Abstract

Background: Working too long with computers, including laptops, desktops, tablets and other display devices (such as smartphones and other electronic reading devices)for 3 hours continuously can increase the risk of eye health problems, one of these is Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). One of the symptoms is visual symptoms, which consist of blurred vision and double vision Objective: This study intends to determine the effect of applying the 20-20-20 method on preventing visual symptoms of CVS. Methods: The research method used is a quantitative analytic method with a cross-sectional design. Results: The results of statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test found that visual symptoms complaints after and before the application of 20-20-20 had an Asymp Sig value (2 tiles) 0f 0,005. The hypothesis in this study was accepted that there was a significant effect of the intervention 20-20-20 method because the value was 0.005 <0.05.Conclusion: The effective way to prevent visual symptoms of CVS is implementing 20-20-20 method.

Abstract

Background: As a result of the increased number of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Indonesia in 2021, nurses as one of the front-liners have experienced extreme workload and stress. This has caused increased numbers of mental health problems in nurses. One of the most common problems is anxiety. Objective: This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of relaxation techniques to reduce nurses’ anxiety levels during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is a quantitative study, using pre- and post- test design. Nurses’ anxiety levels were measured before and after the application of relaxation techniques, namely breathing, progressive muscle relaxation and guided imagery. A training was provided for the participants, along with module and a music video to guide their practices. Results: The application of relaxation technique for approximately two weeks after an online training significantly reduced nurses’ anxiety levels. The score of anxiety levels has significantly decreased from pre- (M= 56.51, SD= 15.80) to (M= 48.30, SD= 13.70) post- training and application, t(201) = 5.82, p < .001 (two-tailed). Conclusion: It is important to provide nurses with support that they need during pandemic or any other catastrophic events, in order to maintain their safety and well-being.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is one of the causes of mortality in the world. Hypertension is often referred to as the silent killer because it is often without complaints, a serious condition that significantly increases the risk of heart, brain, kidney, and other diseases. Complications in patients with hypertension can be life-threatening, so pharmacological therapies is wet cupping which can lower blood pressure. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of wet cupping on hypertension. Methods: The method in this study uses the PICOS framework, namely Population/problem (P), Intervention (I), Comparison (C), Outcome (O), and study design (S). In the early stages of article selection, 68 articles were found from the PubMed database, ProQuest, Elsevier, Science Direct, Google Scholar, Harvard Library, Springer Link, ResearchGate, Taylor and Francis search engine after further matching, 60 article were selected, then 53 articles were excluded because they were not appropritate. With problems, intervention, study design, and no effect of wet cupping on hypertension so that 7 articles were obtained that matched the research topic. Results: The results of the search that wet cupping affects hypertension, this is evidenced from before and after the wet cupping intervention was given, namely there was a significant decrease in systole and diastole with p-value <0,05. This wet cupping treatment is more effective, given once a month for satisfactory results with an adminstration time of 15-30 minutes. Conclusion: This treatment is highly recommended to the general public, health clinics, hospitals, and health workers and this treatment provides many benefits.

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TBC) until now still a public health problem, Indonesia take second position with highest TBC MDRload in the world. Tle level of TBC MDR treatment success in Indonesia on 2013 reach 51% despite Tuberculosis handling effort with DOTS strategy has been applied since 1995. One of DOTS strategy component is direct supervision swallowing drug by supervisory role o swallowing drug to prevent drug resistance. Objective: research is to know the related of supervisory role and patient compliance swallowing drug with incidence of MDR tuberculosiMethods: Research desain using case control. The sample case is target total population 15 peoples and control sample is TBC patient with drug sensitive 30 peoples. Data analysis is univariat analysis, bivariate using Chi SquareResults: shows there is a relationship between supervisory role of swallowing drug with TBC MDR p value=0,034; OR = 9,3 (95% CI: 1,080-80,627) and patient compliance swallowing drug p value=0,015; OR = 6,4 (95% CI: 1,606-25,644) with TBC MDRConclusion: PMO monitoring and medication adherence are associated with the incidence of MDR. Recommend to public health service place for intensity increase of TBC MDR patient home visit about the importance supervisory role and patient compliance swallowing drug

Abstract

Background: Food safety in the community is relatively low. This is evidenced by the fact that many food products contain harmful substances, such as the discovery of formalin anchovy salted fish in the city of Yogyakarta. This condition can threaten the health of the people of Yogyakarta City because many traders use anchovies as the main raw material in their cooking, such as in the manufacture of Angkringan Cat Rice, the typical cuisine of the city of Yogyakarta. This potential hazard can be suppressed by reducing the level of formalin that may be contained in anchovy before consumption, one of which is by utilizing the saponin content in garlic peel waste. Objective: This study aims to study the effect of the mass of garlic peel waste powder on formalin in salted anchovy samples Methods: The type of this research was a completely randomized design (CRD) with ten mass variations of garlic peel waste powder, namely 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 grams of powder in 50 ml of distilled water. This design is used to soak 1 gram of anchovy with formalin for 30 minutes at room temperature. Sampling was done by accidental sampling method at five traditional markets in Yogyakarta City. Formalin identification was carried out using the ET Group brand formalin test kit. Samples that have been treated are then re-determined the levels of formalin. Determination of formalin content was carried out by the acidimetric method. The effect test was carried out statistically with a confidence level of 0.05. Results: The highest decrease in formalin levels in the F7 treatment (soaking 1 gram of anchovy salted fish in 6 grams of garlic peel powder in 50 ml of distilled water for 30 minutes) reached 89.12%. However, with the addition of more powder (F8-10), it was seen that there was a decrease in the reduction ability of formalin by saponins. The statistical test showed that the mass of garlic peel waste powder affected reducing the level of formalin in anchovy salted fish (sig < 0.05). Conclusion: Garlic peel waste powder has the potential to reduce formalin levels in anchovy salted fish

Abstract

Background: There are 775 babies exclusively breastfed from 1,150 babies. Mother is the main character in exclusive breastfeeding. To find out the internal maternal factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding. Objective: To determine the internal maternal factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding. Method: Quantitative with cross-sectional research. November–December 2021 was the Sri Kuncoro Health Center's operating area for the analysis. Just 97 moms were included and excluded from the study's 109 total samples. This study's dependent variable is exclusive breastfeeding, and the independent factors include age, education, employment, number of children, and mother knowledge. Data were acquired using valid and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate phases. Results: As many as 63.9 per cent of mothers who provide exclusive breastfeeding, 84.5 per cent aged 20-35 years, work in the informal sector 71.1 per cent, have low education 55.7 per cent, number of children ≤ 2 children and have poor knowledge 54.6 per cent. There is a relationship between work, education and knowledge of mothers and exclusive breastfeeding (p-value < 0.05) Conclusion: Mothers will exclusively breastfeed their children if they work in the informal sector, have higher education and are well-rounded
