Abstract

The coffee commodity and supported by a unique landscape on Mount Kawi's slopes, is an excellent potential for Wagir District to develop into a coffee agrotourism destination. This development cannot be separated from the cooperation needed from the government to the community, especially farmers so that this Coffee Agrotourism can have a welfare and sustainability impact on society and the environment.  Also, this study aims to describe the condition of coffee plantations and the level of community participation in their management and to analyze the company's internal and external factors that can formulate appropriate development strategies. Mixed methods were used in this research, and analytical tools such as AHP-SWOT and the Arnstein Participation Ladder Analysis were used. The study results showed that community participation in developing coffee agro-tourism is still relatively low. It is triggered by limited understanding and knowledge regarding the concept of agro-tourism. Recommendations for development strategies are based on the level of participation and conditions in the field, namely by increasing field extension resources to increase farmer institutions' role in creating good coffee agro-tourism. Good farmer institutions are expected to maintain coffee quality and uniformity of coffee quality through farmer groups and improve marketing efficiency.

Abstract

The micro and small industries play an important role in the growth of the national economy, as evidenced by the increasing number of micro and small business units every year and their contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, the COVID-19 pandemic has decreased revenue for micro and small industry players, forcing them to make efficiency measures in their business. To overcome this difficult situation, implementing e-commerce in micro and small industries is considered an important marketing strategy to maintain business continuity. In fact, only a few micro and small business actors apply e-commerce. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the implementation of e-commerce in micro and small industries, as well as the impact of e-commerce implementation on the performance of micro and small businesses in Indonesia. The data used in this study were secondary data from the 2019 survey of micro and small industries conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and the respondents were categorized into two groups: micro and small industries (SMI) that implement e-commerce and those that do not. The data was analyzed using propensity score matching. The study results showed that the implementation of e-commerce has a positive and significant impact on the performance of micro and small industries, namely an increase in employees, revenue, and business profit.

Abstract

Pekalongan Regency is a district with the highest growth rate of the agricultural sector in Central Java, but conventional rice farmers face various problems including fluctuations in rice production, limited resources and farmers who have dual roles as producers and consumers. Further analysis of rice production and consumption among farmer households is needed to address this issue. Therefore, this study aims to examine the factors impacting rice production and consumption, as well as marketable surplus, among farmer households. The research was conducted in Kandangserang District as one of the highest rice producers with a sample of 95 farmers were taken by simple random sampling. The analytical tool used is ordinary least squares. based multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that seed quality, fertilizer use, and the presence of technology significantly impacted rice production, while land area, labor, and technology had no significant effect. Furthermore, the number of family members was a significant factor, while income and rice price had no significant impact to the consumption and the marketable surplus sold was determined to be 46.26%. Based on these results, it is recommended that farmers utilize quality seeds, balanced fertilizers, productive labor, and technology to increase the quantity and quality of rice production. Additionally, the consideration of alternative staple foods to rice may help to increase the marketable surplus available for sale.

Abstract

Sungei Putih Research Unit is an area located in Galang District, Deliserdang Regency which has a rubber plantation sector. The vacant land found in rubber plantations in this area is used by the community, one of which is to grow corn. The purpose of this research is to increase the income of corn farmers through the use of land between rubber plantations in Sungei Putih Research Unit and to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of corn farming by utilizing land using the R/C Ratio and ROI. This research was conducted at Sungei Putih Research Unit, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency using the Saturated Sampling method to select 9 farmers who intercropped rubber with corn as research samples. To find out whether the business is profitable or not, production costs and income are calculated and then analyzed using the R/C Ratio and ROI, and the income contribution is calculated. The results showed that the R/C ratio was 2.36 > 1, which means that every production cost of Rp. 1,000 will generate income of Rp. 2,360 for farmers so that corn farming on rubber plantations between Sungei Putih Research Unit is profitable. The ROI value of 36.66% indicates that farming has a profitable profit rate, and a revenue contribution of 69.39% indicates that corn farming on rubber plantation land makes a good contribution to the total income of farmers. To increase the maximum income, it is recommended that farmers take good care of their corn plants so that they are free from pests and diseases.

