to children and providing guidance, because the hope is that the more they know about religion, the better their behavior will be. Children in orphanages are required to pray and memorize juz 30 or memorize prayers. The management of the Putra Muhammadiyah Medan Orphanage held a recitation and from the results of the research, the conclusion that the concept of Islamic teachings in the context of child education at the Putra Muhammadiyah Medan Orphanage. That each individual has a certain stage of development, and their learning process is influenced by this stage. Discussing the role of Islam as a teaching method, which states that humans are good teachers, but also have passions, guidelines that guide them towards a better future.

Abstract

Human life is faced with behavioral problems, where humans must weigh, sort, and decide to choose these actions, and not conflict with the norms or rules that have been agreed upon and determined together by consensus. In the context of living together and socializing, self-control is very important. A person must have the ability to control himself consciously, so as to produce good behavior, not harming others, and in accordance with norms or rules, which is often referred to as “self control”. This article aims to discuss and analyze the teachings of ethics, especially morality and self-control contained in the lontar Wrhaspati Tattwa. The method used in this paper is qualitative, which focuses more on the process and meaning that is studied thoroughly, statically, and concretely in accordance with Hindu ethics and morals. This study is classified as library research which takes the main source through books, libraries, palm texts, and the internet. The results of this study are 1) Sadangga Yoga in Wrhaspati Tattwa consists of Pratyaharayoga, Dhyanayoga, Tarkayoga, Pranayamayoga, Dharanayoga, and Samadhiyoga. 2) In Wrhaspati Tattwa, morality and self-control are characterized by the Triguna nature which is part of the citta, which determines whether human life will experience good or bad. There are two factors that influence self-control and morality, namely age, which is an internal factor, and the environment, which is an external factor, both family and society. Self-control directs behavior to produce positive consequences. In conclusion, Wrhaspati Tattwa teaches that one must control the mind and heart to achieve a harmonious life.

Abstract

Education must adapt to the needs of each era, one of which is an education system that can encourage adaptation to change and become lifelong learners. Hindu Religious Education is one of the media to transform divine and humanitarian values ​​in social, national, and state life which is developed to create an advanced generation in various sectors of life. Vidya Karuna School uses the merdeka belajar policy reference as a direction for future learning that provides opportunities for teachers and students to think freely, innovate freely, and learn independently and creatively to achieve the learning objectives of Hindu Religious Education and Character Education. The purpose of this study was to determine how the implementation, obstacles and efforts, and implications of the merdeka belajar policy are in the subjects of Hindu Religious Education and Character Education. The data collection methods used in this study were observation, interviews, and literature studies. The data that had been collected were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis method with steps of reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and presenting the results of data analysis. Based on the overall data obtained, it can be seen that in implementing the merdeka belajar policy in Hindu Religion and Character Education, there are several stages, namely the process, implementation, and evaluation. To implement the merdeka belajar policy in the subjects of Hindu Religion and Character Education at Vidya Karuna School, teachers use several methods and strategies in learning that are adjusted to the stage of child development at each phase. The goal is to make Hindu Religion learning more effective, and interesting, and can create a pleasant learning atmosphere. In the implementation of the merdeka belajar policy, there are also several obstacles consisting of internal and external obstacles. The implications of the merdeka belajar policy in the subjects of Hindu Religion and Character Education at Vidya Karuna School are implemented using the 4C approach, developing innovative learning models.

Abstract

Dana punia is a sacred activity as one of the implementations of the teachings of dharma. The purpose of this study is to determine the management system of Punia Funds through the development of pasraman education and empowerment of the people's economy carried out by BDDPRU and to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors for the development of Punia Funds for pasraman education and empowerment of the people's economy carried out by BDDPRU. With that, it will be possible to obtain a maximum fund management system by pasraman. In addition, this study is able to encourage and empower Hindus in the future. This research method is Qualitative and uses studies in accordance with Humanistic theory and the theory of Motivation to do business in the management of Dharma Dana. One of the supporting factors for BDDPRU is the existence of permanent punia funders, this supporting factor can provide a strong solution in the process of managing punia funds through the development of pasraman education and empowerment of the people's economy. One of the inhibiting factors is the lack of adequate facilities and infrastructure. In conclusion, the BDDPRU Punia Fund management system has used POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating and Controlling) management but has not been maximized.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are religious educational institutions that have an important role in shaping the character and morals of Indonesian society. However, in recent years, the rising cost of education has become one of the main challenges that hinder access for students, especially for underprivileged families. This study aims to analyze the impact of rising education costs on student access in Islamic boarding schools and identify solutions to overcome these problems. This study uses a qualitative approach with an analytical descriptive method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with Islamic boarding school leaders, ustaz, students, and parents of students, as well as direct observation at several Islamic boarding schools. Documentation studies are also carried out to obtain information about cost management policies and programs run by pesantren. The results of the study show that the increase in operational costs of Islamic boarding schools, especially for infrastructure and modernization of education, is the main factor affecting the increase in education costs. In addition, family economic factors, the shift in social values from spiritualism to materialism, and the lack of government support have also worsened students' access to Islamic boarding schools. However, Islamic boarding schools are trying to find solutions by implementing zakat and infaq-based scholarship programs, as well as collaborating with philanthropic institutions. Some Islamic boarding schools also develop independent business units to support operations without burdening students. This study concludes that efficient management of education costs and innovation in education programs are essential to keep pesantren inclusive. Thus, pesantren can continue to be a pillar in da'wah and affordable Islamic education, as well as support the development of a better society.

Abstract

Strategic communication has a central role in optimizing the mission of da'wah, especially in the context of a company that focuses on spreading Islamic values. Efforts to improve the performance of da'wah companies require a more systematic and directed approach. One approach that can be used is the use of DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness) personality theory, an effective personality measurement tool to understand individual and team characteristics. This research aims to identify how strategic communication in da'wah can be strengthened through the application of DISC theory, both in internal and external communication of the company. The research method used is a qualitative approach with literature study and secondary data analysis. The results of the study show that the implementation of DISC helps companies understand various personality types, thus allowing for a more personalized, relevant, and effective delivery of da'wah messages. In internal communication, DISC facilitates harmonious team collaboration by recognizing individual strengths and challenges. Meanwhile, in external communication, DISC allows companies to develop communication strategies that suit the target audience based on their personality type. The conclusion of this study confirms that the application of DISC personality theory in strategic communication supports da'wah companies to achieve more optimal results, both in terms of internal management and expansion of da'wah influence. Thus, DISC has become a strategic tool for da'wah companies to increase the effectiveness of communication, expand the reach of messages, and strengthen the mission of da'wah in various circles of society.
