Abstract

Education is actually a process of inheriting a culture from one generation to the next. Education is defined as the process of changing the attitudes and behavior of a person or group of people in an effort to mature through teaching and training efforts. However, the world of education in Indonesia is not devoid of criticism and rebuke. In addition to the implementation of the education curriculum policy which is still complicated, the high cost of education to the poor quality of Indonesia is still the talk of all Indonesian citizens. But it cannot be denied that the development of digital technology also has a negative impact on the world of education. Excessive use of information technology has proven to have a negative impact on conceptual thinking skills. In response to the above, the author has an assumption that it can be overcome with the concept of Tri Hita Karana. The method used is qualitative research method, which is a type of research that examines and can describe complex and concrete social realities. The application of Tri Hita Karana teachings in the Baris Tengklong tradition at Badung Mine Temple, Pemucutan Village, West Denpasar is a cultural practice that illustrates the harmony and balance between three important aspects of Balinese life, namely human relations with God, human relations with each other, and human relations with nature. Thus, the application of the Tri Hita Karana teachings in the Baris Tengklong tradition at the Badung Mine Temple in Pemucutan Village, West Denpasar, is a clear example of how Balinese culture integrates spiritual, social, and ecological principles to create balance and harmony in their daily lives. This ceremony is a concrete manifestation of Balinese people's lives that pay great attention to harmony in relationships with God, fellow humans, and the surrounding nature. Overall, the application of Tri Hita Karana teachings in the Baris Tengklong tradition at Badung Mine Temple, Pemucutan Village, West Denpasar is a concrete example of how these teachings are still very relevant and alive in the daily lives of Balinese people. It is a manifestation of the way Balinese people try to maintain balance and harmony with nature, gods, and fellow humans in an effort to achieve happiness and prosperity together.

Abstract

This research purposes to develop a strategy for human resource development in the tourism sector through community participation. This research applied a qualitative approach with a purposive sampling method to select informants, including officials from the Tourism, Youth and Sports Office, the Human Resources Staffing and Development Agency, and community members, who have an important role in advancing tourism in the region. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while analysis used triangulation of sources, methods, and time, supported by NVivo 12 Plus software. The results showed that tourism in Bulukumba plays an important role in improving the local and regional economy while facilitating knowledge exchange between tourists and local communities. However, sustainability issues underline the importance of improving human resources, especially in managing the tourism space. The government's strategy in this regard emphasizes inclusivity and active community participation. The involvement of various stakeholders, including community groups such as Pokdarwis (Kelompok Sadar Wisata), marks a collaborative effort to sustain and improve tourism in Bulukumba Regency.

Abstract

English is an international language familiar to everyone, relating to various social aspects. It can be found and easily seen or read in public spaces, such as on billboards or banners, and business names, such as shops, hotels, restaurants, transportation, and others. English is used in varied lingual forms and even the possibility of writing and grammatical errors. This research deals with the written English on outdoor signs in Kupang City, focusing on language errors and their causing factors. This research applied a qualitative analysis to explore the type of language errors found in written English in the outdoor signs, the outdoor signs that contain written English language errors, and the factors that cause language errors. The data for this study are the outdoor signs in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia that contain language errors in written English. All data are collected using photographic techniques using a digital camera. The next step is to transcribe the written English containing language errors and analyze the data qualitatively. The result of the study shows that the main errors are due to the spelling system, namely, deleting a sound and replacing the English sound with Indonesian. The analysis of the language errors also revealed that they are caused by English language competence and supported by the interference of the author or sign producers’ first language. This study may contribute significantly, especially for language learners, since English on outdoor signs can be used as authentic material for learning and English teaching and learning in schools.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and technological advancement, the role of students as agents of change in society is increasingly recognized, especially through entrepreneurship and the importance of effective communication in the business world. This study aims to explore the motives and meaning of communication of students as young entrepreneurs. The focus of the research includes a discussion of the communication motives of students to become young entrepreneurs, as well as an understanding of the meaning of self, self-concept as a young entrepreneur, and the meaning of student communication as a young entrepreneur. The research method used is to use qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach with an interpretive paradigm. The results showed that the communication motives of students to become young entrepreneurs are based on two motives, namely because of motive (environmental motive, business potential motive, family economic conditions and limitations motive, hobby and passion motive) and in order to motive (motive to want to live independently and motive to get their own income). The self-meaning of students as young entrepreneurs is self-esteem and has a positive self-concept. This positive self-concept produces a multiplier effect. Students as young entrepreneurs interpret communication not only as a tool to convey information, but as a key element that forms the foundation of their business success, especially in establishing and developing a business.

