Abstract

Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease that often occurs in Indonesia. This is a health problem with a high prevalence, which is 25.8%, according to the 2013 Riskesdas data. People with hypertension also often experience complications with other cardiovascular diseases such as hypercholesterolemia. Beta-blockers are commonly used by people to treat high blood pressure and an excessive heart rate. Experiments on the pharmacological effect of bisoprolol on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive conditions have been carried out by several previous researchers, both preclinically and clinically, but the effect of pathological hypercholesterolemia on the effect of decreasing mean arterial pressure and heart rate has not been established. Therefore, researchers are interested in investigating the effect of decreasing mean arterial pressure and heart rate in hypertensive and hypertensive rats with comorbid hypercholesterolemia. So researchers are interested in conducting research on the effect of bisoprolol on decreasing mean arterial pressure and heart rate in hypertensive male white rats and hypertension complicating hypercholesterolemia in male white rats. In this study, all experimental animals were hypertensive first, then the group with complications of hypercholesterolemia was induced by PTU and high fat diet, then measured using a photometer v5¬+ 5010. Meanwhile, the mean arterial pressure and heart rate were measured using a blood pressure gauge adinstrument NIBP ( Non invasive blood pressure) brand CODA (kent scientific). The data from this study were analyzed by two-way ANOVA. It was found that the administration of bisoprolol with doses of 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg significantly decreased mean arterial pressure and heart rate (p 0.05). And the 10 mg dose was the most effective in reducing the mean arterial pressure and heart rate in hypertensive male white rats and hypertension complicating hypercholesterolemia. And there is a difference in the decrease in mean arterial pressure and heart rate in male white rats with hypertension, the decrease is greater than in male white rats with hypertension complicated by hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract

Effervescent granules are coarse to very coarse powders containing medicinal elements in a dry mixture. It’s consist of sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and tartaric acid when added to water, the acid and base react to liberate carbon dioxide to produce foam. Effervescent can produce a pleasant taste due to the presence of carbonates which can help improve the taste of certain drugs. This objective of this study is to determine mixture of dry red ginger rhizome extract, curcuma and cinnamon’s effervescent granules and meets the criteria for good effervescent granules. The method on this study used wet granulation with four formula variations, namely F1: ordinary granules, F2: effervescent granules without active substances, F3 and F4 were effervescent granules with variations in acid and base. Evaluation of the physical quality of granules includes water content test, compressibility test, flow time test, angle of repose, liquid absorption test, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), dispersion time and pH. Based on the experimental results, the combination of dry red ginger rhizome extract, curcuma and cinnamon can be formulated into effervescent granules. The preparation of effervescent granules combined with dry extract of red ginger rhizome, curcuma and cinnamon did not meet the criteria for a good effervescent granule, namely the water content test of the granules F2, F3, F4 each obtained 6.47±0.07, 6.61±0.03, and 5.82±0.04% where the range of good granule moisture content is 2-5%.

Abstract

Kadar kolesterol tinggi umumnya diderita oleh orang yang obesitas, namun tidak menutup kemungkinan orang yang kurus juga bisa mengalaminya, apalagi dengan mengkonsumsi makanan yang rendah serat namun lemaknya tinggi. Kolesterol dapat mengendap pada dinding arteri, maka aliran darah di jantung, otak, dan bagian tubuh lainnya bisa terhambat. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan ada beberapa herbal yang dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol didalam darah yaitu ekstrak daun alpukat dan buah alpukat, Ekstrak daun sirsak, buah naga merah, ekstrak daun rambutan dan rebusan labu siam sebagai terapi alternatif agar tidak bergantung kepada obat-obatan sintetis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan jurnal ini menggunakan pendekatan literature review. Proses pengumpulan jurnal dilakukan dengan mencari sumber literatur berdasarkan kriteria yang ditentukan. Kriteria inklusi yang diambil antara lain: jurnal yang diterbitkan dalam 10 tahun terakhir, merupakan jurnal nasional dan terindeks Google Scholar. Hasil penelitian sebelumnya menjelaskan bahwa kolesterol tidak hanya bisa diobati dengan menggunakan obat-obatan sintetik yang berasal dari resep dokter tetapi bisa juga menggunakan herbal-herbal Indonesia seperti alpukat, buah naga merah, ekstrak air daun sirsak, ekstrak kulit rambutan dan labu siam.

Abstract

Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant that affect the body immune system. Vitamin C deficiency is related to the high risk of infection disease manifestation. Consuming vitamin C of 100-200 mg/day is effective to optimize physiological functions of tissues and cells. Fruits are a natural source of vitamin C that can be consume to achieve vitamin C requirement intake, such as Ananas comocus. However, the vitamin C content in Ananas comocus can be varied depending on some factors, such as their varieties, growth environment, and preparation. This research aims to determine vitamin C content in some fresh Ananas comocus fruits from three plantations in Teluk Meranti area, Pelalawan using Spectrophotometry UV-Vis method, that is a suitable method for vitamin C content determination. The result shows that the calibration curve of vitamin C giving a good linearity, with r value of 0,9943. Vitamin C content in the three plantation was varied. The content from the plantation 1, 2, and 3 was 51,1889; 48,3320; dan 144,200 mg/100 g. Keywords: fresh fruit, spectrophotometer, vitamin C content determination, Teluk Meranti, Ananas comocus

