Abstract

 The traditional art of Si Dalupa produced by the Datok Rimba Art Studio can be categorized as theatrical art based on the form of the work and especially because of its supporting elements; scriptwriter, director, actor, and musician. Apart from that, the art is also worked out cinematically. This article aims to analyze the drama of Si Dalupa's art in cinematic form based on the ideas of George R. Kernodle called 'structure' and 'texture'. The structure consists of themes, plots, characterizations. Meanwhile, texture covers dialogue, atmosphere, and spectacle. This research approach is qualitative with literature study techniques, observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. As a result, in terms of structure, Si Dalupa's art has the theme of the arrival of Islam to Aceh, the storyline is linear. Each character has a diverse physique, character, and social background. Whereas in terms of texture, each actor uses the Acehnese language, the atmosphere is built with serune and rapa'i musical instruments. Selain itu, kesenian tersebut juga digarap secara sinematik. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis dramatika kesenian Si Dalupa dalam bentuk sinematik berlandaskan pada gagasan George R. Kernodle yang disebut ‘struktur’ dan ‘tekstur’. Struktur terdiri dari tema, alur, penokohan. Sedangkan tekstur melingkupi dialog, suasana, dan spektakel. Pendekatan penelitian ini ialah kualitatif dengan teknik studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasilnya, pada struktur, kesenian Si Dalupa bertemakan ikhwal masuknya Islam ke Aceh, alur ceritanya linear. Setiap tokoh memiliki fisik, watak, dan latar sosial yang beragam. Sedangkan pada tekstur, setiap pemeran menggunakan bahasa Aceh, suasana dibangun dengan alat musik serune dan rapa’i. Sedangkan spektakelnya berlatar hutan dan pemukiman warga.Kata Kunci: Si Dalupa; Unsur Dramatik; Sinematik

Abstract

Tourism art is combination of ‘art domain’ and ‘tourism industry domain’. When it comes together, it would present a new kind of proper product called ‘tourism art’. The combination of those two domains inspires us to rise up the Village of Muaro Paiti which has various talents. Therefore, in the matter of actualizing Creative Industry program, the final aim of  the program is to prepare the Village of Muaro Paiti to be “art tourism of creative industry”. Traditional artists should be placed as business partner of tourism, not a worker of it who should obey and bow to tourism management, but they are expected to be able collaborating with the tourism instead. The exploitation of tourism operator or worker must soon be stopped due to the dense of visitation of international visitors who wish to closely see the uniqueness, speciality and high valuable of its arts and traditional cultures. The contribution of Creative Industry program in the future is to prepare Muaro Paiti society to be ready in collaboration with tourism department as a partner of art college: Indonesia Art Institute of Padangpanjang.Keywords: Oguang Bakawek; Tourism; Creative Industry..KESENIAN OGUANG BAKAWEK DI MUARO PAITI MENUJU INDUSTRI JUAL ABSTRAKSeni wisata merupakan perpaduan antara ‘domain seni’ dengan ‘domain industri pariwisata’. Bila keduanya bertemu akan menghadirkan satu jenis produk seni yang lazim disebut ‘seni wisata’. Pertemuan dua domain yang demikian menarik untuk dijadikan sumber inspirasi untuk mengangkat kesenian Oguang Bakawe di  Muaro Paiti, maka dalam rangka perwujudan kegiatan industri, satu capaian adalah Kenagarian Muaro Paiti siap menuju  industri jual, guna peningkatan taraf perekonomian rakyat.Seniman tradisi harus dipahami sebagai mitra bisnis pariwisata, bukan buruh pariwisata yang harus patuh dan tunduk pada manajemen pariwisata, namun dapat bekerjasama dengan pariwisata. Eksploitasi operator wisata terhadap seniman tradisional haruslah dihentikan mengingat wisatawan datang ke daerah-daerah tentu berkeinginan melihat dari dekat kekayaan seni dan budaya tradisional yang unik, khas, dan bernilai keaslian. Dampak dari kegiatan kreatifitas pendukung musik Saiyo di Muaro Paiti ke depannya masyarakat siap bekerjasama dengan pihak mitra dari Perguruan Tinggi Seni: Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) PadangpanjangKata Kunci: Oguang Bakawek; Seni Pariwisata; Industri Kreatif.

