Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran environmental learning terhadap kemampuan menulis pantun siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Rejang Lebong. Metode eksperimen semu digunakan dalam meneliti dan menguji hipotesis. Sampel penelitian yang ditetapkan yaitu kelas VII 3 diambil secara random sampling dari 9 kelas yang menjadi populasi penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes unjuk kerja menulis pantun dan nontes yang berupa wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus uji t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre test 65, nilai rata-rata post test 75, dan nilai thit= 6,85. Hasil ini bila dikonsultasikan terhadap ttab dengan N = 38 (db/df = 37) pada taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh ttab = 2,02 dan pada taraf signifikansi 1% diperoleh ttab = 2,71. Dengan demikian, thit > ttab baik pada taraf signifikansi 5% maupun 1% atau 2,02 < 6,85 > 2,71. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan tersebut, maka Hipotesis alternatif (Ha) yang menyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran environmental learning efektif terhadap kemampuan menulis pantun siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Rejang Lebong terbukti kebenarannya dan dapat diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran environmental learning efektif terhadap kemampuan menulis pantun siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Rejang Lebong.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the value of character education in the novel Kembara Rindu by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The method used is a qualitative method. The data collection technique used is the documentation technique. The data analysis technique is by describing the entire contents of the novel, marking the value of character education, interpreting, and drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data by checking and expert validity. From the results of the study, there are 5 types of character education values ​​and the dominant ones used in the novel Kembara Rindu by Habiburrahman El Shirazy are the values ​​of character education related to oneself as much as 52.47%, then the value of character education related to relationships with fellow creatures is 25, 31%, then the value of character education related to God Almighty (religious) 20.37%, and the value of character education related to nationality as much as 1.23%, and finally the value of character education related to the environment as much as 0.62% . The value of character education shown in this novel is more about how the relationship between creatures. Therefore, from the results of this study, it should be noted how the value of character education should be implemented in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) develop teaching materials for learning to write short stories based on storyboards for grade IX junior high school students and 2) explain the feasibility of teaching materials for learning to write short stories based on storyboards. The type of research is research and development (R&D) which refers to the 10 stages of Borg and Gall which is limited to only 7 stages, namely research and information gathering, product development, validation testing, product revision, product testing, product revision, and field testing. The data were obtained from the study of Indonesian language textbooks, interviews, distributing questionnaires or questionnaires, product validation, student limited tests and field tests. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the interest of students in learning to write short stories is still quite low; 2) the product developed is a learning module entitled Writing Short Stories Using Storyboards; and 3) the results of media expert validation on the short story writing learning module using storyboards obtained an average score of 4.70 with a very good category, Indonesian language teacher validation obtained an average score of 4.73 and was categorized as very good, limited trial was obtained the average score is 3.81 and is in the good category, and the field test obtained an average score of 4.25 and is in the very good category. These scores were accumulated and resulted in an average score of 4.37 with a very good category and an eligibility percentage of 87.45%. So, the Write a Short Story Using Storyboard module can be used very reasonably.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characters and characterizations contained in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye and to describe the educational values ​​contained in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye. The method used in this study is a descriptive method using a structural approach. The data collection technique used is the documentation technique. Furthermore, the data analysis technique used in this study is a novel document content analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that the characters who play a role and build the story in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye are Laisa, Mak Lainuri, Dalimunte, Ikanuri, Wibisana, and Yashinta. Furthermore, the characterizations painted on these characters are: Laisa has a hard-working and firm character, Mak Lainuri has a gentle and kind character, Dalimunte is a smart and obedient character, Ikanuri is described as a naughty but kind character, Wibisana is a character who is a little naughty but in principle he is a good person, and Yashinta is a beautiful story character and has a good personality. In addition to the strength of the characters and characterizations, educational values ​​are also the strengths that are presented in the novel, namely religious, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic values, respect for achievement, communicative, peace-loving, reading, caring for the environment, social care, and responsibility. For this reason, Tere Liye's novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga is suitable as reading material and as teaching material for the basic competence of writing novels in schools.

Abstract

It is a challenge for English teachers to be able to effectively transfer lessons that are usually taught directly in class but now have to be taught online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The challenge of explaining English with a disconnect between teaching methods and how the content should be taught is part of a teaching strategy that should be prepared properly so that learning objectives can be achieved. This study is qualitative research aims to find out English teaching strategy performed by English teachers in online learning during pandemic Covid-19 at SMP Swasta F. Tandean Tebing Tinggi and their challenges during online teaching. Two English teachers contributed as the subject of the study. Obtained the data using observation, documentation, interview. Meanwhile, the data was analyzed through the following steps; koding data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. It was found that the teachers used vary teaching strategies depending on the language skills to be achieved, they use videos uploaded to YouTube in conveying the material and utilize the WhatsApp group, and Zoom as a communication medium and google classroom as a place to collect assignments. Lack of student motivation and the internet connection were the challenges that teachers often complained.

