Abstract

Background: Screening tests for infectious infections through blood transfusion (IMLTD) are one of the blood safeguards carried out at the Blood Transfusion Unit. Hepatitis B is one of the infectious diseases that must be examined. Objective: It aims to evaluate IMLTD, identify the types of donors that show reactive hepatitis B based on new donors and routine donors, identify causes based on input, process, output whether true or false reactive, and counseling reactive donors. Methods: Descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Population is 49,379 donors in 2019 (0.0052%), sample is 256 donors. Primary and secondary data were taken at UTD PMI Malang City then a questionnaire was made and an evaluation was carried out. Results: Evaluation of reactive hepatitis B screening tests based on the evaluation of the number of blood donors with reactive hepatitis B obtained the types of donors, namely new donors (55%) and routine donors (44%). Evaluation based on input and output obtained donor blood samples according to the required criteria (100%). Evaluation process for officers, methods, reagents, and room conditions with good results (100%), while the suitability of the tools (97.23%). Hepatitis B reactive donors who did counseling (17.2%). Conclusion: UTD PMI Malang City which has been certified CPOB BPOM RI can maintain the quality and consistency of the quality of blood services, especially in the hepatitis B reactive donor counseling service. Evaluation results of hepatitis B filter test are true reactive and consistency is needed in maintaining quality policy is needed for donor counseling.

Abstract

Background: Hemodialysis (HD) is one of the procedures to replace the excretion function due to kidney failure. The successful management of hemodialysis is very important to improve the quality of life. There was a relationship between various factors with the quality of life, including hemoglobin levels, age, sex, duration of hemodialysis and Interdialitic Weight Gain (IDWG). Objective: The purpose of the research is to determine factors correlated to the quality of life in hemodialysis patients. Methods: This is quantitative research. The Sixty-five patients on hemodialysis were randomly selected in the hemodialysis unit. Samples will be interviewed with a quallity of life questionnaire for hemodialysis. Statistical analysis with univariat and Spearman correlation. Results: Based on the Spearman correlation test showed that statistically, there was a significant correlation between age and quality of life: Mental Component (MC) with p-value of 0.017 <0.05, duration of undergoing hemodialysis with quality of life: Physical Component (PC) with p-value 0.034 <0.05, and IDWG with quality of life: Effect of Kidney Disease (EKD) with p-value 0.004 <0.05. Conclusion: It is assumed that age, duration of hemodialysis, and IDWG are related to the quality of life among hemodialysis patients. Based on the result, it is suggested for nurses to educate about hemodialysis.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is a tropical country that is rich in various types of plants that have the potential to be used in the health sector. Basil leaves (Ocimum sanctum L.) is a plant that has antibacterial potential. Antibacterial compounds are compounds that can inhibit bacterial growth. Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of basil leaf extract (Ocimum sanctum L.) with varying concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%, and to determine the effective concentration of basil extract which has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228. Methods: This research was conducted with laboratory experimental research method. Basil leaves ethanol extract was prepared by using maseration extraction method. The method used in the inhibitory test using diffusion of the disc with 5 samples in each treatment group. The sample consisted of treatment groups, ethanol extract of basil leaves with concentration of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%. Results: Antibacterial test results showed that basil leaf extracts with various concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% had antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228. The result of this study showed that ethanol extract of basil leaves with 20% concentration had inhibitory power of 10,23 mm, 40% of 10,32 mm, 60% by 10,58 mm, 80% by 13,37 mm, and 100% by 15,83 mm. Conclusion: Basil leaf extract concentrations 100% effective as an antibacterial against Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228 at 15,83 mm.

Abstract

Background: In West Java the coverage of the IPV vaccine in 2018 was quite low, namely 51.16%. In the City of Cimahi in 2017 there was a target of 10,974 babies with a coverage of 3,063 (27.91%), in 2018 the target was 10,848 coverage 5,707 (52.6%) and in 2019 the target to be achieved was 10,777 babies. In the City of Cimahi until 2019, data, both research results and published survey results, have not been found that can be used as a reference to provide an overview of the results of the implementation of the IPV vaccine. Objective: To find out the coverage of IPV vaccine and the most dominant determinant of the completeness of IPV administration. Method: The study design used was cross-sectional. The sample size in the study was 193 children aged 12-24 months who were selected using cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected by means of interview techniques using structured questionnaires and observations. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis.The number of samples studied was 35 respondents, the sample was selected using total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by interview techniques using structured questionnaires and observations. Data analysis uses the kai-square test. Results: The coverage of IPV provision in the city of Cimahi in 2019 was 73.6%. The significant variables were mothers who worked (PR = 2,140 and ρ = 0.026) and mothers who had low knowledge (PR = 2.881 and ρ = 0.004). The multivariate result of the most dominant variable was maternal knowledge Exp (B) = 2,917. Conclusion: Several reasons for not providing IPV were because they did not know the information, did not have time, IPV was not available, was not allowed by husbands and reasons of trust. Suggestions for the Health Office to prioritize the provision of information related to IPV and optimizing the role of kader in providing education or understanding of IPV

Abstract

Background: Prevalence of cancer in Indonesia is increasing and needs special attention from health care providers. Perception of cancer is a mental representation regarding patients’ beliefs about cancar. The positive or negative representation influences patients’ decision to manage their illness which leads to quality of life. Objective: This study aimed to investigate cancer patients’ perceptions of their illness and to analyse causal attribution of demographic and clinical characteristic of the patients and their satisfaction with cancer information to the perceptions. Methods: Sixty adult cancer survivors at Panembahan Senopati Bantul Hospital of Yogyakarta Indonesia were recruited in cross-sectional study completing a demographic and health-related data form, the Satisfaction with Cancer Information Profile Questionnaire and Brief Illness Perceptions Questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and path analysis. Results: Most patients had negative perceptions to cancer. The perceptions of cancer had direct causal association and influenced by patients satisfaction of cancer information provided by health care providers (β= .609, p = .043). Conclusion: Petients perceived cancer as a threat to their lives and was significantly influenced by patients’ satisfaction of cancer information, therefore health care providers need to adjust information to the cancer patients to meet their needs.

