Abstract

Pancaragam, the only active music group in West Sumatra Province, Indonesia, holds significant potential but has yet to gain widespread recognition. Similar to Tanjidor groups in Betawi Kalimantan, such as Pontianak and Pemangkat, Pancaragam faces challenges in expanding its reach and economic impact on its musicians. To address this, we offer strategic solutions focused on enhancing visibility through social media platforms. This proposal includes the implementation of management patterns that align with the characteristics of each social media platform. Firstly, a profound understanding is needed on how to manage and leverage the specific features of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. This involves the use of compelling visual content, such as video snippets from their performances, as well as active engagement with fans through comments and direct messaging. Furthermore, the implementation of creative digital campaign strategies can elevate Pancaragam's online presence. Contests or music challenges on these platforms can encourage community participation, while special offers or discounts for live performances can attract a broader audience. Collaborating with local influencers or social media users with an interest in traditional arts and culture can also be an effective way to expand networks and reach new audiences. With a combination of focused management and digital marketing strategies, Pancaragam can gain broader recognition, enhance their online presence, and ultimately provide a positive economic impact for its musicians.

Abstract

Violin instrument practicum at the ISI Yogyakarta Music Education Study Program is included in the Instrument Studies course in 4 levels, consisting of Instrument Studies I, II, III, and IV. In the assessment of the final semester exam for this course, the assessment is carried out using the idea of performance assessment which is applicable to the characteristics of violin performance, to avoid assessment bias. This article is the result of qualitative research with the material object of implementing the Final Semester Examination/UAS for the violin instrument study course at the ISI Yogyakarta Music Education Study Program, and the formal object of performance assessment in terms of the musicological aspect. The stages taken in this research include the process of literature study, observation, interviews and analysis. The result in this article is that performance assessment is needed as an accuracy of assessment parameters. The expected goal is that lecturers and students can use the evaluation results from performance assessments as a guide to identifying strengths and weaknesses in violin playing skills. Assessment includes: fundamental aspects include assessing the close relationship between the player's body posture and the violin instrument; aspects of notation and intonation accuracy; aspects of rhythmic accuracy; and aspects of musical interpretation.

Abstract

Abstrak  Pewarnaan alam dapat menjadi salah satu altenatif pewarnaan batik karena aman digunakan dan ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pewarnaan alam pada batik di Rumah Batik Pariangan Kecamatan Pariangan Kabupaten Tanah Datar yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bahan alam yang digunakan, proses pembuatan ekstrak warna alam, proses pewarnaan alam dan resep pembuattan ekstrak dan resep pewarnaan alam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 4 jenis bahan alam yaitu daun jati, kulit, kayu mahoni, kulit jengkol dan daun alpukat. Fiksasi yang digunakan yaitu tawas, kapur sirih dan tunjung. Proses pembuatan ekstrak dengan cara mempersiapkan alat dan bahan, menghitung zat yang di butuhkan. Untuk ekstraksi daun jati, kulit kayu mahoni dan daun alpukat dilakukan dengan cara perebusan menjadi 1/2 ekstrak dan untuk ekstraksi kulit jengkol yang dilakukan dengan cara merendam kulit jengkol semalaman  dan dilakukan perebusan menjadi 1/2 ekstrak. Proses pewarnaan dimulai dari pencelupan TRO/Rinso, pencelupan dengan ekstrak warna alam yang dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali dilanjut penguncian warna dengan fiksator. Resep TRO/Rinso menggunakan 20 gram dengan 4 liter air. Resep pembuatan ekstrak warna alam menggunakan Vlot 1:5 dan vlot 1:6, untuk fiksasi menggunakan vlot 1:10. Kata Kunci: Bahan Alam, Proses Pembuatan Ekstrak

