Abstract

Background: Vitamin D deficiency could increase the risk of of cancer, autoimmune reaction, cardiovascular disorders, and diabetes mellitus. Objective: The aims of study is to determining effectivity of sunbathing therapy in the morning on blood glucose levels of respondents whose indicated diabetes mellitus type 2. Methods: The study was an quasy experimental study that used 20 respondents whose indicated diabetes mellitus type 2. Afterwards, respondents divided into two group such as control group with no therapy intervention and treatment group with intervention of sunbathing therapy in the morning. Blood glucose levels of each respondent was tested using point of care testing (POCT) on pre and post therapy. Member of treatment group did sunbathing therapy in the morning for 10 minutes in a week. Results: Based on this research showed that blood glucose levels on treatment group lower than control group. Treatment group obtained blood glucose levels from 316,1 ± 99,3 mg/dl decrease into 210,9 ± 81,9 mg/dl significantly (p <0,05) after therapy carried out. But, on control group obtained blood glucose levels from 299,1 ± 75,2 increase into 373,1 ± 68,1 mg/dl significantly (p <0,05). Conclusion: Sunbathing therapy in the morning for 10 minutes had effect to decrease blood glucose levels

Abstract

Background: Good food selection is very important. It will help in efforts to prevent diseases such as Covid-19. Objective: To analyze the effect of Covid-19 pandemic to consumption habits of fruit, milk and multivitamin among adults in Jambi Province Methods: This research is a type of survey research conducted in April 2020. Data collection was carried out using Google forms. The sampling technique is accidental sampling. The sample is adults aged 19-59 years totaling 254 people. Data were analyzed using wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed that before the covid-19 pandemic most respondents had the habit of consuming fruits, milk and multivitamins which were classified as rare, after the existence of the Covid-19 pandemic it was classified as frequent. There was an influence of the covid-19 pandemic on fruit, milk and multivitamin consumption habits (p <0.001). Conclusion: There is an effect of the Covid-19 pandemic to the consumption habits of fruit, milk and multivitamins in adults in Jambi Province.

Abstract

Background: First Aid is a temporary treatment for accident victims before getting more comprehensive help from health workers. In sports, it’s necessary to have knowledge about sports injuries includes the causes, prevention, and skills in handling the injuries. Objective: This research aimed to analyze the effect of the education of first aid using splint and bandage on martial arts injuries toward the knowledge and skills of Tapak Suci members. Methods: This was pre-experimental quantitative research with pre-test post-test design without a control group. There were 50 respondents as the population and 30 respondents were taken as the research sample using a simple random sampling technique. The research data were collected using a questionnaire and observation sheets. Then they were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-test. Results: The results showed the average score of respondents' knowledge before and after the health education was 10.7 and 16.07 respectively. While that of skills before and after the health education was 4.23 and 7.53 respectively. Based on Paired T-test sample results, it was obtained that p-value = 0.001. Conclusion: There is an effect of the education first aid using splint and bandage on martial arts injuries toward the knowledge and skills of Tapak Suci.

Abstract

Background: One way that can be done to reduce the incidence of breast cancer is by breast self-examination (BSE). The lack of awareness of Indonesian women in conducting early detection of breast cancer, even many Indonesian women do not yet know the ways to detect breast cancer early causing a large enough incidence of breast cancer. Junita (2011) states that knowledge, attitudes are still lacking due to lack of information and lack of awareness about examinations Objective: Knowing the description about the level of knowledge of adolesscent women about breast cancer and the behavior of breast self-examination. Methods: This research is description research. The method used in this study is a survey, through interviews using a questionnaire with a cross-sectional approach. Population in this research is second class daughter (class IX) with number of 8 class in SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Kotagede Yogyakarta as many as 78 respondents. Result: The level of knowledge about breast cancer with enough category as many as 55 student (70,5%), good knowledge 9 student (11,5%), and less of knowledge 14 female students (17,9%). Behavior BSE with good category as much 17 (21,8%), enough 47 (60,3%) and less 14 (17,9%). Conclusion: Based on the results of research on the level of knowledge about breast cancer shows that most of the knowledge of female students have enough knowledge as much as 55 students (70.5%).Based on the results of research table about the frequency distribution behavior of breast self-examination shows that the greatest behavior is enough that as many as 47 female students (60.3%) of 78 respondents.

Abstract

Background: One of the government's efforts to reduce MMR, IMR and reduce complications during pregnancy include the activities of the Mother Love Movement, Strategy Making Pregnancy Safer and the Duplication of Mother and Child Health Books. The KIA handbook as an educational tool and an effort to increase information on pregnant women. Objective: This study aims to explore related to the use of the KIA handbook as a source of information, Birth Plan and Postpartum Contraception Planning. Methods: This study uses a concurrent triangulation strategy by collecting quantitative and qualitative data together. The sample in this study was 30 pregnant women with total sampling technique. Data analysis with a comparison of quantitative data and qualitative data. Results: The results of the study showed that out of the 15 respondents who had good use of the KIA handbook, the majority had good labor preparation. While of the 9 respondents who used the KIA handbook with sufficient categories, the majority also had good childbirth preparations. Of the 15 respondents who had good use of the KIA handbook, the majority had made contraceptive preparations. While of the 6 respondents who had less use of the KIA handbook, none planned for postpartum contraception. Conclusion: The conclusion is that the better the use of the KIA handbook, the better the preparation of labor and post-partum contraceptive planning.

