Every year, thousands of people, especially women and children, are victims of human trafficking who are sexually exploited or forced labor, no country is immune to this crime, many countries are sources of trafficked persons, transit points or destinations for trafficking in persons. Australia, which is geographically close to the South Pacific, makes Australia a destination country for trafficking in persons across countries and the South Pacific as a source country. To overcome this problem, Australia is making efforts through the National Action Plan program and the Bali Process regional cooperation forum to address the problem of human trafficking in the South Pacific region. The purpose of writing this article is to look at the issues of human trafficking that occurred in the South Pacific region during the 2013-2019 period and how Australia's efforts and obstacles in carrying out the National Action Plan program and the Bali Process forum to overcome these problems. This article uses Neoliberalisme theory to analyze Australia's efforts through cooperation with various other related actors to address human trafficking in the South Pacific through the Bali Process forum. The results of this study indicate that although it cannot completely eliminate trafficking in persons, the efforts made by Australia have resulted in programs to prevent, detect and protect victims of human trafficking in the region, as well as the creation of cooperation rules through the Bali Process forum that can suppress the development of trafficking in the South Pacific region.

Social media feed—which is populated with text embedded in numerous forms of multimedia contents—has been a crucial battleground for politicians to situate their policy relevance to the public during election campaign. Narrative building is somewhat played out by politicians in digital space to seek an earlier assurance of their victory. This article analyses how the proponent 2019 Indonesia presidential election candidate, Joko Widodo and his running mate, Ma’ruf Amin assigns a duality of function to the anti-hoax narrative besides renders it as a firm stance they take to differ from their rival. We employ action research at the scene drawing upon the five-month period of observing one of the consultative groups to the candidate on the matter of digital campaign, and at times sharing our perspective on digital literacy and tackling disinformation. Anti-hoax narrative in the context of election turns out to be an inescapable hot topic that arguably serves as a sort of ‘free-to-use political resource’ ready to be availed of by politicians to reiterate an agenda, counterbalance and issue, or even instill a new idea regarding nationhood.

This study discusses about Japan's defense policy during of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe administration which carried out a strategy of strengthening the role of the military (remilitarization) in maintaining state sovereignty and creating stability in the dynamics of security in the East Asia region. But on the other hand, this remilitarization policy actually clashed with Japan's pacifist country status as stated in the Japanese Constitution 1947 especially Article 9. This pacifist constitution explicitly means about limitations on the role of the Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) in resolving international disputes. Instead, Japan handed over its international security affairs under the security cooperation with the United States (American Umbrella). The aims of this study is to examine how the dynamics of determining Japan's remilitarization policy as a response for regional security complexities in terms of the situation at the domestic and international levels. By using analytical descriptive methods and qualitative approaches, this research was compiled based on sources obtained from books, journals, articles, state documents and mass media. The theory used in this study is the two level games theory purposed by Robert Putnam. The results of this study indicate that in order to achieve a win-set in determining remilitarization policies at the domestic level, public legitimacy and support from the Japanese government are the determining factors. Meanwhile, the expansion of the JSDF's role through strengthening security cooperation with the United States and alliance countries in the region is a determining factor for win-sets at the international level. By elaborating the win-set at both levels, the remilitarization policy is the right strategy for Japan to respond uncertainties dynamics of regional security.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the dynamics of Indonesia in the international arms trade. The arms trade continues to show a gradual increase driven by the economic interests of each country in addition to security interests. Arms trade is an important factor in its contribution to economic growth through exports and imports of defense equipment, although it is interesting to know how the dynamics of Indonesia's arms trade in the global arena in the military industry can facilitate Indonesia's main goal in international arms trade, namely as a leading arms supplier in the world. world. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. In conducting this research in order to facilitate the analysis, the author uses the concept of the Military Industrial Complex with a writing method in the form of descriptive analysis and in the process of analyzing and interpreting the data used the process of data reduction and drawing conclusions. At the end of this article, the author finds that the dynamics of Indonesia's activeness in the global arms trade is still dominated by its role as an arms importer, although over time, Indonesia continues to show developments regarding the implementation of its goal to become the world's leading arms exporter. However, despite these facts, there are several main problems that need to be faced by Indonesia, namely those related to the need for structural changes in the three main pillars of the defense industry, the allocation of the defense budget in the field of research and development, and collaboration in developing the defense industry. Indonesia has a doctrine of the universal people's defence system (Sishanrata), which of it can be seen from the support of civil society in national defence. Civil society's support for national defence and national security can be seen from the perspective of civil-military relations in border areas. TNI and civil society communication in strengthening national resilience seek to provide a broader understanding of the importance of harmonious and strong civil-military relations in border areas, especially in this case in the Natuna region, Riau Islands as the outermost area of the state border. Cooperation between various stakeholders in border areas is required to improve synergistic relations between civil-military in dealing with threats in border areas. Thus, civil society is expected to have an active role in guarding border sovereignty. In addition, the TNI also needs to have good social communication skills with civil society as a supporting component of national defence in border areas. It is necessary to collaborate and cooperate between the TNI and civil society on an ongoing basis in Indonesia's border areas to provide benefits to the people at the border and contribute to efforts to strengthen national defence.

In some cases, great powers have influence on how countries determine their foreign policy. The Horn of Africa is one of the regions in Africa where its countries have foreign policies, which heavily influenced by Great powers. During the decision making process at the United Nations regarding the Russia-Ukraine War, countries in the Horn of Africa do not have a single agreement and instead differ from each other. This study applies qualitative research and employs the theory of Regional Security Complex and Offensive Neorealism to examine how Great powers influence foreign policy decisions making process in the Horn of Africa, in particular the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The results indicate that there are two factors influence the foreign policy making process in the Horn of Africa, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors are historical background, political and economic domestic conditions. External factors illustrate how Great powers play significant role in determining the direction of foreign policy of the Horn of Africa countries relating to the Russia-Ukraine War. Thus, these lead to the difficulty of making single joint agreement to promote prosperity. Keywords: Horn of Africa, Great powers, Regional Security Complex, Offensive Neorealism, Russia – Ukraine War.