Abstract

This research is motivated by an effort to reduce the negative impact caused by the use of synthetic dyes on the environment by using cassava leaves as an environmentally friendly ecoprint textile motif. The aim of this research is to describe the direction of color (hue), clarity of motif shape, washing resistance and explain differences in color direction (hue), clarity of motif shape and washing resistance of ecoprint results on cotton and silk materials using whiting mordant. The type of research is experimental research. The data in this research uses primary data with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses frequency percentage and data analysis uses the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) program. What was produced in this research was the name of the color on the ecoprint of cotton material using whiting mordant, resulting in Sepia Brown color on cassava leaves and Muddy Waters Brown color on cassava leaf bones with clarity of motif shape in the very clear category and washing resistance in the good category. Silk material using whiting mordant produces Soft Brown color on cassava leaves and Clam Shell Pink color on cassava leaf bones with a very clear category and washing resistance in the good category.

Abstract

The ornamentation of single chairs is a crucial aspect in furniture design, contributing to the aesthetic value and beauty. This qualitative descriptive study utilized fieldwork data collection methods to delve into the chair ornamentation in Jepara, a coastal area in Central Java renowned for its carved furniture industry. This industry reaches all societal layers, from the low to the high income groups. The study identified a design revolution that shifted the focus of chair decoration from mere ornaments to form and function. Specifically, the ornamentation in the design of single wooden chairs in Jepara includes two main motifs: flora and fauna, as well as geometric. The study also explores how innovation in the ornamentation of Jepara's single chairs contributes to the competitiveness in local and international markets, highlighting the importance of design in the furniture industry. Furthermore, this research reveals the impact of the interaction between Jepara's carving art traditions and modern design trends, creating a unique synergy that enriches both cultural heritage and contemporary aesthetics. This analysis uncovers how each chair style with its respective ornamentation reflects the distinctive cultural and social background of the region.

Abstract

Pengenalan produk lokal khas Sumatera Utara dilakukan sebagai upaya meningkatkan brand image setiap daerah untuk lebih diketahui oleh masyarakat setempat maupun wisatawan pendatang dari luar Provinsi. Senjata strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan adalah berupa mengikuti atau mengadakan pameran untuk setiap event kebudayaan dan nasional, karena sangat berpeluang mendatangkan pengunjung lebih banyak sehingga misi dan tujuan promosi yang diharapkan meningkat ketercapaiannya. Seiring perkembangan zaman, desain suatu booth pameran ikut andil berperan penting dalam menentukan indikator keberhasilan sebuah pameran sebagai daya tarik untuk dikunjungi berdasarkan dari rasa penasaran dan kekaguman pengunjung terhadap Booth pameran. Perancangan Exhibition Booth menerapkan konsep melalui tata pajang, tata letak, estetika, dan warna yang mewakili cerminan dari suku budaya Sumatera Utara serta suasana desain yang unik dan bernilai. Ukuran desain Booth mengikuti standar pameran untuk mengurangi space-consuming dan efektif dalam meletakkan produk. Material bahan utama pembuatan booth menggunakan Plywood dengan kualitas tidak mudah rusak, ringan dan mudah untuk dibentuk.

Abstract

Pembuatan kertas seni menggunakan kertas bekas, ampas kulit tebu, dan kulit buah naga merupakan salah satu bentuk pemanfaatan limbah organik untuk menghasilkan benda bernilai seni dan bernilai jual. Kertas bekas yang dimanfaatkan adalah kertas bekas kegiatan akademik sedangkan ampas tebu diperoleh dari penjual air tebu yang setia harinya selalu menyumbangkan ampas tebu sebagai salah satu limbah organik. Berdasarkan kandungannya, ampas tebu yang kaya kandungan selulosa dapat menjadi bahan utama selain kertas bekas dalam pembuatan kertas seni. Hal ini merupakan bentuk kontribusi dunia seni terhadap lingkungan untuk memanfaatkan berbagai macam limbah yang sesuai dengan fungsinya dan mengurangi penggunaan kertas pabrik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Practice based research melalui percobaan langsung dengan mengikuti empat tahapan penciptaan karya yaitu tahapan eksplorasi, perencanaan, perwujudan dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode praktikum secara fisika yang memperoleh hasil bahwa kertas yang dihasilkan memiliki tekstur lebih kasar dan bercorak serta diketahui bahwa kulit buah naga tidak dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap warna kertas apabila diolah secara fisika.