Abstract

Background: Excessive salt consumption is a factor that can contribute to the incidence of hypertension and trigger coronary heart disease and stroke Objective: to determine the level of salt consumption, nutritional status, clinical examination, and the relationship between salt consumption and blood pressure in women in Batur Village Method: Quantitative descriptive with design cross-sectional for 106 women aged 35-55 years. The research instrument is Recall 1x24 hours, Body Mass Index (BMI), Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), waist-hip circumference ratio, blood pressure, uric acid test, Blood Sugar Level (BSL) and Fasting Glucose (FG). Results: The average salt consumption of respondents is 4.5 grams’/day shows that it does not exceed the recommended limit of Regulation of Minister of Health No. 30 of 2013 (5 grams/day). The majority of BMI is level 1 obesity (39.6%), MUAC (93%) has a normal category. BMI and Waist-Hip Circumference Ratio (WHCR) (65.1%) has a risk category. Blood pressure with the highest criteria (47% systolic; 35% diastolic) has a pre-hypertensive category. Uric acid level, BSL and FG are normal. There is no significant relationship between salt consumption and systolic blood pressure (p =0.373), and there is a significant relationship between salt consumption and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.002; r = 0.471) Conclusion: the salt consumption of respondents is normal below the recommended limit, the nutritional status of most respondents has a level 1 obesity category and there is a significant relationship between salt consumption and diastolic blood pressure in women in Batur Village

Abstract

Background: Patient with Diabetes ulcer/gangrene require a long period of treatment so that various nursing problems can arise including physical, psychological, social and spiritual problems related to the patient's response to the illness. Research conducted by Sofiana, et al (2012) of hospitalized patients with diabetic ulcers at Arifin Ahmad Hospital in Pekan Baru shows the results that more than 50% of patients experience psychosocial problems including low self-esteem, negative body image, negative self-concept, self-ideal irrelevant and high stress levels. Referring to the philosophy of nursing where nursing believes that humans and humanity are the central point of every health care effort and that human is a whole and unique creature of God Almighty that consist of bio-psycho-socio-spiritual and cultural aspects. Therefore, to be able to carry out their lives, human needs must be met in a balanced way that includes bio-psycho-socio-spiritual and cultural. Objective:The purpose of this study was to identify comprehensive nursing problems in nursing assessment by the Gordon Functional Health Pattern Model in Diabetic ulcer / gangrene patients. Methods: This is a quantitative descriptive research with survey for the design. 20 Diabetic patient with ulkus or gangrene recruited as the sample though total sampling technique. Results:Based on research conducted on 20 diabetic ulcer / gangrene patients in the medical nursing ward of Budi Asih Regional Hospital found that nursing problems in each of Gordon's functional health patterns can be identified. Conclusion: .Nursing assessment with Gordon's pattern is able to identify the patient's nursing problems comprehensively in the biopsychososiospiritual aspects

Abstract

Background: Increased breast milk production is affected by the presence of polyphenols and steroids in the heart of a banana.. Based on the results of the survey conducted by researchers at BPM Wirahayu Panjang in August 2018, of the 10 postpartum mothers, 6 (60%) of postpartum mothers whose less breast production and 4 (40%) postpartum mothers with smooth breastfeeding. While from the total postpartum mothers in August 2018, postpartum mothers who did not breastfeed were 14 people (33.3%) and only 28 people (66.6%) were breastfeeding.Objective: of this study was to determine the Effect of Banana Heart Consumption on Breast Milk Production in Postpartum Mothers Methods: This type of research uses quantitative research with a pre-experiment approach with the design of Two Group Pretest-Postest. Population is all postpartum mothers who delivered at BPM Wirahayu Panjang with an average birth rate in April-June 2019 of 120 people.The number of samples in this study with details of 30 case groups and 30 control groups. Result: it is known that the average milk production in the intervention group after consuming banana heart in postpartum mothers is 112,500 ml.Conclusion: influence of consumption of banana heart on breast milk production in BPM Wirahayu.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease currently a global health problem. A higher waist circumference and higher body mass index (BMI) are associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, although the association may vary in different populations. Objective: Research shows that there is a significant positive correlation of body fat percentage with the incidence of diabetes. The aim of the study was to identify the relationship of BMI with the risk of developing Type 2 DM in the elderly. Methods: The research design used was observational with cross sectional approach. The population in this study 40-90 years old at RW 5 Sawunggaling Surabaya who did not have a history of T2DM. Sampling technique was simple random sampling, where 80 samples. Independent variable is eldery BMI. Dependent variable is risk for elderly T2DM. Results: Spearman Rank statistical test results p = 0.032 significantly states there is a relationship between BMI and risk of T2DM correlation coefficient values ​​or the level of relationship + 0.240. There is a relationship of BMI with the risk of T2DM in the elderly. Conclusion: The higher the value of BMI, the more risk an elderly person has T2DM. It would be better if the elderly keep their body remains ideal so as to reduce the risk of T2DM. The right way for the elderly to maintain an ideal body is a challenge in further.

Abstract

Background: Lean Hospital is needed in order to hospital can fulfill patient’s needs optimally, can give health service as much as possible to the patient. This research has a purpose for identifying medicine service, waste and the root cause of waste, so than we give reparation suggestion to medicine service that happens in Outpatient Pharmacy Installation of Regional Public Hospital. Objective: Respondent In this study, patients or their families and pharmacy Methods: This research is study case research with qualitative approach. The research stages are doing observation of service process’s flow which is made in value stream mapping, distributing questionnaires of patient’s value and waste, doing interview by 5 why method for knowing the root cause and waste critical. The proposed of improvements is obtained from Head of Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Results: The research result showed that the service medicine process of pharmacy installation has been lean. Waste critical that is obtained, is waste motion 21,1%. Conclusion: The root cause of waste motion is manually, there is a space that separates between rooms, Emergency Installation/ IGD’s service, Outpatient and Inpatient has not been done separately yet. Adding visual management, rearranging the layout of the room is a suggestion for improvements to eliminate waste.