Abstract

Teaching and learning new/foreign vocabulary (language) using game must consider the needs and objectives of teaching and learning. Hidden object games are a type of puzzle game that has many educational benefits. The purpose of this study is to analyze hidden object games by formulating how hidden object games can be a stimulate medium for learning vocabulary, formulating elements of vocabulary education in them, and describing the motivation to recognize and increase insight into new/foreign language vocabulary for hidden object game players. The method for analyzing hidden object games as educational media uses the basic element game theory approach by Fullerton which focuses on analysis on the formal and dramatic elements of games for learning purposes. The results of the study show that hidden object games can educate and increase the players' vocabulary knowledge independently, especially the initial level vocabulary, namely receptive types, basic noun word classes. Hidden object games can accommodate vocabulary learning at the pre-teaching stage for beginner levels. However, hidden object games have not been able to maximize their benefits for higher vocabulary educational purposes such as productive vocabulary.Keywords: Hidden object game; Educational Game; Vocabulary Learning

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas anlisis musik untuk membangun ronggeang sebagai musik pada kelompok Rantak Saiyo di Nagari Salareh Aia, Kecamatan Palembayan, Sumatera Barat. Gambaran dari bentuk musik ronggeang disajikan dalam notasi lagu yang dianalisis diantaranya lagu Sirek-sirek dan Baburu babi. Fokus analisis lagu dari motif, ritme, kalimat, akor serta pantun. Bentuk bernyanyi yang dilakukan dalam menyanyikan lagu tersebut adalah transkripsi musik etnis dengan kelimuan musikologi. Sebagai suatu metode memberikan gambaran musik etnis Minangkabau ronggeang. Alasan pilihan lagu Sirek-sirek dan Baburu babi yang dibawakan Rantak Saiyo utnuk dianalisis adalah dikarenakan lagu tersebut yang paling sering dimainkan dalam pertunjukkan ronggeang. Lagu yang sering mengajak penonton ingin terlibat langsung membawakan pantun-pantun secara spontan

Abstract

The value of the keris aesthetic in the tong-tong village as a form of cultural beauty for the life of the Sumenep people changes the community paradigm about the aesthetics of keris, keris as a form of symbolic ingenuity, or becomes a collection object that is seen aesthetically. Keris is also a tool for various activities. Finally, the function of the dagger is as an art object. This study used qualitative descriptive research with a purposive sampling approach followed by the collection of observational data, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the basic materials of the keris are iron, steel, and nickel. At the same time, the aesthetic value that can be classified is determined by how many repetitions of the folding and forging process (saton). The more folding, the softer the prestige pattern will be produced. The forms of keris found in Aeng Tong-tong village are Keris Keraton Sumenep, Keris Dhamar Sumenep, Keris Gati Pamor Brahma Watu Sumenep, Carubuk Luk 7 Sumenep, Keris Senamper Ngulit Watermelon Sumenep, Keris Brojol Sepuh Dalem Sumenep, Keris Empu Koso Pamor Jung Madura Sepuh, each of these dagger forms has high aesthetic value and historical value so that the people of the Sumenep area always maintain artistic value,  sublime, and also cultural values that have been attached for generations to the people of aeng tong-tong village in general  Keywords: Keris, Aesthetics, Value, Art

Abstract

The novel “Kemarau” by A.A. Navis is a literary work that reflects the social life of the Minangkabau community. The main focus of this novel is on the life struggles of its characters. The issue of marriage, particularly the marriages involving the children in the novel, becomes the central focus of this research, aiming to uncover the problems and reasons behind the forbidden marriages portrayed in the story. Forbidden marriages in “Kemarau” arise from the father's attempt to overcome loneliness and the mother's mistake of not introducing or telling the story about the child's biological father. The causes of these forbidden marriages involve divorce, parental factors, and the influence of migration.In its analysis, this novel will be elaborated using sociological literature theory. This approach allows us to delve into the social life of a community reflected in a literary work and connect it with the reality of society during the birth and after the existence of the work. The research findings indicate that “Kemarau” is not only a literary masterpiece but also provides profound insights into the social dynamics of Minangkabau society. By delving into its social reality, the novel becomes a source of learning that enriches readers' experiences with the dynamics of life and marriage in Minangkabau culture