Abstract

his article aims to prove that Nagari Pasilihan in Solok Regency has extraordinary natural and cultural resources, where these natural riches create a variety of beautiful tourism potentials. Data were obtained directly through observation and documentation. Other sources for this research also include the internet. The collected data were then adjusted between internet data and on-site conditions, along with interview results to ensure the validity of the presented data.Findings in this article include several attractive tourism potentials to be promoted, such as cultural activities within the community involving customs and traditions, a sacred grave of a respected figure believed to vibrate during significant events in the region, the beautiful Ombilin River with its clear water suitable for rafting, valuable and fascinating green stones, the Lubuk Larangan fish as part of the yearly cultural harvest, the panoramic view of Bukik Palano showcasing the beauty of the surrounding area from the summit, and the pine forest that can be a family tourist destination.Based on these findings, there is a wealth of natural potential that can be developed into tourist attractions for the wider community, and Nagari Pasilihan Solok can be considered a "Hidden Paradise." The government should take serious measures in managing these natural potentials as tourist destinations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan pengaruh filosofis Al Farabi terhadap eksistensi musik gambus dalam pendidikan seni musik mancanegara. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis konsep-konsep Al Farabi tentang musik dan bagaimana konsep-konsep tersebut mempengaruhi pengembangan musik gambus dalam konteks pendidikan seni musik internasional. Metode penelitian melibatkan analisis teks-teks filosofis Al Farabi, serta studi kasus tentang implementasi konsep-konsepnya dalam pengajaran dan praktik musik gambus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Al Farabi, khususnya mengenai harmoni, pengaruh musik pada jiwa, dan tujuan moral musik, memiliki dampak signifikan dalam perkembangan musik gambus. Penemuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pemikiran Al Farabi masih relevan dan dapat diterapkan dalam konteks pendidikan seni musik mancanegara. Konsep-konsep filosofisnya mendorong pengalaman musik yang lebih dalam, spiritual, dan bermakna, dan dapat membantu musisi gambus serta pendidik seni musik mancanegara dalam mengembangkan pendekatan pendidikan yang lebih holistik dan berpusat pada nilai-nilai.

Abstract

This study aims to read and recognize the 'Kenes Gandhes' dance work, a dance that depicts the agility and grace of Javanese women. It is developed from various dances found in several regions of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, choosing creative dance movements as its form. Kenes Gandhes dance, accompanied by vibrant music, is neatly packaged by its choreographer by combining elements and movements of Tradition and developing them into a new creative dance work. The choreographer and creator of Kenes Gandhes, Kinanti Sekar Rahina, categorizes Kenes Gandhes as a dance for children aged 13 to 21 years, after observing children at Kinanti Sekar Art Studio (SSKS) who show sufficient agility and energy in this age range. This dance can be performed by either a solo female dancer or a group, wearing yellow brocade costumes with short sleeves and batik skirts with the wahyu tumurun motif. This study uses a choreography approach proposed by Y. Sumandiyo Hadi, covering aspects of form, technique, and content, with basic elements consisting of movement, space, and time. The design of floor patterns, motion motifs, musical accompaniment, and choreography elements are structured into the choreographic form of Kenes Ghandes. This dance is expected to become one of the dance works that can develop in the general community to encourage ongoing love for culture. Additionally, this study seeks to explore the cultural values contained in the Kenes Gandhes dance to enrich the repertoire of dance art in Indonesia. This work is also expected to enhance public appreciation of local cultural richness and encourage the younger generation to preserve the nation's cultural heritage.