Abstract

General elections are at the core of a democratic system involving the participation of every citizen. However, people with disabilities often face challenges in accessing and exercising their political rights. This article explores the legal framework governing and protecting the political rights of people with disabilities in the context of general elections in Indonesia. By analyzing laws, regulations, and implementation practices, this research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the legal protection afforded to people with disabilities in the electoral process. This study is of a normative legal research type. The legal materials used in this research consist of three sources: primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The data collection techniques used include a statutory approach, conceptual approach, document study, and quotation cards. The results classify the forms of legal protection for the political rights of people with disabilities into two categories: (a) Legal protection of the rights of people with disabilities in the form of Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning People with Disabilities, Regional Regulation of Bali Province Number 9 of 2015, and Regional Regulation of East Nusa Tenggara Province Number 6 of 2022; and (b) Legal protection of the rights of people with disabilities in the form of special facilities provision for people with disabilities in participating in presidential elections. The legal protection of the political rights of people with disabilities in general elections in Indonesia requires a holistic and sustainable approach. Therefore, the participation of all stakeholders, including the government, civil society organizations, and the private sector, is needed.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate how job insecurity and workload, both individually and in combination, affected employee work stress at LA Hotel Seminyak during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data for this research were collected through various methods, including observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. A total of 36 respondents participated in the study, and a saturated sampling technique was used. The data analysis involved classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and the determination of the coefficient of determination. The findings of this study revealed that job insecurity, when considered individually, had a positive and statistically significant impact on employee work stress. Similarly, workload, when examined in isolation, also had a positive and significant effect on employee work stress. When both job insecurity and workload were considered together, they collectively had a significant influence on employee work stress. The coefficient of determination test indicated that job insecurity and workload together accounted for 66.0% of the variance in work stress, while the remaining 34.0% was attributed to other variables not addressed in this study.

Abstract

Digital-based marketing, especially through endorsement activities with influencers, has become a significant phenomenon in women's fashion online businesses. Businesses are competing to find innovations in promotion to increase their business. Endorsement, as a form of collaboration between businesses and influencers, plays an important role in achieving this goal. This research aims to explore and analyze the meaning and motives behind their decision to use endorsements. This research uses a a phenomenological approach to obtain a clear picture and information about the meaning and motives of endorsement by conducting in-depth interviews and observations to collect data from business people including Cekhas.id, Kirei Outfit, Deenay, Damakara, and Otashawl. The results showed that the meaning of endorsement is manifested in the formation of brand identity. The business actors interpreted the endorsement because of the experiences felt and experienced while doing endorsement activities for a long period of time. The endorsement motives are divided into two main categories, namely first, "because motive" which includes competition in the business world and the popularity of influencers as the main factors, and second, "in order to motive" which includes efforts to increase brand awareness and achieve increased sales.

Abstract

The urgency of this research pertains to the political feasibility of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 30/2021 regarding the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) in the University Environment due to the emergency situation of sexual violence on campus. This study not only highlights the extent to which the policy is acceptable to decision-makers and the general public but also underscores the importance of ensuring that any enacted policy has strong political support and does not generate controversy. The research methodology involves detailed analysis of existing regulations, gathering readings from books, academic journals, electronic media news, and conducting interviews with various stakeholders to gather their views on the political feasibility of the regulation. The findings indicate that the enactment of the regulation initially elicited diverse reactions from the public, with clear pros and cons. From different perspectives, particularly concerning various interests, the public voiced protests and controversies regarding the implications and impacts of the regulation. While supporters perceive it as a positive step in providing protection for the entire university community, with expected preventive measures and effective handling of sexual harassment cases, opponents view it as potentially promoting adultery and LGBT issues, especially from a religious standpoint. Nonetheless, it is crucial for the public to regard this regulation as a formal public policy, established based on an understanding and handling of societal issues.

Abstract

Primiparous mothers, women who are giving birth for the first time, face challenges in adapting to a new postpartum role as a mother. Due to the pressure they are under, they are more likely to suffer from psychological issues including anxiety and depression. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how maternal self-efficacy affects mindfulness and postpartum depression in primiparous mothers. This study utilized a correlational quantitative approach with 295 primiparous mothers ranging in age from 20 to 42 years. The Dinni-Difa Postpartum Scale (DDPS) from Ardiyanti and Dinni (2018), Tarumanagara Five Aspect Care Survey (TFFMQ) developed by Baer et al . (2006) and Perceived Maternal Parental Self-Efficacy (PMP S-E) from Barnes and Adamson-Macedo's (2007) were used to collect data on postpartum depression (PPD), mindfulness, and maternal self-efficacy (MSE) in primiparous mothers. When analyzing the data, the Pearson product moment correlation test was combined with the PROCESS by Hayes for SPSS regression test for hypothesis testing. According to the analysis's findings, PPD is predicted by mindfulness, therefore with a lower risk of mothers experiencing PPD associated with higher levels of mindfulness. Mindfulness also significantly predicts MSE. However, MSE has not been demonstrated to serve as a mediator in the relationship between mindfulness and postpartum depression in primiparous women (ab = 0.016, BootLLCI = -0.011, BootULCI = 0.032).

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the use of YouTube as a medium to improve services and disseminate information. By focusing on relevant literature, this research tries to understand how YouTube has become an effective platform in expanding the reach of information and improving the quality of services provided. The literature study method was used to collect and analyze various articles, books and other sources related to the use of YouTube in the context of providing information. Research findings show that YouTube has become one of the main tools in disseminating information widely and enabling service providers to interact directly with their audiences. The analysis also reveals that the use of YouTube in improving services can include various strategies, such as tutorials, vlogs, webinars and other interactive content. Additionally, this research highlights the importance of understanding audience characteristics and trends in YouTube usage to present relevant and engaging information. In this context, this research provides valuable insights for practitioners and researchers to understand the full potential of YouTube as a medium for improving services and disseminating information. The practical and theoretical implications of these findings are discussed, as well as directions for further research in exploring the role of YouTube in the context of information communication and public services.