Abstract

The agribusiness sector which collaborates with the tourism sector is one of the solutions in the improvement effort of Indonesia's economy. There are various ways to unite the agribusiness and tourism sectors, one of which is the development of tourism villages. Kampung Agro is a tourist village in Banjar City that allows visitors to learn to choose and pick their ready-to-harvest honey star fruit which then can be consumed directly. However, various problems still hinder the development of Kampung Agro. The management of Agro Village still relies on traditional methods without involving any innovation or technology, mainly due to the lack of coordination with farmers and minimal involvement of various stakeholders. The development of Agro Village should be carried out through a collective effort involving various stakeholders who are involved in it. This study aims to construct the development pattern of the Kampung Agro innovation system in Banjar City. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach data obtained from primary and secondary sources. This study used the Soft System Methodology (SSM) analytical tool approach. The results showed that in the development of Kampung Agro it is necessary to apply a pattern that involves various parties, including managers, Banjar City Government, academics, business actors and the media to make various efforts through their duties and functions. The parties involved need to collaborate in the management of Agro Village through collective efforts by implementing various actions in accordance with recommended improvement measures. There is a need for support and involvement from the Banjar City Government, in the form of education, assistance policies, as well as mentoring and supervision.

Abstract

Even though the social order is starting to recover from the risk of Covid-19 transmission, but the performance of food security is still constrained in some countries, including Indonesia, where the majority of the population consumes rice. If the infection rate spikes again, it can hamper the supply chain for food commodities such as rice. From this paper, the research target focuses on the structure of the supply chain in rice under government supervision operated by a national company. In distribution capacity, domestic rice is a local type of superior quality to every interisland agricultural cooperative in Indonesia. Overall, this scientific paper calculates the multidimensional disruption in the rice supply chain from across the major islands in Indonesia During a normal situation and after a pandemic. A series of annual report data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) are tabulated using parametric regression. The research sample is framed in a combination of agricultural cooperatives in 6 objects in Indonesia based on 12 key variables. The time panel is divided into two compositions: 2017–2019 (pre–Covid) and 2020–2022 (post–Covid). The output of the study clarifies that there is a significant relationship between pre–Covid and post–Covid to the manufacturing industry, quality control, logistics, land infrastructure, and sales significantly. Then, there was a significant link between pre–Covid and post–Covid from paddy production to the manufacturing industry mediated by supply, logistics to agricultural cooperatives mediated by land and marine infrastructure, then agricultural cooperatives to consumers mediated by sales. In relation to this research, the participation of stakeholders is suggested to adopt schemes and controls that are integrated with the transition of the rice supply chain.

Abstract

The increasing awareness of healthy lifestyle among the public has made consumers more selective in choosing their food, particularly vegetables. Aquaponic vegetable products, which are free from pesticides, have emerged as an alternative for health-conscious consumers. This study aimed to identify the characteristics of consumers who purchase aquaponic vegetables based on product attributes at PT. Tanikota and to determine the ranking of attributes of aquaponic vegetables according to consumer preferences. The research method employed in this study was a case study, using a whole population of 70 aquaponic vegetable consumers at PT. Tanikota as the respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis of frequency distribution. The results of the study revealed that the characteristics of consumers who buy aquaponic vegetables at PT. Tanikota were generally women aged 26-35 years, holding an undergraduate degree, with 3 family dependents, employed in private sectors, and having an income range of 2,600,000-Rp 5,200,000/month. The attributes of aquaponic vegetables at PT. Tanikota were ranked based on consumer preferences, with the level of freshness of vegetables, variety of vegetables, color of vegetables, method of payment, method of purchase, physical form of vegetables, vegetable size, distance, vegetable packaging, and the price of vegetables, respectively. The lower rank of price attributes can be attributed to the lack of aquaponic vegetable cultivation in the city of Bandung, which makes it difficult for consumers to compare the prices offered by PT. Tanikota with those offered by other companies.

Abstract

Over time, the consumption of rice as a food commodity has always increased along with the increase in population. In cultivating rice plants, of course it requires a lot of labor, especially in planting activities. However, the availability of agricultural labor is currently decreasing and the cost is expensive. One technology that can be a solution to this problem is the direct seed planting system (tabela). This study aims to compare farmers' income with the implementation of the two planting systems. Differences in planting systems will affect production costs, so it will also affect farm income. The data analysis used was farm business analysis and independent sample t-test. The results of the analysis found a significant difference between the average income of farmers with tabela and tapin systems. The average income of tabela farmers was Rp 31,373,962/ha/planting season and tapin farmers was Rp 27,267,175 with a difference in income of Rp 4,106,787/ha/planting season.