Abstract

This study focuses on five woodcraft furniture designs by Barata Sena that have been exhibited, namely the Groovy Grey Dining Table, Selendang Console Table, Coffee Table Soft Miami Blue, Wall Panel, and Cabinet Bontos Effect with 4 Drawer. The analysis of the aesthetic form of these five woodcraft furniture designs by Barata Sena is conducted using an interpretative analysis method with an approach to furniture aesthetics. The interpretation analysis is intended to examine Barata Sena's woodcraft furniture designs. Aesthetics in a furniture design can be observed through its composition of principles. Aesthetic form, emotionally, aims to present symbolic images for enthusiasts or users. The forms of the five Barata Sena furniture designs as a whole tend to be in the realm of Geometric Abstraction. These Barata Sena furniture designs not only have geometric basic shapes but are also configured with organic forms. The crafting techniques and finishing applied by Barata Sena tend to be innovative, which is the result of a fairly extensive exploration in order to achieve textures, colors, and constructions with appealing freshness.

Abstract

Film is a cinematographic work that not only presents captivating audiovisual elements but also serves as a medium for artistic and cultural expression, often addressing important issues. Dua Garis Biru is a film that boldly tackles social issues still considered taboo in Indonesia, such as early marriage and sexual education. This research aims to analyze the representation of these issues through the character Dara, using a semiotic approach. The focus is on how audiovisual elements—narrative, visuals, and sound—contribute to conveying messages about sexuality and sexual education within the social and cultural context of Indonesia. The research method employed is qualitative, involving an in-depth analysis of cinematic narrative and media aesthetics. The findings explore how Dua Garis Biru portrays issues of sexuality outside the context of marriage through dialogue, visual symbols, and the use of sound elements that strengthen characterization and atmosphere, providing deeper insight into the themes presented in the film.

Abstract

The study aims to investigate the modification, commodification of Sekapur Sirih dance as the identity of Bengkulu City. To refresh its attractiveness, the dance underwent modifications of the dance elements of its movement, duration, and musical components with the support of the government and artists. In addition, the commodification of cultural products occurs in Sekapur Sirih dance, which is carried out by artists and communities in an effort to increase commercial value as a form of source of income. Production, distribution, and consumption are part of the process of turning traditional art into high-value commodities. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The theoretical paths used are modification (Shils Hand), commodification (Vicent Mosco), and identity. (Yasraf Amir Piliang). The results of the research showed that the modifications carried out reflected the identity of Bengkulu City that appeared in the movement of Sekapur Sirih dancing and the commodification made into cultural products packaged to commercial value, meaning that packaging not only enhances cultural value but also requires economic value.

Abstract

This research endeavors to explore the appeal of Silek Lanyah as a form of tourist entertainment in Padang Panjang. Employing a qualitative approach, the study adopts descriptive analysis to elucidate field data and subsequently analyze it in line with the research objectives. Drawing upon the insights of scholars such as Koentjaraningrat on the concept of change, R.M Soedarsono's perspectives on the packaging of tourism art, and I Gusti Ngurah's views on tourist performances, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The findings of this investigation underscore the allure of Silek Lanyah as a captivating tourist attraction, capable of enticing visitors to explore and appreciate the charm of Kubu Gadang Tourism Village, while simultaneously showcasing Silek Lanyah as a cherished traditional art form within the region. Through this study, it becomes evident that Silek Lanyah holds significant potential in enriching the cultural landscape of Padang Panjang and contributing to the tourism industry by offering a unique and authentic experience for travelers.