Abstract

The high number of schizophrenic patients at the Puskesmas Alah Air needs attention, one of which is the pattern of treatment. This study aims to determine the pattern of the use of antipsychotic drugs at the Puskesmas Alah Air, Tebing Tinggi District, Kepulauan Meranti. This research is an observational study with a descriptive design. The data source in this study was patient medical record data during January to December 2021 at the Puskesmas Alah Air. The study sample was 81 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the majority of schizophrenic patients were male (74.1%), with an early adult (18-40) year as many as 60.5%. Based on the most widely used antipsychotic drugs, the typical antipsychotic group with halloperidol was 71.6%. Based on the route of administration, 100% of the drugs were given orally. Based on the generic name and trade name, 100% of the drugs used are generic. Based on single and combination therapy, the results obtained are combination therapy, which is 90.1% and the most combinations are typical antipsychotics with typical. The conclusion of this study shows that the pattern of drug use is to use a typical generic antipsychotic orally in a combination form

Abstract

Fish bones contain calcium which can be used as a source of calcium that the body needs. Calcium functions as the formation and maintenance of bones and teeth. The purpose of this study was to determine calcium levels in catfish nuggets after the addition of bone meal derived from catfish. The formula made consisted of F1 (nuggets without the addition of bone meal or calcium carbonate), F2 (nuggets with the addition of catfish bone meal), and F3 (nuggets with the addition of calcium carbonate). Analysis of calcium content using atomic absorption spectrophotometry method. The calcium content in catfish nuggets were F1=350.010 mg/100 grams, F2=1025.335 mg/100 grams, and F3=1498,058 mg/100 grams. Bone flour from catfish added can increase the calcium content in catfish nuggets.

Abstract

The pancreas does not produce enough insulin or the body cannot use the insulin it produces effectively. Insulin is a hormone that regulates the balance of blood sugar levels. (hyperglycemia). This research was conducted with a non-experimental descriptive method with a cross-sectional design that was carried out every month. Sampling was carried out in the internal medicine section of RSUD by Dr. Husni Thamrin Natal. Samples were taken retrospectively every month using secondary data, namely medical records of patients using oral antidiabetics (drugs) in the period from January to June 2019. The data obtained was presented in the form of table proportions and graphs. The results showed that the largest percentage of use of antidiabetic drugs was male, as many as 67 people (57.26%), over 50 years old, as many as 97 people (82.91%), and the type of work was self-employed for as many as 47 people (40, 17%). The most widely used antidiabetic drug groups are the biguanide groups (75.17%), the combination type of drug with a combination of metformin and glimepiride (93.33%), and the frequency of use of the drug metformin (74.15%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the highest prevalence is in the male sex, and the average age is over 50 years. The pattern of prescribing antidiabetic drugs based on the most widely used drug class is the biguanide group, which is a combination of metformin and glimepiride types of drugs, and the frequency of drug use is metformin.

Abstract

Salicylic acid is a skin remedy that is used to treat various skin problems such as acne. Salicylic acid is safe to use and contains Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), which is an ingredient used to reduce wrinkles and acne. Although it has benefits for removing acne, salicylic acid is a dangerous chemical if used in excess of the prescribed limits. To determine the levels of salicylic acid in anti acne creams circulating in Pasar Besar Malang City, qualitatively with color test using FeCl3 and quantitatively using UV-Vis spectrophotometry to analyze levels of salicylic acid in anti-acne cream. Qualitative research using FeCl3 showed that from four samples, one sample was declared negative, while three positive samples contained salicylic acid, while testing using UV-Vis spectrophotometry found all samples containing salicylic acid. The levels of salicylic acid in all samples were within the safe limits set by BPOM with the highest level contained in skin surface products, including substances harmful to the skin, should not be more than 2%.

Abstract

Outbreak is corona virus disease or what is often called COVID-19 is a problem in the world and also in Indonesia. In addition to the implementation of a good understanding and knowledge of all elements including society, in addition, one of the factors that influence a person's behavior is the level of knowledge. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and covid-19 vaccination behavior in the people of Samarinda City. This study used quantitative research with a cross-sectional design where the number of samples in this study was 130 samples obtained from direct interviews and filling out questionnaires. The data analysis in this study was to use the Pearson correlation test. Based on the results obtained, it shows that out of a total of 130 respondents, a sig value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 is known so that it can be said that there is a significant relationship between 2 variables, namely knowledge and perception, besides that, a correlation coefficient of 0.346 is obtained, which means that the level of strength or correlation of the relationship between 2 variables is weak. Knowledge is one of the factors that influence a person's behavior, so the higher the knowledge about vaccines, the higher the public's desire to vaccinate against COVID-19.

Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is a plant that has many benefits, one of which is as an anti-inflammatory. The anti-inflammatory effect of cayenne pepper was tested on white rats in the form of a gel. Two gel formulas were used with different concentrations of propylene glycol as additive, 25% and 30%, respectively. White rats were grouped into 4 groups, negative control group (gel base), positive control group (Voltaren® Emulgel), gel formula 1 group (enhancer 25%), and gel formula 2 (enhancer 30%). Albumen was induced on the backs of white rats then samples were given. Skinfold thickness measurements were taken every 1 hour for 6 hours. The data obtained in the form of skin thickness values ​​(mm). The % Inflammation Inhibition (% PI) was calculated for each sample. Formula 1 and Formula 2 gave %PI of 32.58 ± 1.80 and 40.75 ± 5.71, respectively. Both formulas had an anti-inflammatory effect against edema on the back of rats although not better than Voltaren® Emulgel. Based on One Way ANOVA test, Formula 2 has a better anti-inflammatory effect than Formula 1. LSD test results show that %PI Formula 2 is similar to %PI Voltaren® Emulgel with a significance value of 0.117 (>0.05).