Abstract

Symptoms of hyperbole on the food trademark PT. Indofood is very interesting to study. This is due to the discovery of the use of hyperbole which is quite unique in one of PT. Indofood's products, namely Qtella. The location of the hyperbole language style on the brand is the use of the letter Q as a pronoun for the word Ketela. In addition, Qtella products also have the slogan 'The master of family snacks'. Therefore, the researcher wants to study further about other findings regarding the symptoms of hyperbole in the trademarks and slogans of PT. Indofood's food products. The purpose of this study is to find out how the symptoms of hyperbole on the trademark and slogan of PT. Indofood's food products and their impact. The method used in this research is descriptive analytical method. This study uses an analysis of the meaning of language style. Data collection in this study was carried out by observing and taking notes. That is, the data in this study was obtained by observing trademarks or products produced by PT. Indofood Indonesia and then recording advertising data containing language styles. First, the slogans and trademarks were observed, after that the advertisements containing the language style were selected. Based on the results of the study, conclusions can be drawn, namely hyperbole symptoms in PT. Indofood's trademarks and food product slogans are classified into 4 hyperbole symptoms, namely typographic hyperbole, meaning hyperbole, image hyperbole, and pronunciation hyperbole.

Abstract

The freedom to comment on social media allows netizens to freely comment. The purpose of this research is to describe the forms and functions of dysphemism in the comments of the Instagram account @kpipusat and its implementation is used as Indonesian language learning material at the high school level. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data in this study are expressions of dysphemism in the comments of the Instagram account @kpipusat. The data collection method used in this study is the listening method with advanced techniques, free listening, conversation, and note-taking techniques. The data analysis method used the distribution method with the advanced BUL technique (Bagi Unsur Langsung) and the matching method with advanced techniques. The results of this study indicate that the data found in the form and function of dysphemism. The forms of dysphemism in the comments column of the Instagram account @kpipusat are in the form of words, clauses and sentences. Meanwhile, the functions found are in the form of ridicule (insulting, insinuating, or dropping), the function of expressing annoyance, the function of showing disapproval, and the function of showing a negative image of someone or something.

Abstract

In communicating, pointing words or deixis are often used when talking to the interlocutor, especially in Japanese movies. For this reason, this study aims to identify the types of space and time deixis and find out the types of references contained in the Stand by Me Doraemon 2 movie by Takashi Yamazaki. The methodology of this qualitative study is descriptive analysis which analyzed the conversation between characters consisting deixis space and time words in Japanese movie titled Stand by Me Doraemon 2. The data were collected using the listening and note taking method. Then they were analyzed by Miles and Huberman method, which the important data is reduced, grouped, and summarized according to the research focus. The results showed that in Stand by Me Doraemon 2 there was deixis of space and time. There were 28 deixis of space including space, place, state and direction and 18 deixis of time including final, present, and future time. It is found that the most frequently used deixis of space was これ (kore) which means “this”. On the other hand, the most frequently deixis of time was さっき (sakki) which means “just know”. Overall, there were 19 types of endophoric references and 27 types of exophoric references. This research is expected to be used as learning material for Japanese language teachers and learners.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe children's language politeness in the maxims of reading, acceptance, humility, sympathy, agreement, and generosity. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection procedures in this study include: prevention, reading novels of the eye and ancient flame which carry maxims repeatedly, inventorying dialogues of children and main characters containing maxims, data collection, data analysis, and interpreting data. The data analysis technique in this study used content analysis with the steps of reading and classifying the types of maxims. The results of this study show politeness in children's language, the maxim of sympathy with the indicator showing sympathy for the speech partner, the maxim above the indicator does not cause harm to the speech partner, the maxim of humility with the type of praising the speech partner and one's own goals as much as possible and the maxim of error with the type of understanding agreement. others and maximize approval of others. The importance of language politeness in novels and daily life, this research can be used as language learning for children.

Abstract

As science and technology are now growing rapidly, all information is getting easier to get. Twitter social media is one of the clear evidences of this technological advancement. Twitter can prove its existence so quickly to take the attention of the Indonesian people, especially teenagers through its interesting content and is fairly able to compete with other social media. This study aims to describe language errors in the field of phonology and morphology contained in the tweets of @FiersaBesari twitter accounts. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods and research techniques. The research data in the form of tweets on twitter accounts @FiersaBesari within 3 months. The analysis is carried out by the method of listening and recording which is then presented through the analysis table. In this study, it was found that phonological language errors contained in account tweets @FiersaBesari dominated by non-standard word errors and morphological errors dominated by errors due to morph shortening. Based on the findings of the study shows, that there is still low awareness of the Indonesian people to use good and correct Indonesian on social media Twitter because it has become a characteristic, but it remains a threat to the preservation of Indonesian language.