Abstract

Background: The number of male FP is only 1.81% (Kemenkes RI, 2014). Lacking public knowledge, awareness and concern for gender equality and justice, men are required to increase their participation in reproductive health and family planning. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the role of midwives, inhibiting factors, how to overcome obstacles in realizing gender equality related to family planning services. Methods: Qualitative descriptive, sociological juridical approach, primary data types and secondary data, with qualitative analysis. Respondents 6 midwives PMB, 4 KB acceptors, accidental sampling. Results: In PMK No 1464, midwives play a role in providing counseling and counseling to married couples that not only women are required to use family planning but men need to use family planning. Good counseling and outreach to couples of childbearing age to provide an understanding of gender equality and contraceptive methods are expected to provide better results than without treatment. Conclusion:Based on the result of this research which had done showed that overcome obstacles must involve various sectors in realizing gender equality increasing access to health services, increasing promotion and counseling to increase knowledge and awareness of gender equality and justice issues.

Abstract

Background: Teachers have experience difficulties in delivering reproductive health material to adolescent with intellectual disability. Until now, learning reproductive health has not been taught in a structured manner in learning in schools because it has not been included in the educational curriculum structure in special schools. The lack of references or guidelines for parents and teachers shows the importance of media learning.Objective: This study aims to develop audio-visual media as a learning media for reproductive health for adolescent with intellectual disability. Methods: This research is a Research and Development (R&D). The first step is a need assessment of the problems and experiences of the parents, the teacher then continues to draft the instructional media in audio-visual form. The validity test was carried out by media and material experts as well as field testing on teachers at SLB N 2 Yogyakarta.Results: The feasibility of reproductive health audio-visual media for adolescents with intellectual disability based on material experts is 74 points (feasible with a good predicate), the eligibility of media experts is 90 points (feasible with very good predicate), and the eligibility of teachers is 81.5 points (feasible with very good).Conclusion: The design of the audio-visual media that has been made feasible to be tested on adolescents with intellectual disability after passing the revision stage.

Abstract

Background: High levels of dust in the air can affect lung function, to prevent the occurrence of diseases of the lungs caused by dust exposure, it is necessary to use a mask at work and in an effort to increase the lung's vital capacity due to exposure to dust at work can be done with breathing exercises (Breathing) Exercise) and is expected to improve lung ventilation function.Objective: The purpose of this study was to study the interaction of the application of breathing exercises and the use of masks to increase lung capacity.Methods: This research is a quasy experiment research with a complete random design in two directions. The treatments were tested in four groups namely, breathing exercise, the use of mask, breathing exercise and the use of masks and control groups.Results: The average vital lung capacity in the treatment group with the interaction of the use of masks and the application of breathing exercise is 4.3 L, in the group using the 3.0 L mask, in the group that does breathing exercise 3.1 L while in the control group that does not use masks and applying breathing exercises with an average capacity of 2.7L.Conclusion: Breathing exercises and the use of a mask for 1 month continuously can increase the vital capacity of the lungs.

Abstract

Background: In Indonesia, prevalence of over nutrition (overweight and obesity) among children and adolescent is increasing. This can be influenced by the life style ,that is growing now, is on line food ordering (OFO).Objective: The purpose of the study are to know the description of OFO, and behavior that related with of OFO among student in SMAN 25 Jakarta. Methods: The study design was cross sectional involving 216 students. Frequency OFO is dependent variable and as independent variables are characteristic (sex, level education of parent, and pocket money), and behavior (frequency of fast food, frequency SSB, and screen time). The study methods used non-probability sampling with the sampling technique was incidental sampling. Students filled out questionnaire and submitted it by on line.Results: The results showed 38% of student used OFO with frequency of 2 times a week. Mostly students choose fast food as a menu and 26,4% students choose Sugar-Sweetened Beverages (SSB). Results of bivariate analysis showed there was relationship between level education of parent, pocket money, frequency of fast food, frequency of SSB, screen time with frequency of OFO.Conclusion: Level education of parent, pocket money, frequency of fast food, frequency of SSB, screen time with frequency of OFO related with frequency of OFO.

Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk given to babies from birth for six months without adding and / or replacing it with other foods or drinks. Based on Article 6 in the same government regulation, every mother who gives birth must provide exclusive breastfeeding to the baby born to her. Based on the results of Riskesdas 2018, the proportion of breastfeeding patterns for infants aged 0-5 months in Indonesia was 37.3% exclusive breastfeeding, 9.3% partial breastfeeding, and 3.3% predominant breastfeeding.Objective: to determine the relationship between the variable perceived susceptibility and perceived benefits with exclusive breastfeeding for children under five in the working area of Kasihan I Health Center,Methods: This study is an analytic survey study using a cross sectional approach. The population are mothers who had babies aged 6-24 months. The statistical test used bivariate chi square statistical testResults: mothers who do not provide exclusive breastfeeding are 26.3% (10 people). In the variable perceived susceptibility, most of it was in the high category of 60.53% (23 people), the variable of perceived benefits, mostly in the high category was 60.53% (23 people). There is no relationship between perceived susceptibility and breastfeeding (p = 0.122; OR = 3.167). There is a relationship between perceived benefits and giving (p = 0.021; OR 5.833)Conclusion: There is a relationship between perceived benefits and exclusive breastfeeding, while the variable perceived susceptibility has no relationship with exclusive breastfeeding.
